‘Scary Movie 5′ is Coming, Quick! Hide!

Scary Movie 5 is officially on it’s way to theaters.

So, Scary Movie 5 is officially happening. You already know that though. In fact, the Weinstein Company told you just as much two years ago, but since the initial announcement, there’s been almost no forward progress whatsoever. I suspect most casual viewers even forgot it was happening, but today, the company released a Facebook Message telling us the fifth cycle is a go.

This isn’t news that I could possibly be excited about, in fact, is anyone? I had happily forgotten about this franchise, it’s just not funny anymore! Will you see Scary Movie 5?

Anne Hathaway to Play Catwoman in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Anne Hathaway has been cast for the role of Selina Kyle (Catwoman) in The Dark Knight Rises. She joins Tom Hardy who is set to play Bane in the film.

Warner Bros. announced today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle in the third Christopher Nolan Batman film.  In comic book lore, Kyle is also known as Catwoman.

In a statement from the studio, Nolan said, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.”

In addition, the studio announced Tom Hardy, who appeared in Nolan’s Oscar contender “Inception,” has been set to play Bane. Nolan said, “I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.”

The cast is coming together and this movie is becoming more and more of a reality. I can’t wait to see how this one is going to turn out. For those who don’t know, the character Bane broke Batman’s back in the comics, turning him into a paraplegic. Would Christopher Nolan be brave enough to have that happen at the end of The Dark Knight Rises? This is going to be Nolan’s last entry in his Batman trilogy, that would be a great way to dramatically end it while making sure another sequel is never made!

First Look: ‘Mr. Peabody and Sherman’ Concept Art (Image)

Here’s the first concept art from the upcoming 3D animated feature Mr. Peabody and Sherman featuring the voice of Robert Downey Jr. as Mr. Peabody.

Just announced is Peabody and Sherman, which will feature Robert Downey, Jr. providing the voice of the brilliant scientist and talking dog Mr. Peabody, originally introduced on The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show.

I used to love these cartoons! Time travel with a super-intelligent dog and his pet human?! How can you go wrong? I’m sure Robert Downey Jr. will bring a lot to it. I just hope they put together a movie that appeals to fans of the old Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends. It’s unfortunate that the same writer who did Yogi Bear is writing it.

‘Brotherhood’ Trailer Tries Fraternity Thrills

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming movie Brotherhood.

I like the concept, I’m just not so sure about the execution of the story. The whole fraternity initiation idea has always been strange to me, I’ve never felt that much need to be a part of a club. A lot of people do though, so this movie might just hit all the right marks for a lot of people.

Cool ‘Source Code’ Poster With Jake Gyllenhaal

Here’s the poster for the upcoming thriller Source Code starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he’s ever known, he learns he’s part of a government experiment called the “Source Code,” a program that enables him to cross over into another man’s identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack.

This movie does look interesting, I love the sci-fi elements. More movies like this should be on their way out, unfortunately they are rather rare.
