Zac Efron takes the streets of New York surrounded by holiday greenery as a bike messenger for his role in the star studded flick New Year’s Eve.

The sequel to last year’s Valentine’s Day is another parade of celebrities with barely interconnecting plot lines themed around a holiday.

For the teen factor, this time director Gary Marshall has added Efron and Glee’s Lea Michele to the mix.

Other stars include Michelle Pfeiffer, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Biel and Robert DeNiro.

The movie is due in theaters December 9th.

With her lucky number 13 emblazoned on her hand, Taylor Swift returned to the US on Monday after finishing up the Asian leg of her Speak Now tour.

The 21 year-old singer wore a cute little striped top and red skirt for her return trip and looked very polished coming off a long international flight.

Swift said she was thrilled with the way she was accepted in Asia:

“It really touches me every time I look down and I see all the fans singing the words to my songs, having written the lyrics, knowing that they connect in countries where English really isn’t spoken by everyone. It means the world to me.”

Swift’s musical domination continues when she heads to Brussels on March 7th for the European leg of the tour and in May she starts touring North America for most of the summer.

The first ads for Material Girl featuring Kelly Osbourne have been released, and here they are for your viewing pleasure.  Could these be any more retro?  I think Kelly might actually be wearing some of Madonna‘s old clothes in these ads.  And where did they get that monstrous boom box?  Yes, kids, it’s true – we used to play music on those beasts back in the day.  Those were like our iPods.  Scary, I know.

So I’ve got to say that while I think Kelly looks cute, she’s way, way too over-Photoshopped.  And honestly, I think I prefer Taylor Momsen‘s ads better.  She’s a lot edgier, whereas Kelly seems to be trying to cover up her milk-fed, wholesome English lass vibe with some edgy-ness.  If that makes sense.   Oh, heck, let me shut up and let you look at the rest of Kelly’s ads.  Click on through and take a peek. Holly Madison got on her hands and knees and showed off her assets in a handprint ceremony at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas this past weekend.  I wasn’t aware that attending Vegas party after Vegas party was enough to get anyone a handprint anywhere, but hey – good for Holly.  Looking at these pics, it occurs to me that she and Dita Von Teese are like negative images of each other – Holly is the sunny Barbie doll while Dita is the sultry siren.  Variations on a theme, no?  Holly’s very pretty but I prefer something a little less Girl Next Door myself.

Lindsay Lohan went to court this afternoon to find out what Deputy D.A. Danette Meyers would offer her in the grand theft case against the actress.

Lohan is being charged for allegedly taking a one-of-a-kind necklace from Kamofie & Company in Venice Beach, California.

Judge Keith Schwartz said in open court that any plea in his court means jail time – no exceptions.

‘Miss Lohan there are a couple of things you need to understand so there is absolutely no misunderstandings about anything dealing with this case.

‘I never met you before the last court appearance, you never met me. One of the things about me is that I treat everyone the same. I don’t care you are Lindsay Lohan versus John Doe or Jane Doe.’

The judge acknowledged there had been much speculation regarding what might happen to the actress in the press.

He said: ‘I’m just going to tell you a couple of things that if the case settles in this court will happen.’

Deadliest Catch F/V Time Bandit, helmed by Captains Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand, has lost a crew member.

Justin Tennison, who fished the King Crab 2010 and Opilio 2011 seasons on camera as well as many off season fisheries for the boat, was found dead of unknown causes in a Best Western Bidarka Inn hotel room in Homer, Alaska yesterday.

The room was registered to Tennison where alcohol and what could be marijuana was found in his room. “There was information that there had been a party at an adjacent room,” said an officer.

The statement on the Time Bandit’s official site reads:

It is with great sadness that the Time Bandit family announces the death of crew member, Justin Tennison. Justin died peacefully in his sleep the night of February 21, 2011.

Justin fished commercially for many years, living in Alaska for 28 years. He worked on the Time Bandit, alongside his second cousin, Eddie Uwekoolani, Jr., serving as Engineer during the tendering seasons, and joined the Time Bandit crew as a deckhand fishing the Red King 2010 and Opilio 2011 seasons.

Justin was tough as a bull and was an all-around good hand. The Captains and Crew appreciated his hard work and many contributions this past year. We will miss him terribly and wish his family all the best during this most difficult time.

Justin is survived by a son, daughter, sister, father and grandparents. He was 34 years old.

Amanda Seyfried covers Interview magazine’s March 2011 issue and does so with Victorian romantic flair.

Mikael Jansson photographed the actress in designers like Valentino, Alberta Ferretti and Dolce & Gabbana for a lush, turn-of-the-century feel that has a ghostly overtone to the photos.

Alyssa Milano is pregnant!

The Charmed actress and her Hollywood agent husband, Dave Bugiari are expecting their first child and the two are thrilled.

Milano said on her twitter:

“Yes, it’s true. And we couldn’t be happier. Thank you for your warm wishes and love!”

Other celebrities who’ve announced their impending pitter patter of little feet are Victoria Beckham, Selma Blair, Alicia Silverstone, Jewel and Kate Hudson, among others.

Jennifer Aniston has made hair news again by cutting inches off the layered look she’s had for years.

The Just Go With It actress has debuted the new bob while in Madrid, Spain on the television program El Hormiguero to promote the new film with Adam Sandler and Brooklyn Decker.

Aniston recently made headlines saying how much she hated her once-famous “Rachel” hairstyle from her early years on Friends.

This look is decidedly blonder and is close to the shortest we’ve ever seen Aniston go with her hair. It is similar to what cut she had on the last year of the show.

I like it – it flatters her and is a nice change for her.
