Vanessa Hudgens Says She Feels ‘So Empowered’ From Watching ‘Sucker Punch’

Vanessa Hudgens grabs our attention on the cover of Nylon magazine for the April 2011 anniversary issue.

The 22 year-old says being cast in director Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch was lots of hard work and she was intimidated by her costars muscles at first.

“I remember walking in the very first day, and Jena [Malone] is stretching her back from side to side, and I remember looking at her like, Damn! Look at the back on that chica!  She was so cut!  I was blown away by her back muscles.  I was like, ‘Okay, I’m a little bit intimidated, I must admit.’”

The Beastly actress, who recently broke up with her long time boyfriend Zac Efron is feeling the all-girl kick-butt meaning the film imparts and it gives her a rush to see the finished flick.

“My adrenaline was kicking, my energy, my spirits were so high that I literally felt like I had just walked out of a rock concert… When I saw it, I was literally like, Woo, yes!  I can do anything! Yay! Go women!  Like, I feel so empowered.”

Sucker Punch hits theaters Friday, March 25th.

Stephen King May Pen An Episode Of ‘The Walking Dead’

Stephen King may team up with his son, Joe Hill and take on episode of AMC‘s The Walking Dead.

King is in early negotiations with the show to give the already wonderfully creepy post-apocalyptic zombie show a shot of his brand of suspenseful horror.

The author says it may be for season 2 or 3 but that executive producer Frank Darabont “has expressed enthusiastic interest.”

Darabont has directed 3 movies based on King’s novels; The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Mist.

Hill has written Heart-Shaped Box, Horns and Locke and Key – which was just order into pilot production starring Jesse McCartney.

Having the father-son team would be a treat for Walking Dead fans.

First Look: ‘The Hobbit’ Begins Shooting (Images)

The Hobbit has officially begun it’s shoot in New Zealand and here are the first two on set photos!

This film has been a long, long time coming. It’s great to see it’s finally really happening. It’s also great to see Peter Jackson back in the world he so excellently portrays, about 70 pounds lighter than the first time he took us there. I’ll keep you posted as this major movie finally comes together.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in ‘Dark Knight Rises’, As Robin the Boy Wonder?

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been officially cast in the upcoming mega-sequel The Dark Knight Rises, conflicting stories say different things about the character he will be playing. Will he play Robin the Boy-Wonder? Variety reported Gordon-Levitt’s official casting along with the character their source thought he would play, but then Entertinament Weekly wrote this on Monday:

A source close to the situation says that recent reports that Gordon-Levitt will play Alberto Falcone (a.k.a. the Holiday Killer) — the son of former mob kingpin, Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson) — are incorrect. So, Batman fans: Begin the re-speculation now!

Out of all the possible characters, the most doubtful in the minds of many would be Robin. But look at how the people close enough to the production don’t even know the facts. If Christopher Nolan decided to add Robin to the story I’m sure he’d manage to take the character to a coolness level that nobody thought possible. Lets see what really happens, in any case I’m glad Gordon-Levitt is involved.

‘POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold’ Trailer is Unique

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming documentary film titled POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold from the man responsible for Super Size Me.

Although I don’t see any clear message in this documentary I’m certainly compelled to find out given it’s bizarre and unique construction. A movie about the movie being made during the movie. Not your average everyday film, hopefully it’s really good!

New Full ‘Pirates: Stranger Tides’ Trailer is Better

Here’s the new full theatrical trailer for the upcoming film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

This trailer makes the movie look way better than the last one did, but I’m still not expecting art. I like that the mermaids were revealed in this trailer since character art has been floating around the internet for weeks already. Hopefully the movie isn’t just a parade of gimmicks, of course this is  Johnny Depp we’re talking about, I’m sure he  managed to get some funny moments into the movie.

New Blu-ray Releases March 22nd, 2011: Full List

Blu-ray is the new standard, DVD is on its way out and every week they are releasing many films on the relatively new format. Here’s the full list of Blu-ray movies out this week on March 22nd, 2011.

With this many releases you’d think something that’s really great and new would be out, but unfortunately large numbers don’t mean high quality. I suppose the most notable big film to mention is The Tourist, which got horrible reviews but stars Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. Also, Yogi Bear is out for the kids both in 2D and 3D.

The only other movie opening in the top ten was the new comedy Paul, which made $13.1 million.  Not a huge difference in the top 5, summer’s not here yet!
