First Look: ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2′ (Video)

Here’s the first look at the upcoming final chapter in the massive Harry Potter series Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

Wow, this movie really does look awesome. Now I know this might anger some Potter fans out there, but I really thought that HPATDH:Part 1 was boring. Part 2 on the other hand looks like it gets back to the action and fun that everyone has come to love from these movies. I’ve still never read past the first book, so everything is still new to me. I’m really looking forward to this one!

Full ‘Friends With Benefits’ Trailer With Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake

Here’s the full trailer for the upcoming comedy Friends With Benefits starring Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake.

I love Mila Kunis, she’s one of my favorite actresses these days. Justin Timberlake is bearable, but I’m not too thrilled about seeing him do much more than sing and do SNL sketches. I sort-of want to see this but unfortunately this movie looks like it’s going to fall victim to an extremely predictable story line. I’m hoping it pulls a big surprise and they don’t fall in love, but I’d say chances are slim.

Jennifer Lawrence Officially Starring in ‘Hunger Games’

Jennifer Lawrence is officially set to star in the upcoming film Hunger Games based on the best selling book.

According to Lionsgate, the 20-year-old actress is a fitting choice due to her “meteoric ascent” to Hollywood stardom with her Oscar-nominated role in “Winter’s Bone,” to be followed by roles in Matthew Vaughn’s “X Men: First Class” and “The Beaver,” directed by Jodie Foster.

“Hunger Games” author Suzanne Collins has already given Lawrence’s casting her blessing, via a statement from the studio.

“Jennifer’s just an incredible actress,” Collins said. “So powerful, vulnerable, beautiful, unforgiving and brave. I never thought we’d find somebody this perfect for the role. And I can’t wait for everyone to see her play it.”…

…The movie, based on Collins’ dystopian best-seller about children forced to compete in a fight-to-the-death battle, is slated to hit theaters March 23, 2012.

I’ve yet to see her perform but she’s generating a huge amount of buzz since her Oscar nomination for Winter’s Bone. All the people behind her seem to love her too, I’m sure she’ll be good for the role.

Amy Winehouse Debuts Second Collection For Fred Perry (Photos)

Amy Winehouse has debuted her second collection for British sportswear brand Fred Perry.    It’s not a whole lot different than her previous collection, to be honest:  we’ve got the requisite argyle sweater, halter tops and dresses, cropped pants, and shirts that tie at the waist.  Oh wait, you mean clothes that look just like the stuff Amy wears all the time?  Well, I told you it was similar to the last batch of clothes she created.  Color seems to be the main difference in this collection, which prominently features red.

Unless Amy comes up with some new ideas, you can probably expect more of the same for quite some time:  rumor has it that Amy’s signed on for a five year contract with Fred Perry.

Blake Lively Wraps Up Filming ‘Gossip Girl’ Season 4 (Photos)

Blake Lively was all about contrasting fashion statements on the last day of filming the current season of Gossip Girl in New York.   Only backstage on a TV or movie set would you see a ballgown paired with Uggs and a hoodie.  Hey, a girl’s gotta stay warm!

Did you know Blake was just named Most Desirable Woman by AskMen.com?  One look at her new ads for Chanel and you’ll know why.

New ‘Pirates: Stranger Tides’ Posters Feel Generic

Here are the newest posters for the upcoming third sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

These posters look nice because of all the details, but they have a generic feel to them, much like the generic feel of the trailer. It’s unlikely this movie is going to have many surprises but it will definitely make a lot of money.

Original ‘Pie’ Cast Reunites for ‘American Reunion’

Actors Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy from American Pie have all signed on to make yet another sequel entitled American Reunion.

They’ve officially locked deals with three of the stars of the original films, Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy, to appear in American Reunion, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They’re also negotiating with Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge to reprise their roles as well. American Reunion, which would officially be the fourth American Pie movie with the original cast, but eighth (!) in a lucrative direct-to-video franchise, would surely see the gang come home to Michigan for their high school reunion.

I’m sure with the main cast in place the other actors (who aren’t exactly making major films lately) will jump on-board. This is a very unnecessary sequel, but I’m sure it will take the raunchy-ness of the first films to a whole new level. R-rated is certainly not what it used to be, and it still pulls in the audiences.

Natalie Portman Strikes a Pose for ‘Your Highness’ Poster

Here’s the newest poster for the upcoming comedy Your Highness starring Natalie Portman, James Franco and Danny McBride.

This movie looks really funny. It’s not a movie I would have expected Portman to take, but I love that she did. The director’s last notable film was Pineapple Express, which I thoroughly enjoyed so I have High hopes.

Smart Move of the Week: Darren Aronofsky Exits ‘The Wolverine’

Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky has officially left the production as the director of the X-Men sequel/spin-off The Wolverine.

Stated Aronofsky: “As I talked more about the film with my collaborators at Fox, it became clear that the production of ‘The Wolverine’ would keep me out of the country for almost a year. I was not comfortable being away from my family for that length of time. I am sad that I won’t be able to see the project through, as it is a terrific script and I was very much looking forward to working with my friend, Hugh Jackman, again.”

Stated Twentieth Century Fox: “While we are of course disappointed that Darren can’t do ‘The Wolverine’, we also understand and respect his reasons. Having done both ‘The Wrestler’ and ‘Black Swan’ with Darren, we know he is an extraordinary talent and we look forward to working with him on other projects in the future. Hugh Jackman and Fox both remain fully committed to making ‘The Wolverine’. We will regroup and move forward aggressively.”

Although he said that he’s dropped out because of his absence from his family, I doubt that’s the real reason. It’s not like he can’t afford to fly his family to a location near where the film will be shot.  I personally think he’s just smart enough to realize that this movie has too much potential to ruin his amazing reputation for making great films. He’s capable of such more meaningful non-franchise films. That’s why I’m saying his move is definitely the smartest of the week!
