Taylor Swift to Voice Dream Girl in Dr. Seuss’s ‘The Lorax’

Taylor Swift has been set to voice the dream girl of the main character in the upcoming animated feature The Lorax, based on the Dr. Seuss children’s book. Other’s added to the cast include Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Zac Efron, Rob Riggle and Betty White.

The pic is based on the Dr. Seuss tale that follows the tale of a forest creature who shared the enduring power of hope.

DeVito is the Lorax, and Helms will provide the voice of the Once’ler. Efron will voice Ted, the young boy who searched for the Lorax, and Swift will play Audrey, the girl of his dreams. Riggle plays King O’Hare, and White plays Ted’s Grammy Norma.

Another Dr. Seuss movie coming to the big screen doesn’t necessarily excite me, but I did like Horton Hears a Who! Hopefully they can re-capture that kind of quality with this one, although I must admit, I don’t remember what this book was about. Is it worth being made into a feature length movie?

New Blu-ray Releases March 15th, 2011: Full List

Blu-ray is the new standard, DVD is on its way out and every week they are releasing many films on the relatively new format. Here’s the full list of Blu-ray movies out this week on March 15th, 2011.

The one big highlight is The Fighter, an amazing film. If you haven’t seen that go rent it now, you won’t be disappointed! The only other highlight is Clint Eastwood‘s Hereafter which I still haven’t seen, but includes a scene involving a Tsunami destroying a town. It’s not exactly the best week to release that movie.

‘Battle: Los Angeles’ Destroys Box Office

Battle: Los Angeles was the big winner over the past weekend (March 11-13, 2011) making $35.5 million. The new horror thriller Red Riding Hood landed itself in the #3 slot with only $14 million. And finally Mars Needs Moms opened in the #5 slot with just $6.9 million, and obvious failure for a movie with a budget over $150 million. Nothing else opened in the top 10.

‘Tron 3′ Teaser Trailer Is the Longest and Most Boring Possible

Here’s the incredibly long teaser for the upcoming second sequel Tron 3.

If the third movie is as boring at this poor attempt at a documentary style trailer I’ll probably leave the theater. It’s like they are trying to make he rather un-interesting story from Tron Legacy somehow magically interesting. It’s not working guys. Stick to the snazzy effects, this trailer makes the sequel seem like a really bad idea.

‘Conan the Barbarian’ Teaser Trailer Keeps it Simple

Here’s the teaser trailer for the upcoming remake Conan the Barbarian.

This is certainly not showing much in terms of the story or anything else. It’s obviously a hard pill to swallow, especially for the extreme Arnold Schwarzenegger purists out there. I don’t exactly have high hopes for this one to be a big winner, I’m expecting marginal at best. What do you think? Can Jason Momoa fill Arnie‘s shoes?

Full ‘Super 8′ Trailer Finally Reveals Plot

Here’s the full trailer for the upcoming film from Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams Super 8.

Ok so now we at least know the movie isn’t about 8 superheroes. This trailer gives just enough without revealing too much, I’m looking forward to this now. Seems like a great concept in very capable hands!

‘Glee’ Kids & Prom: Kurt & Blaine Make A Date

Blaine (Darren Criss) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) surprised fans on Tuesday’s episode with the kiss. Finally!

But that’s not all that’s in store for the high school couple according to executive producer Ryan Murphy. At the Glee panel for PaleyFest 2011 on Wednesday night Murphy said they are going to prom.

”That story is ripped-from-the-headlines,” revealed Murphy. “Can you imagine two boys wanting to go to the prom in Ohio?” Fellow EP Brad Falchuk added that “Klaine,” like the the show’s other super couples, would face their fair share of obstacles. “What [else] happens when people start dating?” he said, “Everything goes to hell.”

Back when Criss was cast as a possible love interest for Colfer’s character, it was widely rumored they would be Homecoming King and King, but of course, that didn’t happen much to fans disappointment. This should make up for it!

Oh, even better, Kurt will return to New Directions and William McKinley High!

Lots more was revealed at the panel, including Mercedes (Amber Riley) will get a love interest, Charice will return as the kids get ready to compete for Nationals and Gwyneth Paltrow will be back next year too.

Get the rest of the scoop (there’s lots more) over at TV Line.

Ashley Greene & Joe Jonas Call It Quits

Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene have decided to split.

The rumors kicked into overdrive late last week as both Jonas and Greene were in Los Angeles at the same time, but not photographed together. That’s the first sign of trouble for the PDA loving pair.

“We can confirm they have parted ways and have no further comment,” reps for Greene and Jonas tell us together.

The 21 year-old musician was seen out with his friends at a club without the 24 year-old Greene, who was also spied at the same nightspot, Trousdale, on Friday night with friends that included Zac Efron.

Friends of the couple are speaking out, claiming that it was just a fling, “never that serious.”

The two hope to remain friends and so far, the split is said to be amicable.

New ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Cast In Miami – PHOTOS

The three new Charlie’s Angels actresses are in Miami, Florida, where the fictional agency will now be based, working on the pilot for ABC.

Rachel Taylor, 26, plays Abby – an expert in Krav Magra and the daughter of a notorious con-artist.

Minka Kelly, 30, is Marisa – who specializes in weapons and is a ‘neat freak.’

Annie Ilonzeh, 27, portrays Kate – a martial arts expert and a former cop.

The ladies wore heavenly white dresses and in between scenes covered up with monogrammed gray gowns.

Drew Barrymore is producing the TV show after starring in the movie version with Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu.

It would be nice to see the remaining TV Angels: Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, Shelley Hack and Tanya Roberts make a cameo in the series.

Eva Longoria: “I’m In A Transition Stage”

Eva Longoria graces the cover of Allure magazine for April.

The actress opens up about how she’s coping with life after the breakup of her marriage to basketball player Tony Parker. While she says she has learned to be “a little more cautious,” she reveals that isn’t exactly over the pain yet.

“I’m kind of having to find new patterns because I’m not used to having—I’m used to always being on a plane and flying to a basketball game,” Longoria says of her daily routine, eyes tearing up. “It’s been—every time I talk about it, I want to cry. It’s been hard. Very hard. I’m just trying to get through it as gracefully as possible without any drama.”

The 36 year-old says she is leaning on fellow Desperate Housewives cast mates to help her through.

“Two actors who I lean on heavily for life advice are Marcia Cross and Felicity [Huffman]. We’re like sisters,” Longoria told Allure. “We’ve been through so much with the show and with our lives changing. We’ve been through marriage, death, divorce, children. They’re just two special human beings.”

Despite it all, she’s ready for a new chapter in her life.

I’m in a transition stage,” Longoria says, “And I welcome it.”
