Here are the first poster and teaser trailer for the upcoming Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots.

Cute trailer, Puss was always my favorite character in the Shrek movies. Even though I like the character, this movie was clearly made for financial reasons. I’m hoping it has an engaging enough script to recapture the quality of the first two Shrek movies, but I’m not counting on it.

This past weekend’s (March 4-6, 2011) big winner was the new animated film Rango which made an impressive $38 million! Following in the #2 slot was the new Matt Damon film The Adjustment Bureau with $20.9 million. In the #3 slot was the comedically horrible looking Beastly which made $10.1 million. Nothing else opened in the top ten this week.

Blu-ray is the new standard, DVD is on its way out and every week they are releasing many films on the relatively new format. Here’s the full list of Blu-ray movies out this week on March 8th, 2011.

This isn’t a very exciting week for Blu-ray releases, last week had all the good stuff. The highlight (for lack of a better option) Jackass 3, which was well received. The Oscar winning documentary Inside Job is also out. Morning Glory is worth mentioning too, although I didn’t love it.

A replica of the house in the famed Pixar film Up! was built and its creators actually made it fly! It soured to an amazing 10,000 feet, breaking a world record! Check out the video!

I love that they actually decided to do this! While the physics aren’t the same as they were in the movie it’s still an awesome sight to see! I loved the movie Up!, obviously I’m among the millions who are helping make this an internet sensation. I’m looking forward to watching the National Geographic episode when it airs later this year.

Just call it Moody with Mirrors.

Blake Lively was hired to be the spokesmodel for Chanel Handbags print campaign and now the first image has appeared online.

The ad, shot by fashion mastermind Karl Lagerfeld, has the Gossip Girl against a set of mirrors staring at the viewer from her reflection (nice!) and carrying the new Mademoiselle bag.

The actress really wanted to front a Chanel campaign and told the NY Times that she’s turned down other offers, waiting for the big time of the French couture label.

“I had other opportunities and I would say, ‘Thank you so much, but I am holding out for Chanel,’ ” she said. “That’s who I want to be the face of. And people would say, ‘Well, that’s unrealistic, they only hire Europeans,’ and I said: ‘Well, how great. I’ll be the first then.’ ”

She got her wish!

Charlie Sheen is officially unemployed by Warner Bros. Television and should not report to the Two and A Half Men set.

The company has released a statement today saying: “After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services from `Two and A Half Men’ effective immediately.”

Show producer and creator Chuck Lorre has not issued a statement regarding the matter and costars Jon Cryer, Holland Taylor and Angus T. Jones have also been very tight-lipped regarding Sheen’s ongoing and very public war with the studio, but you have to wonder what they think of the whole mess.

Sheen is free to continue his Charlie’s Korner webseries and whatever else he has in mind.

The carefully worded release does not address the show’s status and whether they are actively pursuing a replacement for Sheen (but it does leave those possibilities open.)

Jennifer Aniston and her “internet boys” know how to sell Smart Water – just get a video to go viral and name the vid “Jen Aniston’s Sex Tape.”

Aniston tries earnestly to talk about the product, but is confronted with all sorts of video cliches: cute animals, lip synching kids, dancing babies (dirty dancing, mind you!) and a guy crying over a double rainbow.

She also kicks a guy in the crotch and sorta apologizes telling him that was “worth about 100,000 hits.”

The end of the video has the 42 year-old actress taking a drink in slow mo – hair blowing seductively around her face, when she spills and chokes on the water.

I haven’t liked a lot of Aniston’s stuff lately, but this was actually funny – What do you think?

Twilight star Kristen Stewart is officially playing Snow White in the upcoming movie Snow White and the Huntsman.

Producer Palak Patel has tweeted that the Twilight actress is in the final stages of negotiation and will officially sign next week. Though his tweets were quickly deleted, this being the Internet, at least one person managed to grab an image before they were taken down. Patel’s tweets read as follows:

@aurastew KStew is officially playing Snow White and her deal is in final negotiations and will close next week.

@cenup official confirmation coming next week. But we are in final negotiations.

Believe it or not this is one of three movies based on Snow White in the works ! Since Kristen Stewart is attached to this one, I’d expect this to be the sad and depressed Snow White. Charlize Theron and Viggo Mortensen have already been cast as the evil queen and the huntsman so I’m expecting some high quality on this project. Hopefully Stewart can step up to the plate and knock this role out of the park.

Nicky Hilton and her aunt, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards, did a little bonding last week with some shopping.

The pair grabbed lunch at Joan’s on Third in Beverly Hills on Friday, March 4th and then headed out for some retail therapy in the city of never-ending spending.

Demi Lovato has made her first public statement since leaving rehab in January and she is thanking her fans for their support.

The Disney actress was on tour with The Jonas Brothers in South America when she punched back up dancer Alex Welch and entered rehab immediately following the incident at the beginning of November.

Lovato says that she read all the messages and kept track of the trending topics on twitter and says “I couldn’t be more thankful for everything you guys sent me.”

The 18 year-old mentions that it was “the darkest time in her life,” but also thanks fans for “the light” they brought into her life.

Eventually, the Sonny with a Chance star want to help others who have suffered through the same kinds of issues she has.

“The journey has been very, very difficult over the past few months.” She goes on to say “I hope to one day raise awareness of everything so I can help people too,” Lovato said.

The actress said she is excited to get back to work and is looking forward to seeing her fans in person.
