Johnny Depp ’21 Jump Street’ Cameo Confirmed!

Johnny Depp has been confirmed to be making an appearance in the upcoming movie 21 Jump Street.

ComingSoon.net has confirmed that Johnny Depp will indeed have a small cameo role in Columbia Pictures’ 21 Jump Street, which is now filming for a March 16, 2012 release.

To be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs), the big screen adaptation stars Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Rob Riggle, DeRay Davis, Dave Franco and Jake Johnson.

Depp fans are probably thrilled with the news. I’ve never seen the original show, so I’m not feeling any excitement about this. Personally the movie doesn’t sound all that enticing to me in any way, but I’m sure it’ll have an audience. Especially now that Depp is attached. I wonder what kind of part he’ll play?

Vera Farmiga Joins ‘Safe House’

Vera Farmiga has joined the cast of the upcoming film Safe House.

Universal Pictures has set Vera Farmiga to star with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds in Safe House, the Daniel Espinosa-directed drama. Production is already under way, with Reynolds playing a young agent assigned to escort a dangerous criminal to safety after they are attacked at a safe house. Brendan Gleeson, Sam Shepard, Robert Patrick and Liam Cunningham will also star in the drama.

Vera is an awesome actor and a very sweet human being, I’m thrilled for her success. It’s always good to see those who you’ve met and know are genuine and good people gaining success like she has. I’m looking forward to seeing her in this film as well, she makes great choices for roles.

‘Top Gun’ Jetting Back to Theaters!

Top Gun is set to return to AMC theaters to celebrate it’s 25th anniversary!

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of singlehandedly winning the Cold War, Top Gun will make a victory buzz of the towers at select AMC theaters on Saturday, April 30 at 12:30 p.m. and another on Monday, May 2 at 7 p.m.

Here’s the special re-release trailer:

It’s been years since I’ve watched this movie, but I’m not going to be rushing out to pay for it. It’s obviously only going to have a couple of showings per theater because they know it will only sell to the true fans, or those who have still never seen it. 25th anniversary? I’m starting to feel old, I’m just glad it’s not a remake announcement! I get the feeling these few showings are going to do very well.

Ian Holm Confirmed to Return for ‘The Hobbit’

Peter Jackson has confirmed that Ian Holm (who played Bilbo in Lord of the Rings) will return to play old Bilbo in The Hobbit. Here’s what Jackson said:

One comment that came up from the recent video blog was the Bilbo voice at the end—many of you assumed it was Sir Ian Holm. Whilst Ian will be returning as the older Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit, that recording was actually Martin Freeman’s voice, taken from a script read through we recorded when the cast first arrived. I have to admit, I wasn’t sure who it was when I first heard it, either. Cheers, Peter J

Not the most exciting news in the world, even for a big fan like I am. I’m glad he’s back, but the majority of The Hobbit is about the young Bilbo Baggins who is played by Martin Freeman in the films. I’m betting the parts with old Bilbo will be the bookends at the beginning and end of the film, since it’s supposed to be old Bilbo writing the story about his young life.

’30 Minutes Or Less’ Teaser Poster

Here’s the teaser poster for the upcoming comedy 30 Minutes Or Less starring Jesse Eisenberg and Azis Ansari.

Not a lot going on here, but at least they have something out. It looks like the masks were added in photoshop, not exactly convincing. I guess it doesn’t matter too much for a comedy, this movie looks really funny. Azis Ansari is hilarious, he’s the main reason this movie looks good.

Fantastic First ‘Troll Hunter’ Trailer

Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming horror film The Troll Hunter.

This movie looks incredibly entertaining, I can’t wait! It looks completely bizarre and offbeat, sure to be a cult classic. I love that the trolls turn to stone when they are in direct light! Unfortunately we have to wait until Halloween time to see this one, I wish it were a summer release.

Gwen Stefani & Family Have A Fashionable Easter – Do You Expect Anything Less?

Gwen Stefani’s style may be modern, but she really is a throwback to how Hollywood used to be.

The No Doubt singer is never photographed looking less than perfect in complete hair and make up and Easter Sunday was no exception.

With her husband, Gavin Rossdale, and their two children, Kingston and Zuma, the family went to her parents house in Southern Californa for dinner and Easter baskets full of chocolates.

Everyone was in a good mood and dressed like they were ready for a very fashionable photo shoot, including the boys.

Gavin even handed out some candy to the paparazzi.

More photos of the happy family are below. (Read the article)

‘Our Idiot Brother’ Trailer Brings Mild Laughs

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming comedy Our Idiot Brother starring Paul Rudd.

Looks funny, but not hilarious to me. I love Paul Rudd so I have a lot of faith in the movie, but the trailer isn’t making it look all that great so far. What do you think? Our Idiot brother will be in theaters on August 26, 2011.
