Taylor Lautner’s ‘Abduction’ Trailer Not Horrible

Here’s the trailer for the new movie Abduction starring Taylor Lautner.

It’s hard to believe this movie is from the same director who made Boyz n the Hood (John Singleton)!  I’m actually surprised, the trailer isn’t as bad as I expected. Maybe not high art here, but it looks like a compelling story line to some degree. Taylor Lautner looks like he’s grown a bit as an actor since Twilight. Do you think it will be good?

Jennifer Lopez Named People’s Most Beautiful Woman Of 2011

People magazine proudly proclaimed Jennifer Lopez the World’s Most Beautiful Woman today.

The American Idol judge said of the honor “Rarely am I left speechless, but I feel honored.”

Glamour and glitz seem to be part of her everyday life, but in reality Lopez says she’s most relaxed at home, spending time with husband Marc Anthony and twins Emme and Max – without all the fluff and stuff of celebrity hair and make up.

“That’s when I’m my happiest,” she said. “Just being able to touch my face and rub my eyes and put my fingers in my hair and not having to worry about messing it up. It’s so much better.”

The 41 year-old singer is also owning the title of diva, just not the awful attitude that is associated with it.

“I kind of like it. We’ve kind of owned it now. But I certainly don’t like and I’ve never been a person who has what they call ‘diva behavior,’ which is something they tried to pin on me for a long time.”

The issue hits newsstands Friday, April 15th.

Adele Says She Makes Music For Ears, Not Eyes

Fabulous Adele graces the cover of Rolling Stone’s Special Issue: Best of Rock 2011.

The 22 year-old sensation is stunning on the front of the venerable music magazine and says she’s just fine with how she looks and isn’t about to change.

“My life is full of drama and I won’t have time to worry about something as petty as what I look like,” Adele shares. “I don’t like going to the gym. I like eating fine foods and drinking nice wine.”

She continued “Even if I had a really good figure, I don’t think I’d get my t*ts and a*s out for no one.”

Adele is aware of how image driven the entertainment industry is and does enjoy other singers who take a different approach than her.

“I love seeing Lady Gaga’s boobs and bum,” she says. “I love seeing Katy Perry’s boobs and bum. Love it. But that’s not what my music is about. I don’t make music for eyes. I make music for ears.”

The British soul singer does admit to stage fright in front of live audiences.

“I’m scared of audiences,” she tells the magazine. “One show in Amsterdam I was so nervous I escaped out the fire exit. I’ve thrown up a couple of times. Once in Brussels I projectile vomited on someone. I just gotta bear it. But I don’t like touring. I have anxiety attacks a lot.”

‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’ Trailer Actually Looks Funny

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love starring Steve Carell.

I’m not one to be running out to watch romantic comedies usually, but this movie actually looks pretty funny. The dynamics and chemistry between the actors is evident from the trailer, what a great cast! I’m glad to see Steve Carell taking his career in the direction of film instead of sticking to TV.

Sally Field to Star in Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’

Sally Field has been cast to play the wife of Abraham Lincoln opposite Daniel Day-Lewis in the upcoming film from Steven Spielberg, Lincoln.

Two-time Academy Award winner Sally Field will star as Mary Todd Lincoln, wife to the 16th President of the United States, in DreamWorks Studios’ “Lincoln” to be directed by Steven Spielberg. The announcement was made today by Spielberg and Stacey Snider, Co-Chairman and CEO of DreamWorks Studios…

Here’s what she had to say about it:

“To have the opportunity to work with Steven Spielberg and Daniel Day-Lewis and to play one of the most complicated and colorful women in American history is simply as good as it gets,” said Sally Field.

Sally is finally going back to the big screen after her years in television, I’m glad she took the role! She’ll probably be brilliant. This movie promises to be a big one, talk about a story that hasn’t been told well on the big screen. Expect the film to come out sometime next year, I’m guessing it’ll be this holiday season.

Catherine Zeta-Jones Sought Treatment For Bipolar Disorder

Catherine Zeta-Jones spent time in a treatment facility for Bipolar II disorder this year.

“After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II disorder,” the rep told People magazine in a statement.

Unlike Bipolar disorder which the symptoms are more commonly known (manic mood swings with elevated, irrational and irritable highs for long stretches of time,) Bipolar II has longer depressive episodes with shorter and less intense upswings in behavior.

The actress has had one heck of a tension-filled year and needed to take care of herself and her mental health by seeking treatment.

Zeta-Jones husband, actor Michael Douglas, was diagnosed with throat cancer last year shortly after his son (her step son) Cameron Douglas was convicted and sent to prison for 5 years on drug related charges. Douglas was also sued by his ex-wife Diandra Douglas for half his earnings in the 2010 release Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

“She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films,” Zeta-Jones’ rep said.

The 41 year-old, who spent about 5 days at the undisclosed center, is starting work on the film Playing the Field with Gerard Butler and is set to star with Bruce Willis and Justin Timberlake in Lay the Favorite later this year.

Bradley Cooper May be the New ‘Crow’

Bradly Cooper is in talks to star as The Crow in the upcoming remake from Relativity Media.

Bradley Cooper is in early negotiations to play the lead role in Relativity Media and Edward R. Pressman’s reinvention of The Crow, the 1994 adaptation of the James O’Barr comic book series that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) has been tapped to direct. Cooper would play the hero portrayed in the original film by Brandon Lee.

This isn’t the first person that would have come to my mind as a casting choice. I’m trying to imagine him in The Crow makeup and it seems like a stretch. Cooper is a great actor though, so I’d be willing to take a look at him in a role like that. If you are having a hard time imaging what he would look like, just imagine him as a goth kid. Now that I think about it, I hope they change up the look a bit.

Michael Shannon Cast as Zod in ‘Superman’ Now Called ‘Man of Steel’

Michael Shannon has been cast as General Zod, Superman‘s enemy in the upcoming remake Man of Steel. The film was to be titled Superman: Man of Steel, but the title has been shortened to simply Man of Steel.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Michael Shannon will star in the role of General Zod in director Zack Snyder’s new Superman film, titled “Man of Steel.”

Snyder stated, “Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role.”

Yes, the bad guy in the new Superman movie is the same one he faced in Superman II. Hopefully he won’t trap him in a piece of glass and cast him into space again. With Zack Snyder directing this movie, you’re going to have to get used to me being incredibly cynical about the quality of the final product. Shannon definitely looks like he could be a bad guy, we’ll have to wait and see how it turns out.

Jessica Biel Likely to Join ‘Total Recall’

Jessica Biel is in talks to join Colin Farrell in the upcoming sci-fi remake Total Recall.

We know that a long list of actresses has been in contention for two parts in the new version  that roughly correspond to their counterparts in the previous film. Now it looks like Jessica Biel will land one of the two parts.

I’m glad it’s been so long since I watched the original Total Recall that I can’t remember the main female lead. I’m sure Biel would be a good new version. I have high hopes for this movie to do well, but I am a bit partial to sci-fi movies. So far the casting choices have been great, now lets hope the movie comes together well. Look for it in theaters on August 3rd, 2012.
