Elton John & David Furnish At The Royal Wedding Of Prince William & Kate Middleton

Westminster Abbey held the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton today and in attendance were Sir Elton John and his partner, David Furnish.

The couple waved to the crowds that gathered to glimpse members of the Royal Family, their friends and the celebrity guests as they entered into the Abbey for the ceremony.

The 64 year-old performer had some tears in his eyes inside as the wedding proceeded, perhaps moved by watching his friend’s, the late Princess Diana, child take his vows.

It was in September of 1997 that Sir Elton performed a reworked version of “Candle In The Wind” at her funeral in the same Abbey the wedding took place today.

David & Victoria Beckham At Prince William & Kate Middleton’s Wedding

Besides the obvious of the bride and groom, the other couple everyone was waiting to see today was David and Victoria Beckham.

The two attended the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey in a very fashionable and glamorous way, naturally.

David chose a dark gray, traditional suit with coat tails, top hat and a light steel gray colored cravat by Ralph Lauren. The soccer star also wore his OBE medal proudly. Unfortunately it was pinned to the incorrect side as he entered Westminster Abbey, but on the way out he had changed it over to his left side.

Victoria chose a dress from her own Fall 2011 clothing line (smart!) in a subdued navy. And while it was full and billowy, you could hardly see any sign that she is pregnant.

“Today’s ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt. Catherine looked wonderfully elegant and we were honoured to be part of such a special, historical day for our country,” the couple said in a joint statement.

“We wish Catherine and William much love and happiness for the future.”

Best Man Prince Harry At Prince William & Kate Middleton’s Wedding

Prince Harry gives a wave to the crowds as he departs the Royal wedding of his brother, Prince William to Kate Middleton in a horse drawn carriage with one of the little flower girls.

The Best Man was outfitted in the Blues and Royals officer’s uniform in Dismounted Review Order, with a Forage Cap, according to the palace.

Harry’s Best Man speech is what we want to hear next! With Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip not attending the formal reception tonight, Harry can get away with a little more humor without having to face his grandmother, the Queen.

Don’t you wish you were a fly on the wall for that?

Princess Beatrice & Princess Eugenie At Prince William & Kate Middleton’s Wedding

Daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, the Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, attended their cousin Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton in some striking fashion choices.

Beatrice wore a beautiful and understated sand colored Valentino Spring Couture 2011 coat and dress that was very elegant on the young Royal. She didn’t chose a British designer which is very rare on an occassion such as this.

Where Beatrice is receiving a lot of flack is for the Philip Treacy fascinator (hat) – and it certainly makes a statement. It’s big and it’s noticeable, but I honestly like it, perhaps more appropriate for Ascot in early summer. I always like it when someone tries something a little outside the fashion norm.

Eugenie chose Vivienne Westwood for her dress – a bright bluejay colored skirt with patterned bodice and bows and a Philip Treacy fascinator with purple flowers and a feathery tuft on the back.

I think both Princesses looked fantastic, youthful and modern – just perfect for the day.

What do you think?

A Royal Confection For A Royal Wedding: William & Catherine’s Wedding Cake (Photos)

The 650 guests at the lunchtime reception celebrating the marriage of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, now Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, feasted on a variety of canapés (over 10,000 individual pieces were prepared using locally-sourced ingredients!) and Champagne.

But of course, the highlight of any wedding reception is the cake.   Last month the official baker of the Royal Couple’s wedding cake was revealed to be Fiona Cairns.   And did she ever deliver.  As promised, the floral-centered design was a stunner – and a whopper.  The eight-tier confection was constructed from 17 individual fruit cakes.   The cake was decorated with over 900 individually-crafted icing flowers and leaves of the following varieties (each is followed by its traditional meaning):

White Rose – National symbol of England
Daffodil – National symbol of Wales, new beginnings
Shamrock – National symbol of Ireland
Thistle – National symbol of Scotland
Acorns, Oak Leaf – Strength, endurance
Myrtle – Love
Ivy – Wedded Love, Marriage
Lily-of-the-Valley – Sweetness, Humility
Rose (Bridal) – Happiness, Love
Sweet William – Grant me one smile
Honeysuckle – The Bond of Love
Apple Blossom – Preference, Good Fortune
White Heather – Protection, Wishes will come true
Jasmine (White) – Amiability
Daisy – Innocence, Beauty, Simplicity
Orange Blossom – Marriage, Eternal Love, Fruitfulness
Lavender – ardent attachment, devotion, success, and luck

I love all the symbolism represented here.  Those are all good omens for a happy marriage!

Report: Meredith Vieira Leaving ‘Today’ Show In June

There is a lot of upheaval happening in TV news shows.

After Katie Couric’s announcement last week that she is in fact, leaving the CBS Evening News as anchor, The Hollywood Reporter has sources who say Meredith Vieira’s time on NBC’s Today Show is about to end.

Vieira will reportedly leave in June, months before her contract ends, and Ann Curry will slide over to cohost with Matt Lauer.

The 57 year-old host’s decision is thought to be personal. Her husband suffers from multiple sclerosis and it is speculated that it might be one of the reasons she is leaving.

Vieira took over the job in 2006 from Couric, who left her morning post for the nightly news anchor job.

Robert Pattinson & Reese Witherspoon: Paris Premiere Of ‘Water For Elephants’

Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon hang tight at the Paris premiere of their film Water For Elephants, held at Le Grande Rex Theater in the City of Lights on Thursday, April 28th.

Newlywed Witherspoon was gorgeous in her vibrant red Giambiattista Valli one shoulder dress and Cartier earrings.

The 35 year-old actress told the LA Times that the movie is about second chances.

“She’s got her life wound so tightly and controlled down to every detail,” Witherspoon says of Marlena, but you get the sense she’s really speaking autobiographically.

“You know whenever you feel terribly out of control, you try to control everything and keep it very small. Then in comes this Jacob character: idealistic, young and hopeful…. For me, this movie is about optimism, that second chances are possible. And to be fearless in your decision-making.”

Chelsy Davy Arrives To Prince William & Kate Middleton’s Wedding

Prince Harry’s on/off girlfriend, Chelsy Davy arrived at Westminster Abbey for the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton today.

The Zimbabwean Davy chose Alberta Ferretti dress. The off the shoulder jacket with bow in the back and skirt were a turquoise color and looked lovely on Chelsy. She also wore a lace hat by Victoria Grant.

Davy, 25, also has a second dress from Ferretti for the evening reception; a midnight blue gown with asymmetric detailing.

Pride Of Britian: The Duke & Duchess Of Cambridge – Prince William And Kate Middleton

British pride is at it’s highest as hundreds of thousands of citizens lined the Mall to see Prince William and his new bride Kate after their stunning ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

Prime Minister David Cameron said he was impressed with William and the challenges he’s faced in public life.

But he said the celebrations were not simply about the ‘handsome prince and the beautiful princess’, adding: ‘It’s also about this incredible institution of the monarchy and the amazing public service that they have given over so many years and the extraordinary role that the Queen has played.

‘I think people around the world will be watching this great historical moment and see the best of Britain and we do do these things very well.

‘I slept on the Mall for Charles and Diana’s wedding all those years ago and I suppose like many people my age have watched Prince William grow up and all the challenges he’s had – obviously losing his mother, but now finding love and wanting to get married.

‘So like anyone who’s lived in Britain, you feel quite an attachment to this whole event and that’s why I think the whole country’s getting excited about it.’

William wore the red jacket of the Irish Guard while his brother and best man, Prince Harry, turned around at the altar to see Kate coming down the aisle. He reassured his brother saying “Right, she’s here now.”

The wedding was viewed by two million people around the world with hundreds of thousand (estimates of up to one million) lined the Mall heading to the Abbey.

Prince Charles & Camilla, Duchess Of Cornwall Arrive To The Royal Wedding

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, arrived at Westminster Abbey for the wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton.

The father and step-mother of the groom are footing a serious wedding bill. While her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton are expected to chip in, Prince Charles and Camilla are paying a rumored $10 million for the extravaganza.

While Camillia’s marriage to Charles is still controversial to many, both William and Harry have said they are very fond of her and Kate is also said to like Camilla and is able to talk to her about her role and duties in the Royal Family.
