Mariska Hargitay & Peter Hermann Adopt A Baby Girl

Law & Order SVU actress Mariska Hargitay and her husband, actor Peter Hermann have adopted a baby girl.

Hargitay told People she is overjoyed.

“I’m deliriously happy,” she said. “From the minute she was born, she was just surprisingly alert and so full of love.”

Amaya Josephine is one week old and a happy addition to their family that includes their 4 year-old son, August.

The 47 year-old actress said the couple had considered many options in adoption.

“We were considering both international and domestic adoption and we’re thrilled that this is the way our prayers were answered,” Hargitay adds.

“We talked a lot about mixed-race adoptions, and we are very excited that we are now a multi-racial family. We’re just so happy she’s here.”

Her illness a few years ago had prompted the adoption, according to a NY Post source.

“Mariska was really affected by her accident in 2008, which caused a collapsed lung,” the source said. “She had been trying for a baby but decided to go for adoption.”

Hargitay’s SVU character, Detective Olivia Benson, is off for the show for a week as everyone adapts to their new addition. She will return to work on Monday, April 11th to continue filming the last new shows of the season.

’24′ Movie Set For 2012?

Brian Grazer the producer of the hit TV show 24 says the inevitable feature film should be out in 2012!

24 Spoilers recently caught a Tweet by super-producer Brian Grazer responding to a fan looking for information about the movie version of the popular television series. In his response, Grazer said that he recently spoke with star Kiefer Sutherland and the plan is to make the movie ready to be released next year. Last we heard about the project, Sutherland was saying that they hope to start production in January 2012 with Tony Scott in the director’s chair.

This is good news for fans of the show. Grazer may just be throwing hopes out there, but at least there is a drive to get the movie made. I’m sure Kiefer Sutherland is anxious to get back to work as the iconic Jack Bauer. I’ll keep you posted on this one!

International ‘Honey 2′ Poster Looks Like a Joke

Here’s the brand new international poster for the upcoming dance movie sequel Honey 2.

Recently released from juvenile detention, talented dancer Maria Ramirez finds an outlet for her passion with a new dance crew.

I really can’t imagine this movie being any good, but it must have some audience. This poster is so corny and overdone it feels like it must be a joke. I’m sure they will do something to make the USA version of the poster  better than this. Does this poster make you want to see the movie?

‘Bridesmaids’ Poster Screams Good Reviews

Here’s the new poster for the upcoming comedy Bridesmaids.

A comedy centered on two women battling to plan their friend’s wedding party.

Well the poster is certainly making the movie sound great, but only seeing it will prove that to me. Supposedly it’s much better than the average chick flick comedy but I’m intrigued because Kristen Wiig stars in it. I love Kristen Wiig!

‘Go For It!’ Poster Worst Ever?

Here’s the poster for the upcoming movie Go For It!

Carmen is a good student with a bad attitude who lives for dancing in the underground clubs of Chicago. She yearns to be ‘somebody’ but is afraid to believe in herself.

This poster has to be competing for the worst poster ever award! I almost didn’t believe this was a real movie until I looked up the details on it. It’s real! Think you’ve seen a poster for a major studio release that worse than this one? Put the link to the poster in the comments section! If one beats this poster for the worst, I’ll put it in a special featured post about bad posters and give you credit for it!

Gollem (Andy Serkis) Hired as Second Unit Director for ‘The Hobbit’

Actor Andy Serkis has been appointed by Peter Jackson as second unit director for the upcoming films The Hobbit Parts 1 & 2. Serkis will reprise his role as Gollem for the film in addition to his new duties.

Andy Serkis, who played the iconic Gollum in Peter Jackson’sThe Lord of the Rings, is taking on a new role in The Hobbit 1 and 2. In addition to reprising his role as the tragic creature, Serkis also has been tapped by Jackson to serve as second unit director on the two films, which are now in production in New Zealand.

“I think I understand Peter’s sensibility and we have a common history of understanding Middle Earth,” Serkis told The Hollywood Reporter. “A lot of the crew from The Lord of the Rings was returning to work on The Hobbit. There is really  a sense of Peter wanting people around him who totally understand the material and the work ethic.”

Serkis has already done some directing, including performance capture on a couple video games including Heavenly Sword. But, he said, “When Peter asked me. There was this email out of the blue. It was a fantastic surprise.”

The fact that he’s being given this opportunity will open the doors for him in the future. Peter Jackson gave him an amazing upgrade here, talk about a dream role. Serkis is already planning to direct again in the future, good think Peter Jackson is giving him the keys to the kingdom!

William Fichtner Cast in Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Elysium’

William Fichtner has be cast in Neill Blomkamp‘s sci-fi film Elysium.

Variety is reporting that character actor William Fichtner is in final talks to join District 9 director Neill Blomkamp‘s second feature Elysium. Fichtner will join Jodie FosterMatt DamonSharlto Copley and Wagner Moura. The actor is probably best known for his television roles: Alex Mahone on Prison Break, Sheriff Tom Underlay on Invasion and Phil Yagoda on Entourage. Fichtner has also appeared in many films, including Heat, Contact, Armageddon, Go, Pearl Harbor, CrashThe Longest Yard, The Dark Knight (as the BankManager), Date Night and Drive Angry 3D.

Fichtner is one of hollywood’s most under-rated actors, you’ve seen his face countless times in TV shows and movies. He’s a very dynamic actor so I’m sure he’s a great choice to work with Blomkamp. The cast is amazing and the director is unique, I’m really hoping for another great movie like District 9 was.

New ‘Priest Poster’ Trying to be Cool

Here’s the new poster for the upcoming action movie Priest.

This poster has a sort of Blade Runner vibe about it, but it’s not fooling anyone. Hopefully the movie will turn out better than the advertising is making it look.

The upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises from director Christopher Nolan will be shot in Pittsburgh, PA this summer.

The Dark Knight Rises, the third installment in Christopher Nolan‘s Batman franchise starring Christian Bale, is shooting in Pittsburgh.

“Pittsburgh is a beautiful city,” Nolan says in a statement. “We have been able to find everything we were looking for here, and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman.”

It’s great that they found a solid city to shoot in. I have a couple friends from Chicago that were hoping the next film would be shoot there like The Dark Knight was, too bad guys! I’m sure there will be a whole new mass of paparazzi popping up in Pittsburgh to cover the shoot. I’ll keep you posted as shooting starts, this movie is going to be good.
