Overcome by emotion during her interview with Vogue magazine, actress Penelope Cruz teared up when talking about becoming a mother.

“This has never happened to me,” she said. “This is really funny,” she said before apologizing. “It’s unexpected.”

Cruz, 37, and her husband, actor Javier Bardem, 42, welcomed their first child, son Leonardo, in January and the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides actress says her focus is entirely different.

“It is a revolutionary experience. That’s the best way I can describe it,” she explained. “It transforms you completely, in a second.”

“Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment – when you see that face, you are transformed forever,” Cruz said.

The actress has been active in charities worldwide with a focus on children, but having a child of her own has intensified that desire to help.

“Even if you were aware of children and felt compassion, when you have your own, it multiplies,” she told the magazine. “It breaks your heart to know that there are so many children in the world suffering so much.”

Now she says, the trick for her and Bardem becomes how to shield Leonardo from the scrutiny of the press.

“I want my son – and my kids if I have more – to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible,” Cruz shared. “The fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work that we do doesn’t give anybody the right to invade our privacy.”

Working hard to improve her outlook on her self, Demi Lovato posted a photo she took of herself in a bikini to bolster self-confidence.

“I’ve been working so hard to get healthy and fit.. I can’t believe I’m about to do this but I’m so excited..” she said via twitter.

It’s been about four months since Lovato was released from a treatment center where she spent her time dealing with her anorexia, bulima and cutting issues.

Now the 18 year-old wants others to see that with hard work, you can overcome your fears.

“I never thought I’d ever feel confident enough to ever to that. I’m excited how far I’ve come since being completely ashamed of my body,” Lovato said.

“I want any girl/guy out there who struggles with body image or confidence to know that it IS possible to find peace with yourself,” she continued.

Demi acknowledges her continuing struggle saying “It hasn’t been easy, but it starts with a commitment to yourself.. Your mind.. And your soul. And trust me, I’m still working at it!!”

ABC Family’s breakout hit Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale gets the cover nod for Seventeen magazine’s summer June/July issue.

The actress shares her worst habit with the magazine: over analyzing things.

“I overanalyze things way too much, to the point where it affects my life,” Hale claims. “Like, when I’m talking to a boy, I’ll overanalyze a text message he sent. And I have to think to myself, ‘Just chill out. Some guy sent me a text message. That’s all. Don’t read something into it that’s not there. Just be glad he sent you a text message!’”

Hale is a country music fan but finds herself alone among her Hollywood friends with her choices of music.

“I love Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert—they write from the heart,” the native of Memphis, Tennessee told the magazine. “But it’s hard to find a country music lover in LA. None of my friends really listen to it, and they hate getting in the car with me because I just blast Taylor Swift.”

Lucy won’t be alone in one music choice. She does admit to some Bieber fever.

“I loved the Justin Bieber movie! His whole story is fascinating to me,” she said. “Beforehand, I didn’t understand how he got so huge so fast. I knew he was talented, and obviously he’s adorable. But after seeing the movie, I was crying and singing his songs. You couldn’t walk away from that movie without falling in love with him.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger has come forward to say that he fathered a child with another woman and that is why Maria Shriver left him.

The former California Governor’s love child’s mother is a former member of their household staff who retired in January of 2011 after 20 years of employment with the family. The child was born over 10 years ago, before Schwarzenegger took public office, according to reports.

When Shriver found out, she moved out of their Brentwood estate and the couple are now separated. Schwarzenegger released a statement to the LA Times:

“After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago,” Schwarzenegger said Monday night. “I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.”

“I ask that the media respect my wife and children through this extremely difficult time,” the statement concluded. “While I deserve your attention and criticism, my family does not. ”

Schwarzenegger came under scrutiny during the 2003 California recall election of then Governor Jerry Brown. Several women came forward with claims that the Terminator star had groped them. Shriver stood by her husband and he was elected to public office.

Arnold and Maria announced their separation last week with no reason given for the seemingly sudden turn of events.

It is being reported that Schwarzenegger has assumed financial responsibilty for the child since birth and that he has known of the paternity all along.

The staff member has refused to comment. There has been no statement from Shriver at this time either.

L’Oreal Paris brand ambassador Fan Bingbing has been delighting fashion watchers at the Cannes Film Festival.  All week, she’s paraded one amazing couture dress after another up and down the red carpets all over town… and she has looked stunning in every one.

But Fan is more than just L’Oreal’s pretty face.  She is a huge celebrity in China, working in music, television and film.  She also has her own production studio.  In fact, her new movie, My Way, a World War II drama, just premiered at Cannes.  Fan plays a “fighting hero” in the film, which was directed by South Korean director Kang Je-kyu.

A fabulous photo shoot and a great cover is a good sign for Britney Spears fans and the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar does not disappoint.

The Femme Fatale singer is about to embark on her world tour to support the new album and she shared with Harper’s how happy she is about the response her album is getting.

“I’ve worked so hard on this album, so it’s really refreshing,” Spears says. “I feel like I’m drinking a tall glass of homemade sweet tea on a really hot, beautiful day.”

The 29 year-old also reveals she’s got a little Bieber Fever going on.

“I think he’s adorable,” Britney remarked. “I just saw his movie, and I really didn’t realize how big he was. He’s enormous; he’s just Mr. Man.”

“A lot of the movie is really similar to what I did when I was starting out,” the singer said. “I did a promo tour for a year, going into radio stations and all that. It was so cool to see our similarities.”

Speaking of performing children, she’s warming up to the idea of her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, taking to the stage, if they really desire it.

“If they have a love and passion for the arts and that’s what they want to do, then so be it,” Spears said. “They are both little actors and so charismatic, I wouldn’t be surprised at all.”

Heading to the movies like a normal teenager, Nick Jonas took in a flick at the ArcLight Cinemas in Los Angeles over the weekend.

But by the time he came out, word (and photographers) had spread that Jonas, 18, was holding hands with Delta Goodrem, the Australian pop star he’s been writing music with.

And she’s 26 year-old.

And he is no longer wearing his purity ring.

“I feel so blessed. Had a great weekend,” Jonas posted on twitter after his cinema outing.

Goodrem recently split from her fiance, Brian McFadden, a singer in the Irish boy band Westlife, after 6 years together.

The Aussie star tweeted the photo above of her and Jonas with Greg Garbo (bassist for The Jonas Brothers band) back in March.

Jonas has dated Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus in the past so another musical connection seems in line for the youngest of the JoBros trio.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale took in the premiere of their pal Brad Pitt‘s new movie Tree of Life at the 2011 Cannes International Film Festival.

A deep v-neck, black sequin and belted jumpsuit with sheer sleeves from Stella McCartney was Stefani’s fashion choice for the event.

She had her hair pulled back on the top with the length full and curled for a 70s vibe.

Stefani traded her regular red lipstick and replaced it with the trendy hot pink/fuschia lip color that updates the look. I love the look and really like the pants mini trend that Rachel McAdams also wore for the red carpet.

Rossdale was dapper in his suit and slicked his hair back similar to Brad (although Gavin’s been rockin’ that look for quite a while now.)

Florence, Italy is the current and temporary location for the cast of MTV‘s Jersey Shore.

Snooki, JWoww, The Situation, Pauly D and everyone else have landed and filming has begun but are they welcome?

One local paper, Corriere Fiorentino, gave the group a very unwelcome headline: “The super buffoons arrive” it proclaimed. And it’s opinion of the cast’s invasion of their city? Decidedly negative.

“The eight most famous jerks in America are arriving in the most refined city in Italy and perhaps in the world. If the Jersey Shore guys do what has made them famous, there will be trouble.”

The Mayor of Florence, Matteo Renzi, has little tolerance for the group as well, barring them from besmirching, filming and boozing inside any historic public building like the art museums.

But the cast is being followed by hundreds of spectators. Are the residents of Firenze on board with GTL? Time will tell.

The gang shopped, went to the gym and got in some much needed clubbing time over the weekend. The group was also filmed on a carousel where The Situation took a chance to work on his Italian with a language dictionary.

Riveting.
