Thor stayed the #1 movie in the box office this past weekend (May 13-15, 2011) with $34.7 million. In second place was the hilarious new comedy Bridesmaids with $26.2 million. The #3 slot went to Fast Five which made another #20.4 million in it’s third week. Priest floundered, opening in the #4 slot with only $14.9 million. Not good for a movie with a $60 million budget.

Alec Baldwin and John Krasinski take baseball rivalry to the extreme in a very funny new commercial.

In the ad for New Era hats, Baldwin, a NY Yankees fan, runs to Krasinski’s apartment and sucker-punches him as The Office star opens the door.

“You guys didn’t deserve to win that game,” Baldwin shouted to Krasinski, a Boston Red Sox fan. “You know you didn’t!”

Well, as it turns out, the 30 Rock star was wrong and Krasinski ends up with an apology (sorta) and $20 grand.

Baldwin says “I ran … I was too angry to drive,” all the way to John’s apartment and missed the last inning.

This is the second ad for the baseball cap maker that the two have starred in. Check the original ad where they go at it in a much more civilized (and still funny) way below.

Britney Spears popped up on stage  at KIIS FM Wango Tango 2011 concert in Los Angeles on Saturday May 14th.

The 29 year-old pop star wore a red and white striped Herve Leger dress with YSL black leather boots for the music event with performances by Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez and The Scene, Matthew Morrison and Ke$ha.

Spears was not performing unfortunately but she was there with Ryan Seacrest, to introduce Lupe Fiasco.

Sending fans into a frenzy in Miami, Florida, Kim Kardashian launched her signature fragrance; Kim Kardashian Gold at Macy’s on Saturday, May 14th.

The busy entrepreneurial gal spent time with fans at the meet and greet in a Rachel Roy print dress and high Christian Louboutin heels.

Kim was very happy with the turnout and tweeted:

“Thanks to everyone who came out to Macy’s today! I swear Miami fans are on another level! I love u guys so much!!!”

Kardashian, who was accompanied by boyfriend Kris Humphries, stopped at the family business to check up on things.

“Just popped into @DASHMiami!!! The store looks amazing!!!! LOVE U DASH DOLLS!”

Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain spent the morning by the sea at the 2011 Cannes International Film Festival photo call for their new film Tree of Life.

The Terence Malick film has been eagerly anticipated for a long while and the 2000+ seat theater was jam-packed with people eager to see the finished movie.

The film reportedly was booed by some and others followed that with applause to counter the negativity. The notoriously shy Malick did not attend the press junket afterward, but Pitt did and had praise for the director and the work.

“He tells this micro story of this family in a small town in Texas and juxtaposes it with the macro of the birth of the cosmos and cells splitting,” he said. “I find that so extraordinary. There are parallel truths in that.”

“He’s like a guy with a butterfly net waiting for the truth to go by,” Pitt said.

I don’t care how many boos it gets, I can’t wait to check it out. I love the idea of this film.

Tree of Life opens May 26th.

Famke Janssen was in Cannes on Friday to shop her new film, Bringing Up Bobby.   She spoke at a press conference at the American Pavilion.  With her huge sunglasses and parasol, she looked just like a movie star at Cannes should.  However, Famke is not the star of this movie - Bringing Up Bobby is her directorial debut.  She also wrote the script, which is about a European con artist and her son.  Marcia Cross, Milla Jovovich and Bill Pullman star.

Television icon Mary Tyler Moore is “recovering nicely” from surgery to remove a benign tumor from the lining of her brain.

Moore had been diagnosed with meningioma, a type of tumor located in the membranes covering the brain.  These types of tumors usually occur in older adults, and are usually benign.

Her spokesperson Erica Tarin described the surgery as a “four hour procedure” and said that Moore would require “no further treatment.”  She would not specify exactly where or when the surgery took place.

Moore is 74 years old.  We wish her a speedy recovery!

Rosario Dawson and Vanessa Hudgens hung out at the  Calvin Klein Women in Independent Film party in Cannes, France on Thursday (May 12th) night.

Both ladies, who share and agent, traveled together to the French Riviera. They each wore Calvin Klein for the party and told MTV the fashion spotlight is tough but fun at the annual film festival.

“Walking around here people check you up and down a little bit more than they do in the States,” Hudgens said. “But it’s just an incredible place to be, so you have to step up your game.”

“It’s one of the few places in the world where you are a model at all times,” Dawson said of the fashion expectations at Cannes. “You’re always on your A-game; it’s a whole ‘nother experience. It’s the most anxiety-riddled experience, but it’s good — it’s really fun and so many wonderful people.”
