New ‘Our Idiot Brother’ Teaser Trailer with Paul Rudd

Here’s the newest teaser trailer for the upcoming comedy Our Idiot Brother starring Paul Rudd.

As much as I love Paul Rudd‘s comedy, this movie just doesn’t look all that funny to me. The story concept seems more like an episode of a TV show than that of a feature length movie. I’m sure it has it’s moments but I’m starting to doubt this one will be a winner.

Colin Firth and Emily Blunt Join Identity Theft Comedy

Colin Firth and Emily Blunt are starring together in an upcoming comedy as identity thieves.

Oscar winner Colin Firth will star opposite Emily Blunt in an untitled dark comedy to be directed by commercials man Dante Ariola who will make his big screen debut with the project…

…It is set to roll in the fall this year and details the story of man who fakes his own death in an attempt to reinvent himself and meets a woman who is also in the process of trying to escape her old life. They both break into empty houses to seal the identities of the absent owners.

Sounds like a great story, I’m glad Firth is still taking roles like this after his Oscar win. Emily Blunt is always great dramatically and comedically. I’m betting the dynamics between these two could make for some comedy gold. The movie shoots this fall so expect it in theaters late summer/fall of 2012.

Rob Lowe Gets Into ‘Knife Fight’

Rob Lowe has signed on to star in the upcoming political drama Knife Fight.

…he has signed on to star in Knife Fight, a Bill Guttentag film that deals with the dark side of political operatives. Lowe, who played senior White House aide Sam Seaborn inThe West Wing and California senator Robert McCallister in Brothers and Sisters, this time will star in the lead role of a political crisis specialist who plays hard and tough in dealing with various October campaign surprises. The picture is coming together with the plan to shoot in San Francisco in June for release in October, 2012 for the Presidential Election.

Lowe certainly fits this type of role, he has a very political look about him. It’s interesting how hollywood takes advantage of political focused times to release movies like this. It’s smart, but at the same time what if everyone is burnt out on election coverage and politics in October 2012? I probably will be.

Liam Hemsworth Starring in ‘Arabian Nights’

Liam Hemsworth is attached to star in the upcoming movie Arabian Nights as Ali Baba.

FilmDistrict’s Peter Schlessel and Bob Berney are near a deal to acquire domestic rights to Arabian Nights, the inferno Entertainment project that has Chuck Russell directing The Hunger Games’ star Liam Hemsworth…

…It’s an ambitious $60 million action film that Inferno is creating action on in the Cannes Festival market.

Clearly hollywood is loving the Hemsworth brothers with Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Liam Hemsworth grabbing major roles like this one. I wonder if they both have staying power, it’ll be interesting to see which one emerges as the bigger success in coming years. Place your bets!

Jack Black Gets ‘Bailout’

Jack Black is set to star in the upcoming comedy Blackout.

…Bailout, a Michael Winterbottom-directed comedy that will star Jack Black. The film is based on the Jess Walter novel The Financial Lives of The Poets. Walter adapted his novel, which follows the misadventures of Matt Prior (Black), who loses his job, is crippled with debt and is convinced his wife is having an affair. He’s two weeks from losing his home when he meets two losers at the supermarket who offer him a strange business opportunity and his last chance to save himself.

Sounds like a fun story, Black needs some starring roles like this that aren’t too outlandish. It’s good to see him do comedy with a little real drama mixed in. He’s a great actor and it’s rare to see him show his dramatic side, hopefully this will be a good chance to see it.

Gandalf Rocks 3D Glasses (Image)

Here’s an interesting new shot of Ian McKellen wearing 3D glasses from the set of the upcoming mega-prequel The Hobbit.

Not a sight one would have imagined seeing, probably the last time you’ll see it too. Talk about a contrasting image, Middle Earth meets the modern age. It’s great that Ian McKellen is onboard for a random photo-op like this.
