Jennifer Hudson walked the red carpet of the 2011 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City on Monday, May 2nd.

The 2011 Met Gala, as it’s more commonly known, featured an exhibit, the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty retrospective, which honored the late designer’s body of work.

Hudson kept it simple and very elegant in a Vera Wang ballgown with layers of tulle for a full skirt and a lightly shimmering gray organza overlay. It was a very beautiful and subtle look.

Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet is taking on another ad campaign. This time for St John.

Winslet, who is one of Lancome’s famous faces, has just completed a photo shoot with Craig McDean for the brand. The ads will appear in magazines in the fall.

St. John’s is working with Winslet just one year after the company parted ways with Angelina Jolie, because as the label head Glenn McMahon said Jolie “overshadowed” the company.

Karen Elson, model and wife of White Stripes‘ musician Jack White, was the interim face of the fashion label after Jolie.

Winslet is also a brand ambassador for the luxury Swiss watch brand Longines.

Beyonce was stunning in Emilio Pucci. The black mermaid style with gold embroidery, high neckline with a glimpse of Bey’s cleavage and her hair pulled back tightly to show off the dress was just right.

Lively is wearing a Chanel 2009 draped dress and nude bodysuit embellished with strategically placed silver sequins, palliettes and beading. The Gossip Girl actress looks confident and sexy in the barely there ensemble.

The 23 year-old also posed on the red carpet with Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel’s head designer and the man who chose her for the Chanel handbag ad campaign.
