‘Pirates: On Stranger Tides’ Sails to the Top

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides opened in the #1 slot this past weekend (May 20-22, 2011) with a solid $90.1 million! Bridesmaids stayed strong in it’s second week raking in another $20.9 million keeping it in the #2 slot. Thor slid to #3 in it’s third week with $15.5 million. The only brand new release that even landed in the top ten was Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. I’m sure it will continue to do well in coming weeks, it’s a much better movie than the last two.

‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ Getting Early Release

The release date for the new robot action flick Transformers: Dark of the Moon has been moved from July 1st to June 29th!

I’ve just learned that Paramount is moving up Michael Bay’sTransformers: Dark Of The Moon to Wednesday, June 29th from Friday, July 1st. The studio’s big Summer 2011 blockbuster will open day and date in all markets except China and Japan on that new date. “Early response to footage, especially the 3D footage, has been great so we want to get the word out that this film is as good or better than the first and much better than the last,” an insider just told me. It’s the only action movie opening between June 24th and July 15th.

Not a big move, but it seems like a smart one. This movie is getting good early reviews, and they obviously want to capitalize on the possibly early revenue. This changes it’s release from being a 3 day weekend to a full 5 days as it’s opening, I’m sure it’ll do extremely well!

‘Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop’ Trailer Brings the Laughs

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming behind-the-scenes documentary Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop.

I love Conan, he’s always been my go-to late night personality. He was completely gypped in the whole Tonight Show debacle last year, no thanks to Jay Leno. Regardless of all that happened to him, he maintains his constant positive attitude and keeps the laughs coming. This documentary looks like a great personal look at the beloved comic. I’m really looking forward to this one.

First ‘Muppets’ Teaser Trailer is a Funny Fake Out

Here’s the first teaser trailer for the upcoming comedy The Muppets starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams.

I like the fake out factor on this trailer, if I didn’t know ahead of time what I was getting into I would have been gagging over the cheesy dramatic opening. Hopefully the next trailer will show more of the comic bits and story, I have high hopes that this one will be more like the originals than recent entries.

First Look: ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Bane Revealed (Image)

Here’s the first official image released for the upcoming sequel The Dark Knight Rises featuring Tom Hardy as Bane. (Click to Enlarge!)

Cool image! He’s a very intimidating bad guy, Tom Hardy is perfect for this role. They obviously had to use makeup to cover up Tom Hardy‘s many tattoos to play Bain. This is the character that broke Batman‘s back in the comic book, I wonder what kind of damage he’ll inflict in The Dark Knight Rises. Whatever the case may be, I’m glad they’ve officially started up the website and the marketing campaign for the film!

Jolie, was stunning (naturally!) in an all black ensemble from Michael Kors: short-sleeved satin shirt and calf-length skirt with a thigh high slice to highlight her gorgeous gams.
