Here’s the first teaser trailer for next summer’s Pixar film Brave.
The animation looks really beautiful, the people at Pixar have clearly outdone themselves again. This is an original fairy tale from the animation powerhouse, and from the looks of it, it’s another winner! I skipped Cars 2, which received the worst ratings of any Pixar film to date. Fortunately Brave looks to be a return to form for the company. Brave will hit theaters on June 22nd, 2012.
Creating a secondary line for a designer is pretty much expected these days and Victoria Beckham is not bucking that trend.
Beckham, who is set to give birth any day now (she has reportedly scheduled her Caesarian for the 4th of July) is launching the Victoria by Victoria Beckham dress line in 2012 inspired by the emo angsty teen cartoon Emily the Strange.
The very 60′s mod, color block, shift dress silhouette is very Emily-like with the exception that it’s not all black and will be priced starting at $550. Yes, VB’s dress line is priced out of reach as well.
“I’m opening these designs to women and girls of all different shapes and sizes, people who maybe want something less tight and clingy and structured,” Beckham said. “It also makes it more comfortable for during the day. You can wear them with a pair of flats or a pair of heels and they look great.”
The dresses look great and fun and very different from her main line but I do hope she does a true diffusion line with more options and a better price range for more people.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge boarded a plane this morning for their highly anticipated trip to Canada and the US.
Prince William and Catherine Middleton wore matching navy outfits as the head to their first overseas official Royal visit since their April 29th wedding.
This will be Kate’s first time in North America. With all eyes on how she will dress, Kate has hired a personal shopper from the London department store Selfridges to help her with her clothing options.
William and Kate will be in Ottowa tomorrow, July 1st, to celebrate Canada Day (Canada’s birthday, as it’s more popularly known.) It is also the anniversary of William’s mother, Princess Diana‘s birthday.
Canada’s prime minister has even unveiled a personal flag for use during William’s visit.
It is the first flag to be created by Canada for a member of the royal family since 1962, when the queen adopted a personal flag for her own use in Canada.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper said the flag was approved by the Queen and William.
After spending June 30th – July 8th in Canada, the Royal couple head to Los Angeles on July 9th for a charity polo tournament and spend the remaining days in the US.
After a possible suicide attempt, Johnathan Rhys Meyers was taken to the hospital earlier this week, according to a report.
The 33 year-old star of The Tudors was reportedly found by paramedics “slumped on the floor.” Meyers refused treatment repeatedly until the police were called and intervened.
“We can confirm we were called by the London Ambulance Service to an address in NW8 to report to a man refusing treatment,” a spokesperson for Scotland Yard told People magazine. “Police attended, and the man was taken by ambulance to a central London hospital. That was the end of our involvement.”
Meyers entered the hospital Tuedsay evening but by Wednesday, he was discharged.
The Irish born actor sought treatment at a facility in South Africa earlier this month for his alcohol addiction. Meyers had reportedly developed ‘the shakes’ from years of excessive drinking and was seeking help for the fifth time.

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon is finally here, and it seems to premiere in a different city every other night. Good thing, then, that star Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has a seemingly endless supply of gowns to wear on the red carpet.
For the movie’s New York premiere in Times Square, Rosie chose a red strapless dress by Antonio Berardi. She tends to favor dresses with a slit in the skirt, and this one was no exception, all the better to show off those loooong legs. (See more of Rosie’s fabulous fashion sense here.)
More photos of Rosie and her co-star Tyrese Gibson after the jump.
Cars 2 was the #1 movie this past weekend (June 24-26, 2011) making $66.1 million despite poor reviews. Bad Teacher, the new comedy starring Cameron Diaz, came in second with $31.6 million. All the prior releases dropped just a slot each other than Kung Fu Panda 2 which dropped to #10, obviously because of Cars 2 being the new animated kids film. Nothing else opened in the top ten this week.
The video for Eminem‘s new song “Space Bound” is out, and in true Marshall Mathers style, it’s bound to generate some controversy.
First off, I have to admit: I LOVE this song. The first time I heard it, I thought, wow, this is probably the closest Em’s ever gotten to a love song. For about half the track, you wonder if he’s turned into a softy, singing “I’m a space bound rocket ship and your heart’s the moon, and I’m aiming right at you.” But of course: cue the pain and drama, and then – because this is Eminem, after all – the darkness and violence start. The song ends with the girl who “took his breath away” wanting to leave him, him trying to choke her to death, and then giving up and shooting himself in the head.
The video portrays none of the luminous love story evident in the song, and all of the darkness and pain. Featuring former porn star Sasha Grey as Eminem’s love interest, this video is probably one of the most depressing pieces of film I’ve seen. But don’t let me decide for you: check it out for yourself and then drop a comment to let us know what you think.
Here’s the trailer for Steven Spielberg‘s new film War Horse.
It looks touching and intense, I really hadn’t heard much about this film before this trailer. I’m guessing this will be one of the big highlights of this holiday season. This may be the story of a young person and their horse, but this ain’t My Friend Flicka.
