This week’s highlight is definitely The Adjustment Bureau starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt which I’ll be running out to rent right away tomorrow, I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. Another I want to see is Unknown starring Liam Neeson, he’s always great. And for the kids, don’t forget Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules which was a huge success in theaters.

Looks like Amy Winehouse should have stayed in rehab a bit longer after all.  Following the shortest rehab ever, Amy kicked off her European tour with an embarrassing display of erratic (read:  drunken?) behavior.

Amy stumbled on stage nearly an hour late for her show in Belgrade, Serbia.  Concertgoers say that she

“appear[ed] unable to remember the lyrics to her songs. She dropped the microphone, mumbled through her songs and occasionally disappeared, leaving her band to keep on playing.”

In other words she was kind of acting like her usual self.

Angry fans jeered and booed, and many “walked out in disappointment.”  One woman commented:

“It was horrible. She should have canceled the whole thing, rather than appear at all like this.”

A statement from Amy’s rep explained that she was canceling upcoming concert dates in Turkey and Greece, but that it was not yet clear whether she would be able to complete the tour.  She apologized to fans who were looking forward to seeing her, but asserted that she felt that cancelling shows at this point “was the right thing to do.”

Smart move.  Now, the next right thing to do is to check herself right back in at the Priory and not leave until she’s really able to stay sober.

A car crash in West Goshen Township, Pennsylvania has claimed the life of Jackass star Ryan Dunn and another passenger early this morning.

Bam Margera‘s mother, April Margera confirmed the death to TMZ.

Dunn and the unidentified passenger were caught in the fiery crash and a tow truck was called to remove the wreckage. While Dunn tweeted a photo of himself and pals drinking hours earlier, it is not known if alcohol was a factor in the accident or who was driving.

MTV responded with a tweet:

“We’re deeply saddened by the passing of a member of the MTV family, Ryan Dunn. Our hearts and thoughts are with his friends and family.”

Dunn hooked up with Bam, a professional skateboarder and became part of his CKY – Camp Kill Yourself – crew. The group then teamed up with Johnny Knoxville for Jackass success.

The 34 year-old was one of the stunt crew for the MTV TV show airing from 2000 – 2002 and he appeared in all Jackass movies. In the first of the films, Dunn was noted for his stunt where he shoved a toy car up his bum.

Dunn also appeared in the spin-off Viva La Bam and began co-hosting the G4 series Proving Ground.

Selena Gomez put her junk food troubles behind her at Sunday night’s 2011 MuchMusic Awards in Toronto, Canada as she co-hosted the MMVAs with actor Colin Farrell.

The 18 year-old looked fresh, fun and glowing with good health as she walked the red carpet in a Burberry Prosrum dress of off-white layered silk with frayed edges and leather straps.

Gomez presented her boyfriend, Justin Bieber, with his first award for the night (she changed into navy satin shorts and a white vest) and the two played it coy about dating.

“Selena? Nice to meet you, I’m Justin,” the 17 year-old pop star said.
“Nice to meet you,” Gomez told the Biebs.
Justin then said, “You’re very beautiful. Maybe we could go out sometime?”
Selena responded, “Thank you, OK, maybe.”

She won two trophies at the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada last night, but as always, Lady Gaga’s kooky stage show got the most notice.

The singer arrived in an egg/cocoon/vessel thing again and chose the cotton candy blue hair color she’s been favoring lately. She seems to like it so much, she’s pasted it on her the crotch of her pants and her armpits. Well, that’s one way to make sure everything matches.

Overall her choice of costuming was downright demure for Gaga. She had several costume changes and was relatively covered up – no nip slips or wardrobe malfunctions at the decidedly teen-skewing show.

Gaga, 25, bookend-ed the awards; opening with a performance of “Edge of Glory” and closing with “Born This Way.” She also won Most Popular International Artist and Best International Video for “Judas.”

Not that it’s that big of a surprise, but Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, co-stars on The Vampires Diaries, have made the big red carpet step: not only did they arrive as a twosome, but also walked together and took interviews as a couple at the 2011 MMVAs in Toronto

Dobrev chose a beautiful shimmering peacock colored strapless dress with a bow at the hip by Georges Chakra Couture for the evening. She kept her hair pulled up into a ponytail but took it down inside for the MuchMusic Video Awards.

Somerhalder opted for suspenders and for some reason, left one down/off . Silly! Why try so hard Ian? Everyone knows your gorgeous.

Somerhalder, 32, and Dobrev, 22, have been flying under the radar as a rumored off-screen couple for about a year and have never confirmed their relationship publicly.

The two have been together (in NYC at Last Night movie premiere, at the White House Correspondants dinner, Coachella, and in France) consistently since wrapping season 2 of the hit show but have been very careful not to be photographed until last month when they vacationed in Paris with their mothers and were mobbed by fans.

Vanessa Minnillo is going to marry Nick Lachey at long last, and she celebrated her upcoming nuptials with a bachelorette party in Las Vegas.  She partied at the Lavo Nightclub in the The Palazzo Resort and Casino.

The exact date of their wedding is being kept under wraps, but given that they’ve just had a wedding shower, and she’s having a bachelorette party, it can’t be far away.  Unless this is all just intended to throw all of us celebrity writers off.

Either way, Vanessa looked cute in a peach-colored mini-dress.  It’s a a fairly conservative style, but something so very form fitting can’t exactly be called entirely modest.

The Nicolas Winding Refn film Drive won the Mise en Scene (Best Director) award at Cannes, and now its made its way to the Los Angeles Film Festival, where it premiered last week.   Star Christina Hendricks was on hand to celebrate the launch of her new movie, which has been described as a cartoonish, dark, moody, film noir crime thriller.

Christina told reporters that she has not been surprised by Drive‘s critical success.  She said:

“Knowing this director’s previous work I was so excited by him and what he’s been doing that I expected this was what he would produce.”

Drive also stars Ryan Gosling, Bryan Cranston, Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, and Albert Brooks.  Now that’s an awesome cast.

Jennifer Lopez suffered a wardrobe malfunction while taping the German ZDF TV show Wetten Dass…? at Coliseo Balear, Palma de Mallorca, Spain on Saturday, July 18th.

The 41 year-old singer was part of a celebrity filled event for host Thomas Gottschalk‘s last appearance. JLo, Heidi Klum, Cameron Diaz and Kevin James all arrived in horse drawn carriages and as Jennifer was moving to her seat next to the host, she leaned forward and exposed her right breast and nipple for the audience.

The American Idol judge recovered fairly quickly and went on with the interview. She later changed out of the flowing dress and performed her hit “On The Floor” in a pair of tight black pants and top.

All right let’s be honest, it’s not much of a nip slip, and she probably avoided a bigger oops – the wind was blowing open her skirt and it’s long train.
