Lady Gaga Soundchecks, Hangs With Fans In Toronto, Canada

Lady Gaga performs at the Much Music Video Awards (MMVA) in Toronto, Canada tonight (June 19th).   She took a moment outside her hotel to take pictures and sign autographs for some of her Little Monsters.  In her recent interviews with the Financial Times and with Rolling Stone, her genuine love and appreciation for her fans really shone through. I have to respect that.

After spreading the love, Gaga headed over to the awards show venue in Downtown Toronto to prepare for her routine with a run-through and soundcheck.

I kind of like the blue hair!  It matches her blazer, which is also kind of cool.  I mean, not “I’d actually wear that” cool, but it’s interesting and attractive and less weird than her usual wardrobe choices.

Tons of pictures after the jump, so click on through! (Read the article)

Denise Richards Previews Her Memoir, ‘The Real Girl Next Door’

Denise Richards‘ memoir, The Real Girl Next Door, hits shelves (and e-readers, I suppose) next month.  Last week she talked with the press at the Time For Heroes Celebrity Picnic and gave a few hints as to what readers can expect.

Practically the only reason most people will read this book is to get the dirt on Denise’s marriage to Charlie Sheen.   She assured reporters that it’s covered:

“I went through a lot and I get asked a lot of questions about that time in my life so I figured that I would share my story and hopefully, anyone that is dealing with challenges will know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.”

However, she intentionally kept the discussion of her marriage positive.   Awww, what’s the fun in that??!

“…People have only gotten the rotten stuff so you know, there was a beautiful love story between he and I and I know that it went the way it went, but I talk more about how I felt during that time because I feel like a lot of women can relate to that, going through a divorce and custody and being a single parent and trying to work and all of that stuff.”

Denise claims that she does her best to keep her daughters Sam and Lola away from the media coverage of all that “rotten stuff.”

“I protect my children from that. I don’t keep the news on when they are around.  They are in kindergarten and first grade so, so far they are okay, but I don’t know because that could change as kids get older and more aware.”

Which would be a lovely sentiment had she not done that whole It’s Complicated reality series (fail) and sued Charlie for the right to essentially exploit their daughters on the show. Disingenuous much?

You can grab your copy of The Real Girl Next Door in bookstores on July 26.

Bristol Palin Dishes On ‘The Gnat’ Levi Johnston In New Memoir

Bristol Palin‘s mad as hell and she’s not gonna take it anymore… or something like that.

Palin has no love for her former flame and father of her child, Levi Johnston and she’s not shy about it in her new memoir Bristol Palin: Not Afraid of Life, My Journey So Far.

The 20 year-old daughter of former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin takes sharp aim at Johnston, (whom she met in the seventh grade,) and his cheating ways saying her time with him was full of “deception and disappointment.”

Palin relays losing her virginity to the Playgirl poser after he took her on a camping trip, got her drunk on wine coolers, deflowered her and left her to wake up alone while he chatted “with his friends on the other side of the canvas.”

The Dancing With the Stars vet said “the gnat named Levi Johnston constantly spreading false accusations against our family” and calls him a self-involved slacker “who cheated on me about as frequently as he sharpened his hockey skates.”

Bristol says the two agreed to abstain from sex until after they were married but broke that promise pretty quickly and the result; her pregnancy, was met with disgust by Johnston.

“Better be a (bleeping) boy,” he reportedly said.

Johnston will have an opportunity to avenge himself in the fall when his book, Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs, comes out.

Bristol’s book is out next week.

Levi takes a beating in her book, do you think he’ll be as rough on her in his?

Clarence Clemons: E Street Band Member Dies At Age 69

Known as The Big Man for his 6-foot 5-inch height and imposing figure, saxophone great Clarence Clemons has died at the age of 69 today.

Clemons suffered a stroke at his home in Singer Island, Florida on June 12th and underwent brain surgery, remaining and ultimately, passing away in the hospital.

The saxophonist who rose to fame as a member of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in the 70s and 80s and the sound of his sax became one of the defining signatures of Springsteen’s music.

Clemons worked with many artists throughout his career, including on Jackson Browne’s “You’re a Friend of Mine”, Aretha Franklin “Freeway of Love” and most recently appeared on Lady Gaga‘s latest album Born This Way in “Edge of Glory” and “Hair”.

Clemons was born in Norfolk, Va and was the oldest of three children. He got his first saxophone at age 9 and played in a high school jazz band. When he was in a car accident in college and could no longer play football, he took up the instrument again with renewed vigor.

RIP, Big Man.

First ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’ Poster is Scandalous

Here’s the poster for the upcoming comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love.

I love the look on Steve Carell‘s  face in this poster, he’s hilarious. I’m not one for romantic comedies, but this movie looks like it’s really something more than that. The cast is stellar and the chemistry between the actors feels real, which can’t be said for many movies that fall into this category. I’m hope it’s as good as it looks!

Heroic New ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ Poster

Here’s the poster for the upcoming comic book adaptation Cowboys & Aliens.

I love that they incorporated Harrison Ford onto this version of the poster, talk about an iconic looking poster. I’m really looking forward to seeing this movie, it’s such a bizarre departure from a regular comic book film. Jon Favreau and this team of actors are sure to please!

‘The Wolverine’ Shoots This Fall

The Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman has finally secured a replacement director and is getting set to shoot this fall.

James Mangold is 20th Century Fox’s and star Hugh Jackman’s choice to direct The Wolverine, ending one of the most competitive contests among directors for a major studio film. Negotiations are about to get underway, but I’m told that Mangold will take the helming job on the sequel to the X-Men spinoff film, a post that became vacant when Darren Aronofsky dropped out of the film in March.

This movie simply has to be better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I don’t think it’s possible that it could be as bad. Obviously I wasn’t a fan of that steaming pile of a movie, but with James Mangold directing I’m expecting a much better product. I’ve liked every movie I’ve seen that he’s made so far so I’m not expecting him to drop the ball on this one. This movie takes place in Japan for the most part, I wonder how much shooting will actually be done there?

‘Expendables 2′ Gets a Director

The Expendables 2 is moving forward as it secured Simon West as it’s director.

After a long search, Simon West is the choice to direct The Expendables 2, the sequel to the 2010 surprise hit action film. West, who most recently directed the CBS Films remake of The Mechanic with Jason Statham and Ben Foster, also directed Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and The General’s Daughter. Production begins in the summer.

The original cast is supposed to return, which means another guaranteed hit. I saw the movie and hated the script, but I enjoyed the action none the less. I expect a repeat of the first film with new action sequences and just as much cheesy dialogue as the first go-around. Hopefully it’ll actually be a better story this time. The Expendables 2 will be released on August 17th, 2012.

Otimus Prime Bares Blade on New ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ Poster

Here’s the latest poster for Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

This series of posters isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but at least we get a cool view of the giant blade that Optimus Prime wields in the movie. I’m not expecting the script for this movie to be anything special, but I must say, the special effects are looking phenomenal. I think the thing that takes it up a notch from the last two movies is the fact that they are finally slowing down the transformations. In the first two movies it was all about quick transformation, this movie looks like it’s finally bringing us every slowed-down transforming detail. It’s what Transformers fans have wanted all along isn’t it?
