Kate Middleton‘s wedding dress fascinated the world and starting in July, those who want to get a glimpse of it up close will be able to.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s gown designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, will be displayed at Buckingham Palace for 10 weeks during the annual Summer Opening, beginning July 23rd.
“The Duchess chose British brand Alexander McQueen for the beauty of its craftsmanship and its respect for traditional workmanship and the technical construction of clothing,” the Royal Collection Press Office said in a press release. “Her Royal Highness worked closely with Sarah Burton in formulating the design of her dress.”
The Duchess is also allowing her veil, shoes and the diamond earrings given to her as a wedding gift from her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton.
Middleton’s tiara, loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth II for her April 29th nuptials to her grandson, Prince William, will also be available for public viewing.
The State Dining Room of the Palace will also have a set up for the cake, created by Fiona Cairns.
One thing not on display: Pippa Middleton‘s bridesmaid dress. Kate’s younger sister is the private owner and not an official member of the Royal Family so her wedding day attire is not included in the display.
The Royal open house ends October 3rd.
