It’s been nearly 3 years since Beyonce‘s last album (I Am… Sasha Fierce), and while her true fans might be eagerly awaiting her new album, 4, her record company is reportedly not nearly as excited.  They’re worried it’s not going to generate the kind of sales they expect from Mrs. Jay-Z.   Sources say that Columbia Records is

“very nervous about Beyonce’s new record.  It doesn’t have the hit songs that her fans are used to…They asked her to make changes, but she said no.”

Evidently Columbia asked Beyonce to return to the studio to re-record certain tracks, but she wouldn’t do it, preferring to leave the songs as they were.  And now we will see the wisdom of not having Daddy as your manager anymore.

Her current single, “Best Thing I Never Had,” is only at #75 on the Billboard charts – not terribly impressive.  Time will tell how 4ultimately does after it drops on June 28th.

Kylie Minogue wrapped up the Australian leg of her “Aphrodite Les Folies” Tour last week with shows in Adelaide and Perth.

Her costumes by Dolce & Gabbana are amazing, but I really love that golden shell.  No depiction of the Goddess of Love would be complete without one!

Next stop:  Bangkok!  Kylie then hits several stops in Southeast Asia before closing out her tour in Cape Town, South Africa.  Talk about a world tour!

The 33rd Moscow Film Festival kicked off in Russia and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wowed everyone at a photo call in her amazing couture dress.

The Transformers 3 star chose a simply gorgeous Gucci gown from the Fall 2011 collection. The chartreuse silk, one-shoulder layered top with large floral accent and sheer black organza skirt was stunning on the 24 year-old model-turned-actress.

Rosie said she enjoyed the chance to do the physical work of the film and was completely up for the challenge.

“To get to be involved with the stunts was great. I wanted to be as hands-on as I could be. I like to get my hands dirty and try everything at least once, maybe twice if I’m crazy.”

Her sexy costar, Josh Duhamel was also at the Russian premiere and looked smashing in his gray suit.

Well are they or aren’t they.

Season 5 of Jersey Shore is just getting under way now that the gang has returned from Italy and the rumors are MTV is getting ready to dump everyone once they finish filming.

“After this group comes back from Italy and shoots season 5 this summer, that will be the end for them,” an inside source told US Weekly.

Paul “DJ Pauly D“ DelVecchio, Nicole “Snooki“ Polizzi, and Jenni “J Woww” Farley are signed up for other things and the cast has demanded (and gotten) substantial pay increases from the network and that could factor in to the decision.

The cast’s salary is thought to be about $100,000 each and the source said a crop of unknowns would be “a lot cheaper”.

MTV’s official response is that they aren’t thinking about anything beyond season 5.

“We love the present cast, and their summer adventures have just begun,” an MTV rep said. “We currently have no plans to recast the show.”

The spin-offs suggest that regardless of their statement, MTV is planning to change up the format in some form.

Beloved star Peter Falk has died today. He was 83 year-old.

The actor suffered from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease but the specific cause of death is still unknown.

Falk “died peacefully at his Beverly Hills home in the evening of June 23, 2011,” a rep confirmed to KTLA.

A conservatorship was established in 2009 as his daughter Catherine Falk, and his wife of 34 years, Shera Danese Falk fought a court battle over the actor’s personal and medical decisions.

Catherine was granted a 30 minute visit with her father every other month, while Shera retained control of his personal affairs and medical care.

The star of TV’s Columbo and of course, as the kindly Grandfather reading the story of The Princess Bride, Falk received 4 Emmys for his work as Lieutenant Columbo.

RIP Mr. Falk. You will be missed.

Justin Bieber‘s appearance at the Herald Square Macy’s ended with one of his security team cited for disorderly conduct.

The 17 year-old pop star was promoting his fragrance, Someday, with a personal appearance yesterday at the NYC department store when the singer stepped outside to greet the waiting crowd. As he was heading closer to the screaming girls, a man jumped the barrier heading toward Bieber.

Bieber’s security team rushed to protect him from the (at that time) unidentified guy. Turns out the guy was a plain clothes NY cop, who did identify himself, but there was some confusion.

The singer was not harmed but the bodyguard refused to follow a directive given to him by the officer.

“One of his bodyguards failed to follow lawful order,” the spokesperson for the NYPD explains, citing an order to move.

“[Bieber] was not even touched,” he adds. “The only person touched was the bodyguard.”

Whatever the case and how it went down, a rep for Bieber adds that the whole incident was a small blip in an otherwise great personal appearance and it’s been blown out of proportion.

“This was a momentary, well-intentioned misunderstanding that was quickly resolved,” the representative said. “The event went very well.”

Macy’s employees may have another view. It was reported that some mom’s were arguing with staff.

Justin signed autographs and took photos with the first 350 people who purchased his VIP gift set but not everyone (of course) could be in that group and some were ‘picking fights with staff.’

Cuddy will not be back to keep Dr. House in line but Lisa Edelstein will return to the Fall TV schedule.

Fans of the 44 year-old actress were shocked when it was revealed last month that she and producers of FOX’s hit show House could not come to agreement and she would not return to her role opposite Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leonard.

The good news is Edelstein will be on TV again – she’s booked a multi-episode guest star on The Good Wife as a lawyer.

The Julianna Margulies legal drama may have the two actress going head to head in a showdown, according to TVLine.

Additional details are scarce, but rumor has it Edelstein’s character — who turns up during the early part of the acclaimed drama’s forthcoming third season — shares a past with Will (Josh Charles). It’s unclear if said past is professional, personal, or both, but I smell a showdown between her and Alicia (Margulies).

Missy Elliot has been struggling with Graves disease for a few years, unbeknownst to her fans, until now.

The 38 year-old rap star received the diagnosis in 2008 and has been undergoing treatment for the disorder.

Graves affects the thyroid and in Elliot’s case, she said she had dizzy spells, severe mood swings and bulging eyes. She also suffered from tremors which made it impossible for her to drive or write.

“I couldn’t keep the brake down and almost crashed,” she tells People, adding that she couldn’t “even use a pen.”

Radiation, thyroid replacement therapy and surgery can all be used to correct the imbalance in the thyroid and in Elliot’s case, a course of radiation has enabled her to manage the symptoms, although the disease has no cure.

“My thyroid is functioning, so I haven’t had to take medication in about nine months. [But] you live with it for the rest of your life.”

Elliot will be the subject of the season premiere of VH1‘s Behind The Music on June 29th.
