Even though she’s just 13 years-old, Elle Fanning looks out-of-this-world angelic on the cover of LOVE magazine’s sixth issue.

Fanning, with her wildly wide hair, hands clasped in prayer, lacy top and a blue glow to intensify her eyes, gives off an ethereal aura in the photo shot by famed photogs Mert & Marcus.

The picture highlights her youth but still gives her an older-beyond-her-years (and slightly eerie) feel.

The Super 8 actress is one of several covers the magazine is using for it’s summer edition which goes on sale August 1st.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver‘s son, Christopher, was released from the hospital late last night after suffering broken ribs and a collapsed lung from a boogie boarding accident on July 17th.

Shriver expressed her gratitude for her son’s recovery and to the hospital staff for the care they gave her 13 year-old son.

“Blessed to be able to take Christopher out of the hospital last night. What a feeling of relief to know that he’s going to be fine,” she tweeted.

“I will forever be grateful to the amazing doctors, nurses and hospital staff in the ICU who helped my son..”

Schwarzenegger also tweeted on Tuesday about his son’s release.

“I knew Christopher couldn’t be stopped! Big thanks to all the doctors, nurses & staff at UCLA that helped him recover.”

Glad to hear he will recover.

File this one under “Duh!!” – Kat Von D and Jesse James have cancelled their wedding plans, called off their engagement, split up, and gone their separate ways.

Jesse says that geography is to blame.  He’s based in Austin, Texas, while Kat is in Los Angeles.   He told People:

“I’m so sad because I really love her.  The distance between us was just too much.”

Kat, on the other hand, rather curtly announced their breakup on Twitter:

“I am no longer w Jesse.  and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats all the info I’d like to share. Thanks for respecting that.”

Yeaaahhhh….. in other words, she dumped him.  Oh, Jesse, karma is a wicked bitch.

But you knew this wasn’t going to last long anyway.  Jesse was on the rebound from his divorce with Sandra Bullock, and while rebound relationships have their place, it’s always a mistake to try and make them into something permanent.

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester and her mother, Constance Meester, are battling it out in court with dueling lawsuits.

Leighton’s suit against her mother claims that Constance has been misusing funds that Leighton had sent to help with medical and education costs for her younger brother, Alexander.   Alexander, a cancer survivor, recently had brain surgery.  Leighton was also helping pay for his private school tuition.   Instead of using the money for her child, Leighton claims:

“Constance has been using the money … to pay for cosmetic procedures for herself, including plastic surgery on her face and stomach, Botox injections for her face, fillers for her hands and hair extensions.”

But that’s not all.   The suit continues:

“…Sadly, Leighton is also informed and believes … that Constance has an alcohol and substance abuse problem that is clouding her judgment. Leighton was recently informed that Constance has been taking pain medication prescribed to Lex following his recent brain surgery.

Although she is healthy and physically able to work, Constance refuses to do so. Instead, Constance expects her daughter to support her financially.”

Well, Mom didn’t like this at all, and filed her own suit on Monday.  She claims that her daughter promised to pay her “a one-time payment of $30,000 and then $10,000 a month” thereafter, and without this money, she can’t take proper care of Alexander.  She also claims that in December 2010, Leighton beat her with a bottle and threw her to the ground.

For her part, Leighton says that she is happy to continue helping with Alexander’s bills, but maintains she owes her mother nothing.

This might all sound completely crazy, but it sounds pretty par for the course for the Meester family.  Her mother, father, maternal grandfather and an aunt all went to federal prison in the early 1980s on drug smuggling and distribution charges.   Constance was released from prison to a halfway house to give birth to Leighton, and was allowed three months to bond with and breastfeed her daughter before heading back to the big house.  Leighton and her older brother, Logan, were raised by their paternal grandparents until Mom and Dad got out of the pen.

Yikes!  Compared to all that, these current legal issues are small beans.  Let’s hope it all works out for the best for the family.

Odette Annable has signed on to join the cast of House for season 8 of FOX‘s hit medical drama.

The Cloverfield actress will join House’s team of diagnosticians after the cranky doctor meets his newest team member in jail.

The season 7 finale featured House (Hugh Laurie) driving his car into Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein)’s home and it appears he will do some (although likely limited) time in jail where he meets up with Annable’s character.

Annable may find herself on double TV duty. She costars in the Christian Slater comedy Breaking In, also on FOX, which has not been renewed or cancelled for next year. If the show is picked up, Deadline is reporting that her contract allows her time to film that show as well.

Annable, 26, becomes the lone female regular on the show now that Edelstein and Amber Tamblyn are gone and Olivia Wilde is off filming movies.

House returns October 3rd for what many believe will be the final year of the show.

Kristin Cavallari is getting on with her life after having her engagement to Jay Cutler called off by taking her pooch for a walk.

The former star of Laguna Hills just celebrated at her engagement party to the Chicago Bears quarterback when reports surfaced he decided to call off their impending nuptials.

Cavallari was spotted yesterday afternoon on the sunny streets of West Hollywood chatting on her phone while walking her dog, looking as if nothing had ever happened.

The reality TV star has not commented publicly about the split but friends say Cutler was “too controlling” of Kristin and that he made her “choose between being with him and friends.”

Kristin may have been “devestated” by Jay’s decision but a good walk with her best furry friend is a start in getting past the hurt. And getting papped while looking extra hot never hurts…

Amy Winehouse was laid to rest today in London’s Edgewarebury Cemetary at an emotional service attended by her friends and family.

The 27 year-old singer was found dead in her home on Saturday and her family was able to have services today, after police had finished performing an autopsy on her body.

Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse, gave a heartfelt eulogy for his daughter and shared stories of her childhood. At the end, he said simply,

“Goodnight my angel. Sleep tight. Mummy and Daddy love you ever so much.”

Among Winehouse’s friends, Kelly Osbourne (who wore her hair in a beehive as a tribute to Amy), DJ Mark Ronson and her boyfriend Reg Traviss paid their respects to Amy today. Her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was not given compassionate leave from Armley prison where he’s serving a 32 month sentence.

At the end of the ceremony, Amy’s favorite song – Carole King’s “So Far Away” – was played and mourners were asked to sing along.

Her mother Janice, brother Alex and the rest of her family will sit Shiva for two days, beginning tonight.

Winehouse will be cremated according to her family’s tradition.

This is cool concept art, the full banner showing all of the members is reminiscent of movie posters of the past. Mark Ruffalo will play a good Hulk I’m betting, although I’ve yet to see him really fly off the handle in a movie. By the way, if you saw Captain America: The First Avenger but didn’t stay through the end of the credits to see the teaser trailer for The Avengers, you missed out! Hopefully they will release it online soon. The Avengers will be released on May 4th, 2012.

Here’s the latest spoof marketing piece for the upcoming movie The Muppets, this time in the form of a Captain America poster.

I love that they are going all out with the spoofs for this movie, they’ve played off of The Hangover Part II, Green Lantern, romantic comedies and now a Captain America poster. I’m hoping they crank out some more promotional material like this, I’m loving it.

Here’s the first official concept art for Lucifer in the upcoming movie Paradise Lost starring Bradley Cooper as the fallen archangel.

Lucifer and Michael, God’s greatest archangels, share the bond of extraordinary friendship until God produces his greatest creation: Man. Unable to remain subservient to God if it means bowing down to humanity, Lucifer begins his dark descent and is cast out – only to plot his revenge.

Pretty creepy looking image, it’s hard to imagine Bradley Cooper as this character. This is a twelve book poem we’re talking about, it’ll be interesting to see how it’s all packed into one movie. This movie is bound to spark controversy, given the subject matter, when it’s released in 2012.
