Star Packed ‘Contagion’ Trailer

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming movie Contagion starring  Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kate Winslet.

Looks like a pretty depressing movie from the looks of this trailer. It’s hard to see where the comic relief might come from, but this is quite a cast of characters. This film was directed by Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Ocean’s Eleven, Erin Brockovich) so there’s a good chance we’re in for a great film.

Amy Winehouse Fans Pay Tribute At Her Home In London

Amy Winehouse

Fans of Amy Winehouse continue to honor the late singer with flowers, notes and mementos left outside her home in London.

Her parents, Mitch Winehouse and Janis Winehouse, viewed the memorial on Monday, speaking with fans and supporters.  Mitch’s wife Jane, Amy’s brother Alex, and Amy’s boyfriend Reg Traviss also visited.

Reg, who had been dating Amy for two years and was said to have a “calming influence” on her,  gave the following statement to The Sun:

‘The last three days have been hell. We have suffered a terrible untimely loss and want peace now.

‘I can’t describe what I am going through and I want to thank so much all of the people who have paid their respects and who are mourning the loss of Amy, such a beautiful, brilliant person and my dear love. I have lost my darling who I loved very much.’

The pictures of Mitch and Janis are just too sad for me to post here.  Their grief is raw and feels too personal to share.  If you want, you can see photos of them mourning their daughter at The Daily Mail.

Amy passed away on Saturday.  The cause of her death is still unknown.  A funeral is scheduled for today.

More pictures of fan tributes to Amy Winehouse after the jump.

Olivia Wilde ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ Comic-Con Premiere

The sci-fi adventure flick Cowboys & Aliens premiered in San Diego’s Civic Theater during Comic-Con weekend with star Olivia Wilde walking the red carpet.

The 27 year-old actress chose a Gothic-inspired black dress from Dolce & Gabbana. The short sleeves and floral applique on lace overlay gave the dress a romantic silhouette.

Wilde says her rise to fame has been quite a ride and she’s thankful for every day.

“It’s been nuts, it’s been crazy, but it’s really fun. And no, I don’t have a big entourage,” the newly-single star quipped.

“I’ve got the most incredible support team. I’m having fun with it because I’m surrounded by great people and it’s an exciting time. These things don’t happen often, and I’m appreciative.”

More photos of Olivia are under. (Read the article)

If you didn’t catch it in theaters it should be at the top of your rental list! Avoid Dylan Dog: Dead of Night like I did, it only got a 3% on Rotten Tomatoes! That may be the worst score of the year.

Guillermo del Toro Talks Monsters and Robots for ‘Pacific Rim’

Here’s are some of the first details on director Guillermo del Toro‘s next film Pacific Rim!

Del Toro reiterated that core concept a couple times: “Giant f—ing monsters against giant f—ing robots.” Also involved is the idea of having “incredibly huge things destroy little things.”

But there’s a human angle to it, too, “the part we can’t divulge that Travis came up with, that made it click [for Guillermo].” And Legendary seems committed to making that part work, too , which lead the director to announce “I’m barren, otherwise I would bear Legendary’s child.” He praised the company for letting him find “the perfect f—ing actors for the role. To make a movie with this size and this scope and be able to cast with the greatest f—ing actors is a dream come true.”

“There’s much more to it than the giant monsters and giant robots,” he said. “We want to make it a big what if: what would happen in the real world if a twenty-five story thing came out of the sea and started destroying cities? How would the world change? What weapons do we need to develop to fight a thing like that? It’s not a fantastic distant future to which we have no relationship. We wanted to make it in the now.”

He elaborated just a bit. “Everything as geeks and fans we ask ourselves about giant monsters and kaiju I wanted to answer in the movie. We created a whole world around that one giant variable. This will not be a movie that has only spectacle and scope.”

This is sure to be a massive film, Del Toro is the perfect choice for this project. Del Toro is masterful with creatures, the giants factor will take his work to a whole new level. His colorful language definitely highlights his passion for the project, and I’m sure we’ll get a great product come summer 2013.

First Look: Kristen Stewart in ‘Snow White and the Hunstsman’ (Images)

Here are the first official images released for the upcoming movie Snow White and the Huntsman starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth.

This movie doesn’t seem all that exciting to me, hopefully they release a trailer soon so we can get a better idea of how this movie will be original. Clearly they are going for a darker side of the fairy tale, but it’s nothing fresh enough to excite me in any way. Die hard Kristen Stewart fans are going to be happy regardless.

Eva Longoria Kisses A Girl In ‘Without Men’ – Special Screening At Latino International Film Festival

Eva Longoria attended the 2011 Latino International Film Festival‘s special screening of her new movie Without Men, held at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood on Sunday night.

The 36 year-old actress stars with Christian Slater, Maria Conchita Alonso and Judy Reyes in the comedy (based on the James Canon novel Tales from The Town of Widows) about the women who are left alone when the men of their remote, small Latin American village are unwillingly recruited to fight in a civil war.

Longoria and costar Kate del Castillo have a lesbian scene that director Gabriela Tagliavini says filming was a bit awkward at first.

“It was a little difficult as the two girls are both straight so they were very nervous and laughed a lot,” she told Fox News. “But I think that just made it even lovelier. [Female audiences] don’t want to watch porn, so it was all very sensual, both are very beautiful women aside from being incredibly funny.”

Check out the photos of Longoria from the screening and the trailer below. (Read the article)
