Michelle Williams Transforms As Marilyn Monroe & Covers Vogue

Taking on the role of Marilyn Monroe is a daunting task for any actress and Michelle Williams does so for both her upcoming film, My Week with Marilyn and for the Vogue October issue.

The 31 year-old actress said that no matter how hard she tried to convince herself not to take on the role of Monroe, she felt compelled to do it.

“As soon as I finished the script [for My Week with Marilyn], I knew that I wanted to do it, and then I spent six months trying to talk myself out of it. But I always knew that I never really had a choice. I’ve started to believe that you get the piece of material that you were ready for.”

Williams said that being Monroe around other people gave her a small sense of what the iconic blonde must’ve felt as people, men in particular, watched her.

“But I do remember one moment of being all suited up as Marilyn and walking from my dressing room onto the soundstage practicing my wiggle,” Williams tells the magazine. “There were three or four men gathered around a truck, and I remember seeing that they were watching me come and feeling that they were watching me go–and for the very first time I glimpsed some idea of the pleasure I could take in that kind of attention; not their pleasure but my pleasure. And I thought, Oh, maybe Marilyn felt that when she walked down the beach.”

My Week with Marilyn will debut at the New York Film Festival and will open in theaters on November 4th.

Kylie Jenner Models For Avril Lavigne & Walks The ‘Abbey Dawn’ Runway

Kylie Jenner had her family in New York to support her runway turn in Avril Lavigne‘s clothing line Abbey Dawn.

The 14 year-old and her sister Kendall Jenner, posed with their half-sisters Kourtney and Kim Kardashian before Kylie’s strut down the catwalk.

Kylie modeled three outfits and closed out the show wearing a very Avril-like black ballerina skirt with lots of tulle.

Avril is dating Kylie’s older brother, Brody Jenner, who was also in the crowd to cheer on his sibling. Lavigne said she was very happy to have Kylie in her show.

“She did a really good job,” Avril gushed to HollywoodLife. “I think she’s adorable. She’s the youngest of all the sisters and I love her edge, so she’s perfect to walk in the Abbey Dawn [show].”

Christina Hendricks Displays Serious Cleavage At Premiere

Christina Hendricks stole the show in an attention grabbing frock on the red carpet for the New York premiere of I Don’t Know How She Does It at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square Theatre Monday night.

The 36 year-old opted for a watermelon pink, cleavage-revealing, off-shoulder, satin dress by one of her favored designers: Vivienne Westwood. Hendricks paired it with drop diamond earrings and swept her hair into an updo for maximum scene stealing. Gotta love it!

The Mad Men star costars with Sarah Jessica Parker, Greg Kinnear, Olivia Munn and Pierce Brosnan in the film based on the popular book by Allison Pearson.

‘Ringer’ Star Sarah Michelle Gellar Says ‘I’m Fascinated By Twins’

Tonight is one of TV’s most anticipated new shows debut.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ringer will premiere to audiences on The CW at 9pm this evening. Gellar plays twins Bridget and Siobhan in the psychological thriller and she says she is very interested in the emotional attachment twins have with each other.

“I’m fascinated by twins,” the Buffy star told Collider. “It’s such an interesting thing. I’m an only child, so I don’t have a sibling. But, if you think about the bond that siblings have, that intensifies so much when you think about being in the womb together.”

“These are two girls that shared everything and were so close, and then something so tragic ripped them apart,” Gellar continued. “It’s like losing a part of yourself because twins are a part of each other. I just think that’s so interesting.”

The story of the two sisters, their secrets and the people around them are going to keep viewers guessing at every turn. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for tonight’s premiere.

Ringer also stars Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd and Kristoffer Polaha.

Tell us – how excited are you to see Sarah back?

Below is the official synopsis of the show. (Read the article)

Kari Byron Rocks “Zombie Apocalypse” Chic At The Emmys

Kari Byron

Mythbuster Kari Byron has about the coolest job in the world.  She gets to blow stuff up, destroy cars, discharge numerous forms of weaponry, and show up looking incredible at awards shows.  For the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Kari chose a fashion-forward gown by San Francisco designer Dee Larsen.  Her dress married flowing green satin with a brown leather belt-slash-shoulder harness.   (Fanboys will also note the front slit in the skirt – the better to see Kari’s legs, my dear.)

OK, let’s get this clear.   A)  It’s amazing, and B) um, what?

Kari explained her ensemble to her Twitter followers:

The only direction for my Emmys dress that I gave to the designer was, “red carpet meets zombie apocalypse” Dee Larsen nailed it!

Got it.

And honestly, I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have on my side when the zombie apocalypse arrives.

More photos of Kari and her Mythbusters co-stars – Tory Belleci, Grant Imahara, Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage - after the jump.

Who’s The Bigger Fashion Fail? Jessica Capshaw Or Sandra Taylor

Sandra TaylorJessica Capshaw

There was a ton of cute fashion on display at Elyse Walker’s Pink Party ’11… and then there were these two.   Grey’s Anatomy‘s Jessica Capshaw and former Penthouse Pet of the Month Sandra Taylor both wore shorts to the fashion fundraiser.  Jessica went super casual with khaki shorts and a long-sleeved pink pullover, while Sandra opted for a look that I can only describe as hooker chic – satin shorts and thigh-high boots.

At least they both stayed with the color theme of the evening.

I think both of these ladies should be slapped with a fine by the fashion police, but I’m going to need your help deciding which one rules supreme.  Who’s the bigger fashion fail?  Cast your vote below and let us know!

Kate Gosselin Wants To Return To TV & Thinks Jon’s ‘Accepting Of Mediocre’ By Working A Regular Job

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Kate Gosselin spoke to Matt Lauer on The Today Show early this morning to talk about the end of her reality TV series.

Tonight is the final episode of the TLC show Kate Plus 8 - a spin-off of the once very popular Jon & Kate Plus 8 that was reformatted around single mom Kate after her separation and divorce from Jon Gosselin.

In the interview Kate shared how sad it all is, for everyone:

On how her fans feel: “They’re  devastated. They’re saying, you know, you’re the neighbor moving far away and we won’t see you again.”

On how her kids will miss out: “I feel sad for my kids because of all of the opportunities that they’re now questioning.”

On how she feels: “[The show] has been the start essentially of my career and my job and the way I’ve been providing for my kids for six years. And so you know, it is a little scary.”

Beyond how bereft she is, Kate manages to take a swipe at ex-husband Jon and every working parent who doesn’t shill their kids on a reality show (which is getting to be a smaller and smaller group every day.)

When Lauer mentioned that Jon suggested she get a job away from the cameras (the horror!) Kate derided the thought.

“It’s a situation where Jon may be accepting of mediocre for his kids, and working a regular job — I want the best for my kids and the best opportunities, not unlike every parent,” the Pennsylvania native said. “I think that to be a good parent is to work as hard as you can and give them the best opportunities in life, and [reality TV] has provided that.”

Best opportunities come from you, the parent, not the materialistic things you can or cannot provide.Yes, every parent wants what’s best for their kids, but not every parent believes that comes from a reality show where the children are stressed (witness the episode with Kate and her best friend fighting over pizza and the children crying over how bad it was.)

If you still think Kate is a great mother after that completely self-serving statement – there is no help for you.

Watch the video yourself and flood the comments with your Kate approval. Ugh.

Dr. Phil Talks To Casey Anthony’s Parents – Do They Think She’s Guilty?

George and Cindy Anthony, parents of Casey Anthony, sit down with Dr. Phil McGraw and talk about the trial, their daughter and their feelings on what happened to their granddaughter, Caylee Anthony.

McGraw, who was on The View today said George and Cindy are divided over Casey’s guilt/innocence. Casey was acquitted in July of all charges relating to the disappearance and death of her child, Caylee, was only convicted of lying to investigators and providing false information.

Dr. Phil asked the couple if they thought Casey had anything to do with disposing of the 2 year-old’s body:

“They have a very different view of that.  He [George Anthony] is very critical.  She [Cindy Anthony] seems to make an excuse at every turn,” McGraw said.

Cindy, he says is “very much in denial” and now says she isn’t sure about the smell in the back of the car she told a 911 operator was like a dead body when she reported her granddaughter missing.

“Truthfully, to this day, I don’t know, to be honest,” Cindy told McGraw.

George Anthony said, “Do I want to believe that Caylee was back there?  I don’t want to believe it, but I’m going by what investigators have told me.  All I know is that Caylee is not with us anymore.”

Watch the preview above. The first part of the interview will air tomorrow, Tuesday, September 13th, on Dr. Phil’s show.
