Jessica Simpson confirms one of the worst kept pregnancy secrets – she is indeed expecting.

Simpson finally acknowledged what everyone has speculated on (for better or worse, she was sporting a belly bump – not just simply weight gain) and slipped the baby news in a Halloween post.

“It’s true – I’m going to be a mummy,” she tweeted while she cradled her tummy in a mummy Halloween costume.

The 31 year-old and her fiancé, NFL star Eric Johnson have been mum about the obvious until today.

Jessica’s younger sister Ashlee Simpson has a child, 3 year-old Bronx Mowgli, with her ex-husband Pete Wentz.

This will be Jessica and Eric’s first child.

Jessica will be a judge on NBC‘s upcoming reality competition show Fashion Star with Nicole Richie and Elle MacPherson.

Adele‘s fans have been hit with two pieces of sad news about the singer: that she’s cancelled all the remaining 2011 concert dates and has throat cancer.

Only one of those things is accurate.

Yes, the “Rolling in the Deep” singer will not perform live at all for the rest of 2011 and possibly into 2012 – which is disappointing to fans – but everyone can breathe a sigh of relief as the rumors of Adele suffering from throat cancer are untrue.

“We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord,” the rep tells E!. “All reports regarding any other condition are 100 percent false.”

The 23 year-old is having the procedure to repair her damaged vocal cords, but it isn’t due to the more serious illness of cancer. She has a  hemorrhage – sort of like a bleeding bruise – on her vocal cords that needs to be surgically corrected.

At the beginning of the month, when Adele issued a statement on her official website, she said she was devastated at letting down her fans.

“I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or i risk damaging my voice forever. i have great confidence in believing you know how much this upsets me, how seriously i take it and how truly devastated and annoyed i am by this. wanting to do something so bad and not being able to is the most frustrating thing as im sure you know!”

Everyone act surprised… the reality TV fairytale marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries is over.

Kardashian filed for divorce on Monday just 72 days after she married Humphries in an elaborate, multi-million dollar wedding for her family’s E! reality show.   Her petition cites “irreconcilable differences” and indicates that she does not want to pay spousal support to Humphries.

“Irreconcilable differences”?  Please.   As far as I’m concerned, there are three possible scenarios here.  One, E! wasn’t happy with the ratings that Humphries was pulling, so they’ve ordered Kardashian to find a new husband.  Two, it’s just a stunt to increase ratings and she’ll withdraw her petition in a few weeks.  Three, they just rushed into marriage without thinking.  And maybe it’s a combination of all of the above.

One superstar who hasn’t had a nude photo scandal or leak is Taylor Swift – and she’s planning on keeping it that way.

Swift and her legal team have sent a website a letter threatening a lawsuit for a post they published containing a topless photo they imply is the Speak Now singer.

Website Celeb Jihad posted the pic (with a gal who does resemble the singer) and the caption “Taylor Swift Topless Private Pic Leaked?”

The superstar’s lawyers cited copyright infringement as the basis and say the site published “false pornographic images” and “false news” about Swift.

Monday, the site issued a “compromise” to Swift – they would take down the offending photo if she converted to Islam and sacrificed a goat.

Hmmm, guessing she won’t find that to be an offer she’s likely to find acceptable…

Matt Lauer, Ann Curry and the folks at The Today Show have a pretty good time every year choosing a costume theme for all the personalities on the show and this Halloween was no exception.

The Royal Wedding was on tap for the NBC show stars and anchors with Lauer and Curry taking the lead roles of Prince William and Kate Middleton as they donned their wedding outfits for the broadcast.

Others joining in - Al Roker opted for a Prince Harry red wig and military suit (I’m sure his military comrades are having a go at him over that!), Natalie Morales was Pippa Middleton, Savannah Guthrie checked in as father-of-the-groom Prince Charles and Kathie Lee Gifford and Hota Kotb came as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie – hats and all.

The best was the (brief) return of Meredith Viera as The Queen.

You might think that Heidi Klum decided to dress as an old-school ghost for her annual Las Vegas Halloween Party.  After all, she arrived covered in a white sheet.  But Klum, who is known for her outrageous Halloween costumes (check out her 2010 and 2008 get-ups), always has a surprise up her sleeve.   She was draped in a sheet at her Saturday night shindig, all right, but she was lying on a gurney.

Dressed as a corpse.

Which would have been creepy enough, but Klum took it one step further:  she was a corpse with all its skin removed, revealing the muscles underneath.

The costume consisted of a painted body suit and makeup – and quite possibly the most fabulous platform heels you’ve ever seen on a dead chick.

It would be so easy for Klum to do something stereotypically sexy for Halloween, but she never succumbs to that temptation.  Her costumes are always creative and way out there.  Love it!

Ashley Biden, daughter of Vice President Joe Biden, is engaged to be married.   She and Dr. Howard Krein have been dating for just over a year.

Ashley, 30, is Vice President Biden’s youngest, and his only child with his second wife, Dr. Jill Biden.    She is a social worker, and Dr. Krein is a plastic surgeon and otolaryngologist.

The Vice President’s office issued a statement saying “their entire family is thrilled.”   Congratulations!

Christina Aguilera and her co-stars from The Voice turned out for a quick press junket on Friday at Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles.  Season 2 begins in February and the singer admitted she is excited about the show’s return.

“I had to come back and do a second [season]. How could I not?  This is the most exciting show – ever! The suspense value? It’s intense… I think I get more nervous…than the actual artists and vocalists that come up here to audition.”

Based on viewer feedback, the show’s producers have added more contestants to the mix, and Aguilera says that this just increases the excitement and fun.  “We know the game now. It’s an intense competition this year… we’re extra critical and we’re all looking for something so unique and so different.”

The Voice Season 2 premieres on NBC on Sunday, February 5, right after the Super Bowl.

Marie Osmond has bounced back from a brief hospitalization on Wednesday and attended a doll signing in Las Vegas today.

The 52 year-old singer was performing with her brother, Donny Osmond, at the Flamingo when toward the end of the show, Marie’s voice sounded hoarse.

After she finished the performance, she headed to the hospital and underwent tests to determine what happened.

“So the allergies went into a bronchitis,” she tweeted. “Didn’t realize it until I went to hit the high notes last night on stage. Pie Jesu was kinda P-U.”

Osmond was given the OK to sing on Thursday and went right back to work with brother Donny entertaining their fans.

Marie’s health continued to improve and she was in high spirits on Saturday at the signing to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her signature line of dolls.

Fun day seeing all your faces @FlamingoVegas for the signing!! Such a great weekend with doll collectors from all over.

Susan Sarandon has played a lot of roles, but she took on a very special one today:  mother of the bride.   Sarandon’s daughter Eva Amurri married her fiance, soccer commentator Kyle Martino, in Charleston, South Carolina.

The bride opted for a gown by designer Lela Rose.  The black-tie reception with dinner and dancing was hosted by Sarandon and her former longtime partner, Tim Robbins, who helped raise Amurri.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
