Amber Rose Shows Off Her Ink In Dual Magazine Covers

Amber Rose

Model Amber Rose is the tattoo community’s darling for November 2011.  She shows off her numerous tattoos for two magazines this month:  Inked and Urban Ink.

I must confess that I am really surprised at how pretty Amber is  in her Inked shoot.   She always looks incredibly trashy to me, or maybe that was just the result of dating Kanye West, but regardless, photographer Sarah McColgan did a really nice job.

Inked‘s Twitter followers “interviewed” Amber for the feature.  She reveals that she got her first tattoo when she was just 15, and says that her current honey, Wiz Khalifa, is her “best friend.”

Keep reading for more photos and excerpts from the article, as well as Amber’s Urban Ink cover.

On why she shaved her head: When I was a little girl I used to love Sinéad O’Connor’s video and song “Nothing Compares 2 U.” I knew I wanted to look as beautiful as she did one day, so when I was old enough to make my own decisions, at 19, I cut it off, and it’s been over eight years now.  I knew I wanted to do it really bad, but I was scared. As a woman your hair is your confidence. But once I did it, I never went back.

On whether she always wanted to be a model: Oh, no—I was a total dork! I didn’t think I was going to grow up to be pretty. I guess that’s why I’m humble now. I always wanted to be a marine biologist. I have a fascination with whales so I wanted to study them … maybe one day I will.
