Johnny Depp can add another great author to his acting resume.

Depp, who has portrayed authors and writers Hunter S. Thompson and J. M. Barre, is producing and starring in a new film of the life of children’s author Dr. Seuss.

The Cat in the Hat author, born Theodor Geisel, was an illustrator in the late 1920s who drew magazine ads for big corporations like General Electric and NBC. He started working on political cartoons shortly after and then began his foray into children’s books.

Seuss went on to write classics Green Eggs and Ham, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Fox in Sox and Horton Hears A Who among so many popular works.

Geisel died in 1991 after succumbing to throat cancer.

Depp’s next film, The Rum Diaries, will release October 28th.

David Boreanaz has broken his silence and is speaking out about his affair with Rachel Uchitel and it’s effects on his marriage to former Playboy Playmate Jamie Bergman.

The scandal broke in the spring of 2010 when it was revealed that Boreanaz, 42, had been unfaithful to Bergman, his wife of 10 years, with Uchitel, Tiger Woods #1 mistress, after photos and text messages of the two emerged.

Boreanaz now says that it was “a bonding experience, in the long run.”

“In a sacred ground like marriage, you find yourself out of it at certain times for reasons unknown that can be destructive,” he told TV Week via US Weekly. “There could be a demon that kind of comes out and overtakes you.”

Boreanaz says he doesn’t believe in giving up “I’m a fighter. I’m a lover,” he shared.

The actor has had to fight a lot to save his marriage (and his public reputation.) He was hit with a sexual harassment lawsuit from Kristina Hagan, an actress who appeared on the hit FOX show Bones, where she claimed he inappropriately texted her and made unwanted advances.

Boreanaz and Bergman have two children, Jaden, 9, and Bella, 2.

Uchitel has gone on to marry businessman Matt Hahn.

Jennifer Garner holds on tight to Seraphina as mom and daughter visit the Getty Museum Sunday afternoon.

Jen and Seraphina were picture perfect in floral dresses for the warm fall day.

The Butter actress and her 2 year-old daughter took in the sights with 5 year-old Violet (pictured below) and enjoyed a beautiful day of sunshine.

The three girls met up with their dad, Ben Affleck to pick pumpkins at a church in Santa Monica.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries have been married for all of a month and a half, but it’s never too late to ensure that a totally staged for the media wedding is going to stick.  The reality-show couple made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, where Ellen herself officiated as they renewed their vows.  Ellen opened the ceremony with these words:

“We are gathered here today because we are the only 300 people who weren’t invited to Kim and Kris’ wedding.  And now, in this mecca of daytime television, we reaffirm the bond of marriage between Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian — all rights reserved, E! Television Productions.”

She instructed Kris to buy Kim a copy of her new book, Seriously, I’m Kidding – he said he’d buy 500 copies – whereas Kim promised to “always put [Kris] first, or at least above Kourtney but below Khloe.”

Ellen joked that the newlyweds, who were wed on August 20, have already been married for “a long time for reality TV stars.”

The video is quite cute and Ellen makes a great officiant.  A second career should she ever give up the entertainment biz?!

Rihanna got ‘Loud’ in Liverpool, England this week when her concert tour made a stop at the Echo Arena.   Ri-Ri played all of her biggest hits, including “Only Girl In The World,” “Shut Up And Drive,” “Man Down,” and “California King Bed.”  She brought an audience member onstage for a raunchy cover of Prince’s “Darling Nikki,” and closed with her signature song, “Umbrella” (…ella…ella…eh eh eh).

This is Rihanna’s third time through Liverpool in three years, and the Liverpool Echo says this was her best show yet.

Country crooner Eric Church and his wife Katherine have become parents after she gave birth to the couple’s first child – a baby boy.

Boone McCoy Church was born Monday, October 3rd in Nashville, Tennessee at 7lbs, 11 ounces.

“Everybody always tells you what an awesome and unique experience being a parent is. Words can never do the feeling justice,” Eric shares. “I am very thankful and blessed to have a healthy and happy baby boy and baby mama.”

The “Drink In My Hand” singer recently said he didn’t think being a father would change his songwriting habits, but joked about the possibility of carving out new lullabies market.

“I know that fatherhood is going to change me, but I’m not sure to what level,” Church said. “But I can promise you this: I’m not going to be writing lullabies at any point in time, unless they’re like bad-ass, kick-ass lullabies. [laughs] There’s maybe a market for that out there somewhere!”

“Drink In My Hand” could take on a whole new meaning…

Kirsten Dunst has revealed she now holds dual citizenship with the U.S. and Germany.

The 29 year-old actress told the German publication B.Z. that she’s embracing her German roots.

“I’m now a real international lady,” Dunst said, “one who can film in Europe without a problem.”

“It would be the greatest joy for me to act in a German film.”

The Melancholia actress will have to brush up on her language skills to work consistently in the country’s film industry – she has only a very basic grasp of German.

Dunst says she stays in touch with and frequently visits her relatives who live near Hamburg and she is considering purchasing property in the capital.

“I would prefer to buy an apartment in Berlin,” she told the magazine. “It’s such a young city, and right now so much is happening in Berlin.”

The Michael Jackson Tribute Concert: Michael Forever was held at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, England on Saturday, October 8th and the late singer’s three children appeared on stage.

Fourteen year-old Prince; Paris, 13 and his youngest son, 9 year-old Blanket – real name Michael Joseph Jr., danced and celebrated their father.

We’re very happy to be here on this special night to honor our father,” Paris told the 50,000 plus crowd while introducing Beyonce’s video tribute.

Paris wore a replica of Michael’s red leather jacket from his Thriller album and video. Blanket wore one of his dad’s signature looks – black suit with red shirt and black tie and red armband. Prince was dressed in leather jacket and white shirt from Jackson’s Bad album.

Among the performers for the night: Cee Lo Green, Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx, Christina Aguilera and Gladys Knight.

Sir Paul McCartney has married his girlfriend of four years, business woman and heiress Nancy Shevell, in London today.

The 69 year-old musician wed at the Marylebone Registars Office on Sunday, October 9th – what would’ve been McCartney’s former Beatles bandmate’s, John Lennon, 71st birthday.

Shevell wore a lovely ivory colored, long-sleeved dress with button down front and v-neck from McCartney’s daughter, fashion designer Stella McCartney. Sir Paul had a navy suit on that she also designed for the singer.

McCartney’s youngest daughter, 8 year-old Beatrice from his second marriage to Heather Mills, was the flower girl.

The small ceremony was attended by just 30 close friends and family; among the celebrity guests, Barbara Walters, Ringo Starr and Barbara Bach.

The couple left the non-denominational ceremony while guests tossed rose petals.

“It was terrific – thank you!” McCartney told the crowd.

Mom-to-be Beyonce just can’t stop showing off her growing baby bump!  The video of her new single, “Countdown” is no exception.   Amid 1960s-inspired images of the singer dancing, fluttering her eyelashes, shimmying, there’s a glimpse of a big belly rub, reminiscent of her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.  At times she channels a little Audrey Hepburn, which gives the whole thing the feel of a Gap commercial, but it’s pretty cute, and a catchy song.

“Countdown” is the most recent song to be released from Beyonce’s album, 4.  Check it out!
