WATCH: Michelle Williams Take On Marilyn Monroe In ‘My Week With Marilyn’

Michelle Williams is taking on the screen legend and icon Marilyn Monroe (see her Monroe inspired October cover and photo spread for Vogue here) for the biopic My Week with Marilyn.

The story takes place during the filming of The Prince and the Showgirl, which Monroe and Sir Lawrence Olivier (played by Kenneth Branagh) filmed in the summer of 1956 in England.

Monroe, who was just married to playwright Arthur Miller (Dougray Scott) at the time, was accompanied by production assistant Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne) who went on to write about the experience – with one week missing.

That stretch of time is the film’s core – when the 23 year-old was enraptured with the Hollywood star and pulled into her life.

Dominic Cooper, Dame Judi Dench, Julia Ormond and Emma Watson costar.

For any actress to play a larger-than-life persona like Monroe, the task can be daunting and intimidating so will she pull it off? Check out the trailer and see what you think.

ABC Comedy To Bring ‘Cheers’ Stars Rhea Perlman & Kirstie Alley Together Again

Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman are trying to rekindle some of the comedic magic they had as part of Cheers with a new comedy for ABC.

The veteran actresses are teaming up for a pilot called The Manzanis. Alley is a woman who moves “along with her Italian-American family” to an upscale neighborhood in New Jersey. The family is at odds with their new neighbors. Perlmanwill be Alley’s mother-in-law.

Alley and Perlman both won Emmys for their time on Cheers and each had short-lived sshow of their own. Alley with Fat Actress and Perlman with Pearl.

ABC is working the nostalgia factor for their comedies. Tim Allen‘s Last Man Standing will debut on the network this coming Tuesday, October 11th.

If it survives it’s competition (it’s on opposite NCIS, Glee and The Biggest Loser) and Alley’s show makes it past the pilot stage, the two shows could pair up for a throwback comedy night.

Prince Harry Arrives In California

Prince Harry

Britain’s Prince Harry arrived in the United States on Friday for military training that will prepare him to return to combat in the Middle East.  He and 19 other men from the British Army Air Corps will spend  two months learning to pilot Apache helicopters in desert conditions that are similar to those in Afghanistan.

Harry and his squadron will split their time between the El Centro Naval Air Facility and the Gila Bend Air Force Auxiliary Air Field in Arizona.  They will learn to handle the large aircraft in mountainous desert conditions, deploy its weapons systems, and “crew judgment” – the ability to distinguish civilians from the enemy on the ground, and act accordingly.

The younger brother of Prince William should not expect to receive any special treatment due to his royal status, says British Army Lt. Col. Peter Bullen.

“He is treated exactly the same as any other student on the course, and he wouldn’t want to be treated any differently.”

Following the U.S. training course, Capt. Harry Wales – as he is known in the military – will return to England to complete his Apache training.  He has said that he intends to return to  serve in Afghanistan, where he was on the front line until news of his deployment was leaked in February 2008.

Harry’s stint at El Centro Naval Air Facility lends a bit more celebrity panache to a locale that had already had its own brush with fame:  much of the iconic 1986 movie Top Gun was filmed there.

Jennifer Aniston Covers Elle Magazine’s ‘Women In Hollywood’ Issue

Jennifer Aniston finds herself front and center on the November issue of Elle magazine for the Women in Hollywood issue.

The 42 year-old actress shared that she’s in no rush for a baby, contrary to what tabloids publish about her every other week but she has learned to hold her romantic relationships close to the vest and not be so open with reporters.

“It’s not what you read. There’s no desperation,” Aniston said. “If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. I’m at peace with whatever the plan is.

“But will you hate me if I say I don’t want to talk about my relationship?”

The Horrible Bosses star comes across as laid back but did confess to losing her temper with a director who she felt, crossed the line.

“I threw a chair at a director,” Jennifer said. “It wasn’t my proudest moment. He was treating a script supervisor horribly… When the director walked in, I threw a chair at him. I missed, of course. I was like, ‘You can’t speak to people like that.’ I can’t tolerate it.”

Aniston’s latest project Five, premieres on Lifetime Monday October 10th. She is one of five directors (including Demi Moore and Alicia Keys) who tackles stories about survivors of breast cancer.

See Julia Roberts As The Evil Queen In ‘Snow White’ (PHOTOS)

Julia Roberts gets her mean on for the new Snow White movie as the Evil Queen.

In the first pictures of her in full costume, Roberts is in full regal mode with huge costumes, bright colors and the kind of over-indulgence a wicked ruler can bask in.

Director Tarsem Singh (The Cell, Immortals) said he wanted his monarch to be consumed with remaining on the throne.

“She outsources her evil, just like most people,” says Singh. “I wanted a person who is just schizophrenic. She’s a person who would just do all the evil she needs to do to stay in power.”

Roberts costars in this version of Snow White with Lily Collins, Armie Hammer and Nathan Lane. It is due in theaters March 16, 2012.

This is a more family friendly version of the fairy tale, where the competing film Snow White and The Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth, will be a darker variation of the beloved story and is due in June of next year.

George Clooney: Skinny Dipping Is ‘Tradition’ At His Lake Como House

George Clooney walked the red carpet for the premiere of his latest film The Ides of March in New York City at the Ziegfeld Theatre on Wednesday, October 5th.

The 50 year-old actor had his costar Marisa Tomei to his villa in Lake Como, Italy earlier this year and she told late night host Conan O’Brien how she and Evan Rachel Wood and Charlie Rose went skinny dipping at Clooney’s home.

“So he [Clooney] throws the gauntlet down: ‘Are you guys gonna jump in the lake?’” Tomei said.  “We wound up all skinny dipping, let’s just cut to the chase.”

Clooney says that swimming in the buff at his place is traditional.

“[Skinny dipping] is a tradition at my house!” Clooney revealed. “It’s funny. Some people skinny dip, but I always go upstairs and put a suit on and then I jump in the lake.”

Check out more photos of George at the premiere below and a video from his Thursday night appearance on David Letterman‘s show where he talks about legendary newsman Walter Cronkite visiting and jumping in the lake.

American Idol Lee DeWyze Dropped By RCA

It seems the dream is already over for American Idol Lee DeWyze.  Did it even have a chance to begin?  He beat Crystal Bowersox to win the show’s ninth season, and was signed by RCA Records.   However, after just a year and a half, Lee and RCA are parting ways.

The rockin’ singer was dropped by his record label due to poor record sales; his 2010 debut album, Live It Up, sold just 168,000 copies.

His rep says that Lee is “in a good place right now” despite this news.
