Evan Rachel Wood Says ‘Ides Of March’ Costar Ryan Gosling Has ‘Great Rhythm’

Evan Rachel Wood steps out on the red carpet for the New York premiere of the The Ides of March at the Ziegfeld Theatre on Wednesday, October 5th.

The 24 year-old actress chose a plum/burgundy Gucci leather dress with high collar and bow. Wood paired it with dark heels and a matching hat for a unique look.

Wood, who costars in the political thriller with Ryan Gosling, shared her thoughts on working with the 30 year-old in-demand actor.

“You couldn’t ask for a better leading man,” Wood said of working with Gosling. “We hung out a lot in rehearsals and laughed a lot, so by the time we began shooting it we knew each other quite well. Playing opposite him is like playing a great tennis player. He’s got great rhythm.”

The Ides of March opens in theaters Friday, October 7th.

Apple’s Co-Founder & Visionary, Steve Jobs Has Died At Age 56

Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, has succumbed to illness and died at the age of 56.

“Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being,” read a statement on Apple’s website. “Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor.”

Jobs had been suffering from multiple illnesses after surviving pancreatic cancer back in 2004 and the technology and cultural leader took a leave of absence from the company beginning in January of this year.

Citing his failing health, Jobs left his position as CEO of the company he helped co-found in August because he was unable to “meet my duties and expectations” and continue in his position.

Jobs was known to be demanding but inspired his team to look for innovative ways to bring personal computing to the individual. Besides developing the Macintosh PC, Jobs was the visionary behind iTunes, the iPod and iPhone, among many other advances.

Recalling his interactions with Jobs over three decades as “colleagues, competitors and friends,” Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said “the world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come. For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely. “

Kellan Lutz Is Nylon Guys November Cover

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Immortals are both November films so who better to put on the cover of Nylon Guys for that month than Kellan Lutz!

The 26 year-old talked about how lucky he was to score a part in the vampire movie franchise, growing up on a dairy farm and enjoying lighting things on fire.

Here’s a bit of what he had to say:

On living on a dairy farm with his grandparents in Iowa:
“That was where I learned to be a pyro. There was no trash removal service, so you’d just burn it. I love fire.”

On feeling like the textbook middle child:
“My mom was always taking care of the troubled older brothers, and then my younger brothers were twins, so she had a lot to handle with them. I was kind of the easy one, which meant that I got lost in the shuffle.”

On the perks of “Twilight” being so popular:
“It was a golden ticket for all of us. Actors act their whole lives just to get what we got.”

Ashley Greene on Kellan:
“Kellan’s like an onion. You need to peel back the layers to really get to know him.”

Immortals will open in theaters on November 11th and Breaking Dawn one week later on November 18th. Get your Kellan fill just in time for Thanksgiving!

Adele Cancels Her US Tour Due To Vocal Cord Problems

British chart-topper Adele has been forced to cancel her remaining US tour dates because of a problem with her vocal cords.

The 23 year-old has been diagnosed with a vocal cord hemorrage – which is like a (bleeding) bruise in your throat – something that could be both painful and a long-term issue if she doesn’t address it.

Adele was forced to cancel her tour back in May because of laryngitis and these US dates were rescheduled from those spring concerts.

The singer posted her apology to fans on her blog:

“Guys, im heartbroken and worried to tell you that yet again im experiencing problems with my voice,” Adele said. “its ridiculous i know! i cant believe it myself. i follow all the advice im given and stick to regimes, rules and practices to the best of my ability but it seems to simply not be enough.”

She goes on to detail her vocal and respiratory problems that have led up to another cancellation and tells fans she is simply “devastated” at having to cancel shows again.

“singing is literally my life, its my hobbie, my love, my freedom and now my job,” Adele posted. “I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or i risk damaging my voice forever. i have great confidence in believing you know how much this upsets me, how seriously i take it and how truly devastated and annoyed i am by this. wanting to do something so bad and not being able to is the most frustrating thing as im sure you know!”

The “Rolling In The Deep” songstress released her second album, 21, earlier this year and it is the best selling album of 2011 so far.

‘The Simpsons’ Salary Dispute Could End The Series

Twenty three seasons and five hundred episodes might be all she wrote for The Simpsons if the network and cast don’t come to an agreement on salary.

Twentieth Century Fox and the voice actors are locked in a standoff over the actor’s salary as the studio wants them to take a 45% pay cut to keep the cost of the aging show down. The cast had offered a 30% cut with a share of the profits from syndication but the studio isn’t budging.

“We believe this brilliant series can and should continue, but we cannot produce future seasons under its current financial model,” Twentieth Century Fox said in a statement.

The cast stars whose salaries are under scrutiny include Dan Castellaneta, (Homer Simpson, Barney, Groundskeeper Willie) Nancy Cartwright, (Bart Simpson, Nelson) Yeardley Smith, (Lisa Simpson) Harry Shearer, (Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner, Mr. Burns) Julie Kavner (Marge Simpson, Patty & Selma) and Hank Azaria (Chief Wiggum, Apu, Moe).

The studio playing hardball indicates to some that it’s possible they want to shutter the series as it will make more money if it’s cancelled.

As long as The Simpsons remains on air, a deal is in place where reruns can only be shown on FOX channels, not cable where it would be much more lucrative for the studio. The contract was made before the cable networks turned out to be the best place for syndication.

With lagging ratings (down 14% this year versus last,) this could be the end of The Simpsons.

Olivia Wilde Cast In ‘Rush’ – Will Russell Crowe Play Richard Burton In The Film?

Olivia Wilde joins the Formula 1 racing pic Rush as supermodel Suzy Miller.

The 27 year-old actress stars opposite Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl with the possibility of Russell Crowe joining the flick as legendary actor Richard Burton.

The official synopsis: Set against the 1970′s golden age of Formula 1 racing, “Rush” portrays the fast-paced and exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivalries the sport has ever witnessed – that of James Hunt (Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Brühl) and their illustrious Formula 1 racing teams, McLaren and Ferrari. A privileged, charismatic and handsome English playboy, Hunt could not be more different from his reserved and methodical opponent, Austrian born Lauda. “Rush” follows their personal lives both on and off the track and charts their rivalry from its inception in Formula 3. Here they competed viciously against each other until Lauda’s business acumen and surgeon like precision behind the wheel propelled him all the way to Formula 1; eventually landing him the number one spot at Ferrari. However it was not long before rambunctious golden boy Hunt fought his way into Formula 1, and into the hearts of a nation, dramatically seizing the championship from Lauda and proving to the critics, and more importantly himself, that there was real substance beneath the stylish exterior.

Wilde’s role as Miller will find her in love with and married to Hunt when she meets his friend, actor Richard Burton. Burton and Miller fall in love and the actor infamously paid Hunt $1 million as a divorce settlement that Miller owed. Crowe has not signed on but is reportedly the actor wanted for the part of Burton.

Directed by Ron Howard with a script from Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon, The Queen) filming began in early September in the UK and Germany.

Blake Lively & Leonardo DiCaprio Split – Blake & Ryan Reynolds Rumors Heat Up Again

Blake Lively and Leonardo DiCaprio have split following five months of togetherness.

The pretty pair were first photographed aboard Steven Spielberg‘s yacht in May during the Cannes Film Festival with Lively and DiCaprio taking romantic strolls throughout Europe.

The 24 year-old Gossip Girl star made at least one trip down under to hang with the 36 year-old actor as he filmed Baz Lurhman‘s adaptation of The Great Gatsby. Lively was thought to be the frontrunner to land the role of Daisy in the flick until Carey Mulligan was cast.

A source told People magazine the breakup was “amicable.”

Lively didn’t stay out of the spotlight long. The Savages actress was spotted with her Green Lantern costar Ryan Reynolds in Boston, riding the train together and grabbing sushi at O Ya restaurant.

Ellen DeGeneres & Portia De Rossi Show Off Their Home In November’s Architectural Digest

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi give readers a glimpse of their super gorgeous home in the November issue of Architectural Digest.

The Beverly Hills home was recently put on the market for $49 million but DeGeneres and de Rossi opened the doors of the 9 bedroom mansion on 2.78 acres for AD before listing the property.

DeGeneres tells AD she has a hard time keeping track of the homes she’s owned – 7 in the last 7 years, one for each year of her relationship with de Rossi – but she mentions how her father dreamed of owning and not renting.

“We never had a house when I was growing up,” DeGeneres explains, settling into an armchair on one of several terraces with panoramic views of L.A. “We always rented. But my father would dream, and we used to look at houses all the time. I’d pick out which bedroom would be mine and get all excited.”

DeGeneres & de Rossi purchased the home in 2007 from Will & Grace creator Max Mutchnick after he invited the couple over to watch American Idol. Previous owners of the 9,200 square foot home include Oscar nominated actor Laurence Harvey and Joan Collins.

Johnny Depp Compares A Photo Shoot To Rape – Angers Advocacy Groups

Johnny Depp has found himself in some hot water for comments he made in the November issue of Vanity Fair.

The 48 year-old actor discussed how he felt “raped” after doing a photo shoot with the magazine.

“Well, you just feel like you’re being raped somehow,” Depp said. “Raped … It feels like a kind of weird — just weird, man… Whenever you have a photo shoot or something like that, it’s like — you just feel dumb. It’s just so stupid.”

Comparing an intrusive photography session to a violent act of rape has upset victim’s groups with RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) speaking out against the actor’s choice of words.

“While photos may feel at times intrusive, being photographed in no way compares to rape — a violent crime which affects another American every 2 minutes,” Katherine Hull, spokesperson for RAINN said in a statement.

“RAINN welcomes the opportunity to speak with Mr. Depp and educate him about the real life experiences faced by survivors every day, and ways that he can work with RAINN to help.”

Depp finds himself in the same category Kristen Stewart did in the spring of 2010 after her remarks to British Elle where she compared rape to the way she felt after the intrusive paparazzi took photos of her.

The analogy is off-base and Johnny will likely apologize. He has never come across as a thoughtless celebrity so I imagine he will issue a statement regretting his choice of words.

NBC Cancels ‘Playboy Club’ – Hugh Hefner Disappointed ‘It Didn’t Find It’s Audience’

NBC has pulled the trigger first and The Playboy Club is kaput – making it the first casualty of the new Fall TV shows with only three episodes aired.

The show is one of two major network offerings (the other is ABC‘s Pan Am) that tried to pull off a Mad Men vibe and perhaps ride that wave of success but the Amanda Heard/Eddie Cibrian starring show didn’t stand a chance.

The inspiration for the show, Hugh Hefner, tweeted his disappointment with the decision.

“I’m sorry NBC’s “The Playboy Club” didn’t find it’s audience. It should have been on cable, aimed at a more adult audience,” Hef said.

NBC’s decision to launch the drama on Monday night and pit it against already established shows Castle and Hawaii Five-0 plus the drama that the PTC (Parents Television Council) stirred up regarding the content, Playboy Club seemed dead in the water from the start.

Low premiere ratings coupled with dropping viewership for each successive show combined to cancel the fledgling drama.

NBC will begin airing another drama, Prime Suspect with Maria Bello in it’s 10pm time slot starting October 17th.
