Steven Tyler’s Shower Fall Wasn’t Because He Fell Off The Wagon

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

He may be bruised and sporting a black eye, but Steven Tyler assures everyone he’s still on the wagon.

The 63 year-old singer was in Paraguay to perform with Aerosmith when he took a spill in the shower, leaving him with cuts and bruises and two broken teeth.

Tyler says the fall was because of a nasty case of food poisoning – not because the recovering addict had gone back to drugs.

“I started to get sick and I fell on my face and I just passed out.”

“I woke up with the water running on me … and the next thing you know my tour manager was calling the American Embassy and we found the best hospital,” the American Idol judge told Matt Lauer during a phone interview with the Today Show.

Tyler was hospitalized on Tuesday and recieved stitches above his eye and cosmetic dental work to repair his broken teeth.

The Tuesday performance was cancelled but by Wednesday, Tyler was up and rockin’ the stage to a record-breaking crowd.

“We rocked,” Tyler added. “We broke the house record. So not only did I break my face but the next night we broke the house record. Life is beautiful.”

Melissa McCarthy Is Entertainment Weekly’s Queen Of Comedy

Melissa McCarthy

Comedienne Melissa McCarthy scored the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s Comedy Issue.  The magazine’s “New Queen Of Comedy” channels a familiar British monarch in her cover photo.  While we’re pretty sure Queen Elizabeth has probably never flashed a peace sign, we are certain of one thing: McCarthy is one funny lady.

In her interview with EW, she reveals her comedy inspirations – Gilda Radner, Jane Curtin and Carol Burnett – and admits that she went through a pretty intense goth phase in high school.   McCarthy also shares how her recent turn in the spotlight has got her making some adjustments to her body image.

“Do I sometimes hope I wake up in the morning and people are like, ‘What’s wrong with her? She looks emaciated.’ Of course I would love that. I’m such a clothes whore I would love the opportunity to be a hanger. But I think I’m more confident than I’ve ever felt in my life.”

Catch her full photo shoot and interview in EW, on newsstands now.

Amy Winehouse Died Of Alcohol Poisoning, Coroner Says

Three months after Amy Winehouse‘s untimely death, the London coroner has determined that the singer died of accidental alcohol poisoning.

An inquest held this week revealed that Winehouse’s blood alcohol level was well over the amount considered fatal, but ruled out suicide.   Her personal physician testified that she had just seen the singer the night before she died, and she’d expressed no thoughts of killing herself.    Dr. Cynthia Romete said:

“She was calm, she was coherent, she was tipsy but she didn’t slur and she was able to hold a full conversation,’ she said. ‘I wasn’t concerned that she was suicidal, she hadn’t expressed a wish to die.  ‘She had clearly said, “I do not want to die” and she talked about the future.”

Dr. Romete revealed that Winehouse was making strides in her battle with alcohol addiction, and that she had not used illegal drugs since 2008.   Although three empty vodka bottles were found nearby the singer’s body, there were no illegal drugs found in her system when she died.

Winehouse’s parents, Mitch and Janis Winehouse, issued this statement following the inquest:

‘Amy was battling hard to conquer her problems with alcohol and it is a source of great pain to us that she could not win in time.’

Kristen Stewart Says ‘Breaking Dawn’ Sex Scene Originally Received An ‘R’ Rating

How hot is Breaking Dawn going to be?

Well, steamy for sure – even though it’s rated PG-13, star Kristen Stewart tells Glamour UK that wasn’t the case originally. She and real-life love, Robert Pattinson‘s on screen sex scene was so hot, the ratings board slapped the teen-friendly film with an ‘R’ rating.

“It was so weird, it didn’t even feel like we were doing a Twilight film. I was like, ‘Bella! What are you doing? Wow! What is happening here?!’”It was very surreal. We [originally] got rated R. They re-cut it.”

Stewart also says she’s really trying to maintain some privacy in her off screen love life and isn’t interested in giving away details for public consumption.

“It’s funny when this question comes up, because I sort of feel like, I don’t really care! People can say whatever they want. [The interest] is totally understandable, but when it’s personal to you, it’s like your life becomes a product, and I’m repelled by that. I don’t like to give away gems that people are gonna be like, Oh my God!’ So I’ll always just shrug it off – in fact, I always find it kind of funny, and not just with Rob.”

Stewart is currently filming Snow White and The Huntsman in the UK. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 hits theaters on November 18th.

Kristen’s Glamour UK issue is on sale November 3rd.

Nicole Scherzinger Warms Up Winter For London Fog

Nicole Scherzinger

If you’re in the market for a winter coat, London Fog hopes Nicole Scherzinger can convince you to buy one of theirs.  The X Factor judge has replaced Christina Hendricks as the face of the brand for their Winter 2011 campaign.

Iconix Brand Group, London Fog’s parent company, cites Scherzinger”s “fierce sense of style” as one of the reasons for the switch, and admits concedes that while Hendricks was very “classic and tailored,” their new model is more “of the moment.”

Despite its name, London Fog was founded in the United States in 1927.   In addition to Hendricks, they’ve worked with a number of sexy celebrities in the recent past, including Eva Longoria and Gisele Bundchen.

WATCH: Danny Devito, Taylor Swift & Zac Efron In Dr. Seuss’ Colorful ‘The Lorax’

Dr. Seuss‘ environmental fable, The Lorax is coming to the big screen in a brightly colored world of 3D and CGI animation in the spring of 2012 and the first trailer is here.

Zac Efron voices the boy (named Ted in the film) and Taylor Swift is Ashley, the girl he has a crush on who wants nothing more than to see the Truffala Trees in the natural world.

Danny Devito is the “furry peanut” The Lorax, Betty White is Ted’s grandmother and Ed Helms will bring the Once-ler to life.

The trailer gives a glimpse at the tale Seuss was telling – the industrial and consumerist society that destroys the natural world – while trying to fill out the hour-plus long time the film will run with humor and remain true to the story.

Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul are the writers for this adaptation and the duo also worked on Horton Hears A Who and Despicable Me.

Carrie Ann Inaba Says Monday’s ‘DWTS’ Drama Is Her Fault For Wearing Red!

Dancing With The Stars erupted this week when pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy took judge Len Goodman to task for his criticism of his dance partner Hope Solo.

‘Mad Maks’ ripped Goodman for what her termed “disrespectful” as the judge told Solo and Chmerkovskiy their rumba was “the worst” he’s seen the pair do all season.

The drama continued on Tuesday when eliminated contestant Chaz Bono accused judge Bruno Tonioli of being offensive to him for comparing him to ” a basketball, a penguin, and an Ewok” and saying the show treats a man trying to lose weight differently than a woman.

The one judge who remained above the fray was Carrie Ann Inaba, but oddly enough she said she was the reason for the verbal drama.

“Okay, I’m going to tell you guys something funny,” the judge told Access Hollywood. “What happens is whenever I wear red something very strange happens.”

“I’m serious, if you actually go back and look through shows for some reason when I wear red it makes people upset or myself I get upset or…it’s strange.”

Inaba told the hosts she’s ending the drama because she won’t wear red again this season.
