Rapper Soulja Boy was arrested in Georgia early Tuesday morning, October 18, after a routine traffic stop revealed more than he and his passengers bargained for.

Soulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was riding in an SUV near Temple, Georgia, with four other occupants.   They were pulled over due to a broken light on their vehicle.  The Times-Georgian reports that the officer found “handguns, less than $50,000 in cash and more than five ounces of marijuana” in the car, which was a rental and was being driven by a hired driver.  A puppy was also evidently found in the car.

The men were all charged with three crimes:  felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.  Way’s bond was set at $10,000 and he was released on Tuesday afternoon after posting bail.

Alicia Keys and hubby Swizz Beatz had a bit of a date night this weekend at the opening night of the Broadway play “The Mountaintop.”    The couple joined a cavalcade of celebrities at the play, including Star Jones, Gayle King, Magic Johnson, Gabourey Sidibe, Justin Long, and Spike Lee.

“The Mountaintop” stars Samuel L. Jackson and Angela Bassett, and tells the story of an encounter between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and a (fictional) hotel chambermaid on the night before the civil rights leader was killed.

Robert Downey Jr. was honored at the 25th Cinematheque Award gala in Beverly Hills over the weekend and the star took time out to give a tribute to his friend, actor Mel Gibson.

Downey Jr., who came to the ceremony with his wife Susan, was able to choose who he wanted to present the award and he opted for Mel, the man who insured him back in 2003 when, after his own very public addiction issues and arrests, wasn’t able to work in the industry he loved.

The Iron Man actor made it clear he feels the time has come for Hollywood to forgive Gibson for his anti-Semitic rants and spousal abuse and to let him get on with his career.

““I asked Mel to present this award for me for a reason,” Downey said during his acceptance speech. “When I couldn’t get sober, he told me not to give up hope and encouraged me to find my faith. It didn’t have to be his or anyone else’s as long as it was rooted in forgiveness. And I couldn’t get hired, so he cast me in the lead of a movie that was actually developed for him. He kept a roof over my head and food on the table and most importantly he said if I accepted responsibility for my wrongdoing and embraced that part of my soul that was ugly – hugging the cactus he calls it — he said that if I hugged the cactus long enough, I’d become a man.”

Downey Jr. went on to say that Hollywood shouldn’t throw stones and offer Gibson a “clean slate.”

It’s not even Halloween yet, but Justin Bieber is all ready to celebrate Christmas with you.   He’s just released “Mistletoe,” the first single from his upcoming holiday album, Under The Mistletoe.

Emma Watson is back to college after taking last semester off, this time she’s in England.

The Harry Potter star is enrolled at Brown University but is spending a semester abroad and is doing so at one of the premiere universities of the world – Oxford.

The 21 year-old posted a message to fans on her blog and a photo of her going back-to-school outfit: jeans, plaid flannel shirt, boots and khaki jacket with fur trim.

“To Everyone who is starting a New School Year, (sorry those who have been at school for a while Oxford starts late)

Just to say have a great term and good luck with all your work.
You might not hear from me for a while because I will be really busy studying but I wanted to just say hi and bye : )

Angela Bassett and Samuel L. Jackson bring their significant star power to Katori Hall‘s Broadway play “The Mountaintop.”   The play, which opened at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on  October 13, is a “reimagining” of the night before Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in Memphis.

Angela plays a hotel chambermaid named Camae, while Samuel plays the civil rights leader.  They both looked incredible on opening night.  I’d like to know what kind of deal Angela has made with the devil, because girl just doesn’t age.  It’s ridiculous.

Samuel recently told the Wall Street Journal how he prepared to play Dr. King.

“I spent an inordinate amount of time searching for interviews and just conversations that he’d had with people so I could hear what his speaking voice was and not his oratory voice, because I’m in a hotel room, he’s not giving a speech, he’s kind of relaxed.  I sort of discovered a speaking pattern that works for me and hopefully the exploration of his fears and his hopes for the country when he’s not giving a speech will come through very well for people when they see the play.”

The play sounds fascinating and is getting wildly positive reviews.   Lots of photos from opening night after the jump.

Demi Moore attended the New York premiere of Margin Call at the Landmark Sunshine Theater on Monday night and while the actress was wearing her wedding ring, she appeared gaunt and worryingly thin on the red carpet.

Moore, 48, wore a red leopard print dress from Zac Posen. She wore black velvet with silver studs Brian Atwood pumps and a clutch to complete her look.

Amid the speculation of her marriage troubles to Two and A Half Men star Ashton Kutcher, the actress’ looks to have lost a dramatic amount of weight. Kutcher is alleged to have cheated on Moore with a 22 year-old coed Sara Leal.

The two recently went on a camping trip with a Kabbalah instructor in an attempt to patch up the damage Kutcher is alleged to have done.

Whatever the drama, it appears to have taken it’s toll on Moore in a drastic and unhealthy way.

Mitchel Musso, Miley Cyrus‘ former costar in the super successful show Hannah Montana has been popped for DUI in Burbank, California.

The actor, who is 20 years-old and under the legal drinking age, was stopped on October 16th after he was directed to slow down by an officer on the scene of an accident.

“He drove through the intersection and failed to do what the officer instructed him to do,” Burbank Sgt. Sean Kelley said.

Musso was then pulled over where police say they noticed a “strong odor of alcohol” and he failed the field sobriety test. He also blew well over the legal limit .08 in a breathalyzer test that was administered, according to TMZ.

The actor and singer was booked on the DUI charge and then released for $5,000 in bail. No word on if he will be charged for underage drinking.

Musso stars in two current Disney shows, Prank Stars and Pair of Kings. He also voices a character on Phineas and Ferb.

Jennifer Aniston wowed onlookers last night when she stepped out to ELLE’s 18th Annual Women In Hollywood Tribute event held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.

The 42 year-old actress was stunning in a short silver sequined dress with plunging neckline and open back from Kaufmanfranco.

Aniston added strappy Balenciaga sandals, a clutch from Ferragamo and Fred Leighton jewels. Her perfectly tousled blonde locks capped off an effortlessly sexy look.

The Horrible Bosses star was one of the actresses honored for her contribution to film. She is also the cover model for the magazine’s November issue and shared how she stood up for a script supervisor who didn’t deserve the treatment they were getting from a director.

“I threw a chair at a director,” Jennifer said. “It wasn’t my proudest moment. He was treating a script supervisor horribly… When the director walked in, I threw a chair at him. I missed, of course. I was like, ‘You can’t speak to people like that.’ I can’t tolerate it.”

Bad boy actor Shia LaBeouf is going to give the make-up artists on his movie set a lot to deal with after getting in a brawl on the streets of Vancouver last night.

TMZ reports that LaBeouf, 25, is in the Canadian city filming Robert Redford‘s latest flick The Company You Keep and has been a regular at Cinema Public House, according to the proprietors.

Last night the actor and another unidentified man got into an argument inside the bar and both were kicked out. After being thrown out, the man, who is shirtless in the video, gets a hold of Shia and delivers a few punches to the actor, including at least one directly to his head.

LaBeouf is balled up on the ground as another man pulls off the shirtless dude. LaBeouf is taken away by a friend who grabs him and another guy who calmly tells him to “lay low.”

Alcohol-fueled arguments were quite the problem for the Transformers actor as RadarOnline reports LaBeouf found himself in confrontations with no less than three different people inside the Cinema Public House that evening.

LaBeouf continues to find himself in one fight or another after indulging in alcohol. He was escorted out of a party in August for getting into a beef with a friend of Marilyn Manson‘s.
