Miley Cyrus could be a bridesmaid very soon.

Her older brother, Trace Cyrus has announced he is engaged to his girlfriend, actress Brenda Song.

“I am very excited to say, last week I asked my girlfriend Brenda Song to marry me and she said YES! We are both very excited to be engaged!” Trace tweeted.

Trace, 22, and Brenda, 23, have been dating for over a year and in August it was rumored that Song was pregnant with his child. Neither celeb or their reps ever confirmed or denied the reports.

Song starred in the Disney TV show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and was seen in The Social Network last fall.

Trace and his father, Billy Ray Cyrus will host a show on the Syfy network UFO: Unbelievably Freakin’ Obvious - a program where the two will investigate (and possibly debunk) conspiracy theories.

If Julia Roberts looked a little too somber at the premiere of Fireflies In The Garden, her co-star Hayden Panettiere more than made up for it.    She chose a toga-styled, one-shouldered mini dress by Jenny Packham for the event.  The silver fabric picked up plenty of light, but Hayden’s mirrored Christian Louboutins really stood out.

I’m not liking this look on her at all.   I mean, she’s young, she has a cute body, if anyone can wear tiny sparkly dresses, why not Hayden?  But she looks really uncomfortable here, like she’s obsessively thinking, “What piece of my dress is going to cause a wardrobe malfunction first?”  Because you know something is going to happen.   Maybe part of the problem is that I don’t really care for this dress – it even looked strange on the runway model.  But I do think that there are plenty of other fun, young dresses she could have chosen and yet she went with this one.  Why?

OK, so it’s not that serious.  But what are celebrities for if not to talk about what they wear?  And her dress aside, I think Hayden looks really pretty.

Julia Roberts looked happy but a bit subdued at the U.S. premiere of Fireflies In The Garden.  She wore a simple black dress with a ruffled skirt, and a tuxedo-style blazer to the event.  A fairly fitting look to premiere a serious film about a family struggling with loss and learning how to reconcile with each other.

Never heard of this movie?  You’re not the only one.  The film was originally premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2008, but was just released domestically this week.

Katie Holmes is set to guest star on How I Met Your Mother‘s Halloween episode!   Having Katie on the show is fun, even if it is a bit of stunt casting, but what’s even better is that she plays a character that many fans never thought they’d get to see.  Katie will portray the Slutty Pumpkin, a girl that Ted (Josh Radnor) met at a Halloween party years ago.  He’s attended the same party year after year, wearing the same costume, hoping to run into her again.  This is apparently his lucky year.

How did the show’s creator, Craig Thomas, decide to cast Katie as the near-mythological Slutty Pumpkin?  He said:

“Katie is a lovely and talented actress, which is why we’ve saved for her perhaps the most classily named character in our show’s history.”

Will Slutty Pumpkin turn out to be The Mother we’ve all been waiting six seasons to meet?  You’ll have to tune in on October 31 to find out.

Macy’s Herald Square store was the scene on Thursday for the launch of Taylor Swift‘s first foray into the world of celebrity fragrance with her sweet offering: Wonderstruck.

Swift wore a black and silver striped sheer overlay with white slip dress from Tracy Reese and Miu Miu peep toe heels.

The 21 year-old singer said she having a scent of her own was something she wanted for a long time.

“I always wanted to have a fragrance ever since I started making music,” Swift shared at the launch. “I love how it has such an impact on people’s memories.”

Taylor also spilled she’s a fan of and is interested in collaborating with Bruno Mars, because “he has an incredible voice.”

Amber Heard turned heads on the red carpet at the premiere of The Rum Diary held at the LACMA (the Los Angeles County Museum of Art) in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 13th.

The 25 was stunning in a strapless cherry red gown gathered at the waist with thigh-high slit from Elie Saab. Heard wore nude heels from Christian Louboutin for the perfect accent.

The Playboy Club actress pulled her hair back in a neat bun and her make-up was flawless.

Diary is based on Hunter S. Thompson‘s (Johnny Depp) time as a reporter in 1950s Puerto Rico who runs afoul of a corrupt business man (played by Aaron Eckhart) and an obsession with the fiance (Heard) of that man.

The Rum Diary opens in theaters October 28th.

Sean Penn was photographed looking intense and intimidating while getting ready to film scenes for his upcoming drama The Gangster Squad in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The period crime drama stars Penn, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Josh Brolin with Penn playing Brooklyn-born crime boss Mickey Cohen. (See photos of Ryan and Emma in costume looking ridiculously gorgeous here)

Cohen had the LAPD and politicians of the 1940s under his influence until outsider detectives John O’Mara (Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Gosling) came along.

The film is based on a seven-part article published in the Los Angeles Times written by Paul Lieberman.

The Gangster Squad has a release date of October 19, 2012.

Dancing diva Julianne Hough is girl-next-door sexy on the cover of Self‘s November issue.

Hough, 23, shared with the magazine about her relationship with boyfriend Ryan Seacrest, her fitness routine and how her dad checks in with her to keep her grounded:

On when it was right to get together with Ryan: “A couple of years ago, my dad asked me if, when I’m on the road by myself, no boyfriend, no family, no dogs to comfort me, I am happy with who I am. That stuck with me. If you don’t know yourself, you can’t really love anybody. Today, I am really happy with who I am and feel like I’m in the right place. I’d met Ryan many times over the years, but we got together at the right time.”

On keeping herself interested when it comes to fitness: “I vary my workouts every day because, otherwise, I get bored. I always try to run for 20 to 40 minutes on the beach first. Six days a week is fantastic, but four is great too … I grew up mountain biking in Utah, and I’ve been doing it more recently since working in Miami. I crave danger. I find going fast exhilarating! I adore snowboarding, skiing, and skydiving.”

On how her father checks in with her: “As a teen, I wanted to break free like Ariel in Footloose. My dad is protective. He texts, ‘Right place, right time, doing the right thing?’ That’s still his way of checking in on me.”

Footloose, starring Hough, Kenny Wormald, Dennis Quaid and Andie McDowell opens in theaters today, October 14th.

Any of us who were teenagers in the late 1980s have an opinion about The Princess Bride.  If you’re a chick, you probably love it.  If you’re a dude, chances are you hate it, because you could never live up to Westley’s standard and what’s worse, chicks always want to watch it every time it comes on TV.   (Never mind that YOU always want to watch The Fugitive whenever it’s on.  But that’s a whole other story.)

For those of us who hold TPB close to our younger selves’ hearts, Entertainment Weekly has reunited the 1987 film’s cast for a playful and dramatic photoshoot.   Featured are Robin Wright, Cary Elwes, Billy Crystal, Wallace Shawn, Mandy Patinkin, Carol Kane, Chris Sarandon and Christopher Guest.  Some notable figures are missing:  Andre the Giant, who died in 1993; Peter Falk, who died this past June; and Fred Savage, who just didn’t feel like showing up, or something.

The new season of The Bachelor is coming up, and ABC wants to make sure you’re good and ready to drool by the time the season premiere airs in January. They’ve released the first promo photo of their new piece of meat, Benjamin Flajnik.

Ben is not so new to many viewers, actually. He proposed to, and was rejected by, Ashley Hebert, on the last season of The Bachelorette.  The network says that he’s put all that heartbreak behind him and is ready to “move on with his life, his phenomenal success as a businessman and his search for the right woman to be his wife and to start a family with.”

Ms. Right will be a lucky girl indeed:  Ben is a winemaker in beautiful Sonoma County, California.  His winery, Evolve Winery, produces a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Sauvignon Blanc from organic, sustainably grown grapes.  He’s not a bad looking guy, either.  There are definitely worse gigs out there.  Definitely.
