In between being a mother to six children and one of the world’s most sought after actresses, Angelina Jolie squeezed out some time to be the beautiful cover star for the January issue of Marie Claire.

The 36 year-old first-time director was photographed by Alexei Hay for the magazine and spoke about her life and career:

On life with her partner, Brad Pitt: “Brad has expanded my life in ways I never imagined. We built a family. He is not just the love of my life, he is my family.”

On having a chance to work with other women in her film, In the Land of Blood and Honey: “It was nice for me to play with other girls; I don’t really have girlfriends in movies, if you’ve noticed… Well, I have a few girlfriends, I just… I stay at home a lot. I’m just not very social. I don’t do a lot with them, and I’m very homebound.”

On possibly leaving acting behind: “I woke up one day realizing, God, I’m an actor. I don’t think I intended to be an actor. I think my mother wanted it for me. I loved telling stories, and I enjoyed the profession, but is it too late to be something else?”

Jolie also said she and Pitt haven’t ruled out having another child saying they have “nothing planned” right now.

Jolie’s Marie Claire issue hits newsstands on December 20th.

Her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey, is out December 23rd.

She’s transformed her glamorous, young Hollywood starlet style for that of a goth computer hacker for her role as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and it wasn’t just camera tricks and costuming that actress Rooney Mara left with.

The 26 year-old shaved her head and had her ears, lip, nose, eyebrow and right nipple pierced to keep the authenticity of the character’s look from the popular Millenium series of books by Swedish author Stieg Larsson.

Mara tells Allure magazine’s January 2012 issue the piercings weren’t that big of a deal for her:

“It was actually not that painful. Everyone thinks that would be the most painful,” Mara said of piercing her nipple.

“I’m naked quite a lot in the movie. And I thought, She has it in the book, and she should have it [in the movie]. Because of all the tattoos and the makeup and the piercings, and the physical transformations my body has to go through, it would always feel sort of like I was in costume, even if I was naked. It just felt like a good one to get — a necessary one to get.”

Mara said before she’s enjoyed the transformation and it has changed how she dresses.

“Before, I dressed much girlier,” she told Vogue earlier this year. “A lot of blush-colored things. Now I literally roll out of bed and put on whatever is there. I have really enjoyed being a boy this last year.”

Mara’s issue of Allure is on sale December 20th.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, directed by David Fincher and starring Mara, Daniel Craig, Stellan Skarsgard and Robin Wright opens in theaters the same day.

Giuliana Rancic is recovering and “doing well” after undergoing surgery on Tuesday.

The E! News host had a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery performed this week after radiation treatment and lumpectomies failed to eradicate her breast cancer.

Rancic’s cancer was discovered when she was asked by her fertility doctor to take a precautionary breast exam earlier this year as part of the in vitro fertilization pre-screening process.

Her husband, Bill Rancic told E! News his wife was progressing well after the operation.

“G is doing really well,” he said. “Her surgery lasted about four hours and the doctors were very pleased with the result.”

Although he said she felt more pain than expected, Bill said she’s “already cracking jokes.”

Giuliana has tried to maintain a positive attitude throughout her illness and hopes to have better self-steem by the end.

‘Mastectomy’ the word seemed so scary to me at first. After doing research and seeing the advancements, the surgery has come a long way from 20 years ago,”she said.

“The results can be incredible. Not only can it save your life, but you can come out feeling healthier and with a positive self-image.”

A new poster for the third and final movie in Christopher Nolan‘s Batman franchise, The Dark Knight Rises, has been released.   Captioned “The Legend Ends,” the poster shows a gloomy, rainy scene with Batman’s broken mask lying on the ground while the movie’s villain, Bane, walks away.

The image and caption, along with star Christian Bale‘s confirmation that he’s finished with the role of Bruce Wayne, have some wondering if Nolan has actually killed off Batman.   While it may not be an actual death, if Nolan stays true to the mythology, something tragic is going to happen:  in the “Knightfall” story arc from The Batman comic books, Bane breaks Batman’s back, leaving him crippled.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the film’s release next summer.  Nolan says he welcomes the anticipation and hype:

“It’s terrific, to have people that interested in something. It reminds you that it is a real honor to work on something that means so much to people.  I’d love to be able to claim that I invented the whole thing and that’s why they’re interested. I did not. I’ve been given a very precious thing to do my best with, to look after and not to let people down. There’s a certain amount of fear that comes with it and intimidation but it’s also a great privilege. [As for the fans], they want it to be great, they want to go enjoy it and they’re fascinated by it. You know, there’s always controversy regarding things that people will disagree with but hopefully they appreciate the effort of trying to make something good.”

Criminalist Catherine Willows of the Las Vegas Police Department has has collected her last DNA sample.  Marg Helgenberger, who has played the role since CSI‘s premiere in 2000,  wrapped her 263rd – and last – episode of the show on Wednesday.

She was sent off in style with a party, where her castmates presented her with some mementos,  including Catherine’s vest and badge.  Helgenberger commented:

“I’ve been thinking a lot about this moment for a very long time.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the time of my life.”

Despite the high emotion, Helgenberger was still able to crack a joke.  She said:

“I won’t miss swabbing inside of someone’s mouth.”

Harry Potter‘s Daniel Radcliffe has been named Entertainment Weekly‘s 2011 Entertainer Of The Year.  He heads an impressive group of stars who comprise the magazine’s annual list of “the most talented and original performers who entertained us this year.”

No surprise, Radcliffe won the top spot for his performance in Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2, the final installment in the monstrously successful franchise.

Other entertainers on the list include Adele, Matt Stone & Trey Parker, Viola Davis and author George R. R. Martin.

The Entertainers Of The Year issue will hit newsstands tomorrow.

That didn’t take long!  In August, singer Sinead O’Connor wrote in the Irish Independent that she was in “desperate need of a very sweet, sex-starved man.”  Evidently she found what she was looking for, because she’s getting married today, on her 45th birthday.

She posted the news on her website:

With enormous joy myself and my beloved boyfriend Barry Herridge will be getting married tomorrow, December 8th 2011 at ‘an un-disclosed location’ in my absolute dream wedding ceremony. We will post a photo or two here on the site as soon as possible afterward.
Very happy girl. : )

Despite the secrecy regarding the venue, the wedding is expected to take place in Las Vegas.   This will be the fourth marriage for O’Connor, who has four children.    Herridge is reportedly a substance abuse counselor.

Giuliana Rancic has decided to have a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery next week.

The E! Fashion Police co-host has already had a double lumpectomy and radiation but not all the cancerous cells were able to be removed, prompting her to choose the mastectomy.

Giuliana told The Wendy Williams Show she believed she would feel better about herself after it was all done.

“Listen, I love my girls, but I’m gonna feel more like a woman when this is all done,” Rancic said.

She also shared she feels “scars are beautiful. I think scars tell a story.”

The 37 year-old found out she had breast cancer while undergoing screening tests for in vitro fertilization. She and her husband, Bill Rancic have been trying to have a child for a while with her first time sadly ending in miscarriage.

Bill and Giuliana appeared on The Today Show and he said the couple is hoping for a holiday free of cancer and surgeries.

“Our goal is to be done with this by Christmastime and not look back,” he said.

Giuliana is keeping her spirits up and has an upbeat attitude for the outcome.

“It’s important to me to get the cancer out…” she said. ‘Mastectomy’ the word seemed so scary to me at first. After doing research and seeing the advancements, the surgery has come a long way from 20 years ago.”

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards has checked into rehab for alcohol abuse and “other problems” according to reports.

The 47 year-old reality show participant is at an undisclosed treatment facility working on her issues and it’s been revealed, this isn’t the first time she’s sought help.

“Kim has been to rehab more than once before,” a source tells People magazine, “but every time is a new time, and everyone just hopes this sticks and that she gets the help she needs. It’s serious.”

Adding to her problems, Kim may be homeless. Richards is no longer living with her boyfriend Ken, whom Kim was recently seen moving in with on the BRAVO show. She was staying with various friends before entering the rehab facility.

Richards erratic behavior was called out by her sister, Kyle Richards, on the finale of season 1 of the show.

After fighting with Kyle during a party, the two continued their argument in the back of a limo where Kyle screamed at Kim:

“You’re an alcoholic! Yeah, that’s right. I’ve said it and now everybody knows!”

This season, when Kim was slurring her words and appeared intoxicated during a trip with fellow housewife Adrienne Maloof and her husband Paul Nassif, she later confessed to taking multiple anti-anxiety and anti-seizure medications. Nassif cautioned Richards that the combination could be why it looked like she was drunk.

Olivia Wilde was announced yesterday as the newest brand ambassador for Revlon.  She will front the campaign for the cosmetics company’s PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara as well as a relaunch of ColorStay Eyeshadow Quads, both hitting stores in January.

Wilde appeared at The Lambs Club in New York City for the announcement.  She tole Elle that she’s already a user – and a fan – of the new products.   She said:

“I’m having so much fun playing with the eyeshadow quads—I like mixing all the different colors together.”

The actress joins several other beautiful Revlon brand ambassadors, including Jessica Biel, Halle Berry, Jessica Alba and Elle MacPherson.
