Taylor Swift Donates $4 Million For Children’s Music Education Center In Nashville
Taylor Swift is giving back and in a big way.
The singer/songwriter is donating $4 million to the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN for a children’s education center. The donation is the largest amount gifted by a musician and the second largest from any individual.
The new wing will include three classrooms and an exhibit space which will bear her name – the Taylor Swift Education Center. The project is expected to be opened and completed in 2014.
“We are deeply indebted to Taylor for this wonderful gift, which will help us continue to fulfill our educational mission and serve our worldwide audience,” museum director Kyle Young said in the press release. “It is not an overstatement to say that the Taylor Swift Education Center will have a profound impact on our museum, our new campus, our city and even our country.”
Swift has been generous with her considerable fortune. She has donated money to help flood victims in Iowa and Tennessee, given money to various schools she’s attended and has helped various causes giving relief to victims of tornadoes in the southeast.
