Giada De Laurentiis Is Clariol Natural Intstinct’s Latest Brand Ambassador
She’s an author, mother and wife, TV host, chef to celebrities and royalty, and has her own line of cooking products at Target; Giada De Laurentiis has quite a lot on her plate but she isn’t afraid to add one more: brand ambassador for Clariol’s Natural Instincts hair coloring products.
“It’s so exciting,” De Laurentiis told People. “I’ve been wanting this for a long time.”
“I went into a field that, 10 or 15 years ago, wasn’t that glamorous,” she says. “I remember my own family saying, ‘You’re petite, a woman, you don’t have big muscles, you can’t hack it in the kitchen with men.’ But I think breaking down such walls, allowing people to believe they can do whatever it is they want to do, is what I do.”
Giada is a great spokesperson for Clariol and highlights the best aspects of the product:
“Giada is a great fit for Natural Instincts,” said Brad Wadler, Marketing Director for Hair Color at Procter & Gamble said in a press release. “Giada has a similar philosophy to our brand – a commitment to finding the perfect balance between indulgence on one hand, and less guilt on the other. Natural Instincts stands for these things; it gives women indulgent and radiant looking hair color and it includes antioxidants, aloe and vitamin.”
De Laurentiis, who is a mentor and team leader on The Next Food Network Star, says that she never used box hair color before landing this gig but was pleasantly surprised by the product.
“I used to let the sun color my hair,” she says. “But my brother was diagnosed with melanoma and died a year later. So I stopped going in the sun completely and started coloring my hair.”
Now she uses color for highlights and to cover the occasional gray — but admits she’d never used boxed color until last week. “I have to say,” she shares, “it’s very soft and very shiny. For someone who puts their hair through a lot, it feels really good.”
Watch for Giada’s first commercial to air in July.
Giada’s latest cookbook, Weeknights with Giada, hit the NY Times Bestsellers list and her show Food Network show Giada at Home is one of the channel’s most popular.
