The Dark Knight Rises star Christian Bale made an under-the-radar and welcome visit to the shooting victims of the Aurora, Colorado theater massacre.
Bale went to the hospital where many are still recovering and spent time with the injured. He also met with medical staff and police who responded to the tragedy, spending about 2 1/2 hours at the Medical Center of Aurora.
“The patients were really happy to meet Bale,” hospital interim president Bill Voloch told the Denver Post. “They are obviously big fans of his movies. They wanted to see Batman and were really pleased to see Bale.”
One of the shooting victims, Carey Rottman, posted a photo of the Welsh actor with him in the hospital to his Facebook page.
Bale and his wife, Sibi Blazic went to the makeshift memorial of the 12 crosses that commemorate those slain by alleged gunman James Holmes.
