MTV Reviving ‘House Of Style’
Vintage 90s style is getting a reboot from MTV.
Just like it did with Bevis & Butthead and Punk’d, the network is pulling out House of Style and giving it a makeover for today’s audience including launching it on all the network’s formats.
MTV says the new version will retain it’s quirky sense of style.
“House of Style is deeply rooted in celebrating and drawing energy from our audience’s mix-and-match love of fashion, music and pop culture,” Dave Sirulnick, executive vice president of MTV News and Docs, told The Hollywood Reporter.
MTV will get the revival going on August 7th when a documentary of the series hits the airwaves. Look for clips featuring Tood Oldham, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Sophia Coppola, Spike Jonze and Winona Ryder among the celebs you will see from their time on the show.
Cindy Crawford hosted the show for much of the original series so the big question is who will get the job on this latest incarnation. MTV isn’t divulging any names right now but did say they are talking to “everyone you can think of and anyone you can’t.”
