That’s Mrs. Cooper To You: Lily Allen Relaunches Her Career Under Her Married Name
Lily Allen has been back in the studio, to the delight of her fans. However, you won’t find her forthcoming album in the “A” section of the record store. Allen has officially changed her professional name to Lily Rose Cooper.
Allen’s Twitter followers won’t be surprised: following her 2011 wedding to Sam Cooper, Allen began using the handle @lilyrosecooper.
The singer has been writing new songs and is preparing to record more of her new material. She said in a press release:
‘It’s great to work at my own pace, with no commitments other than to make music. I’m excited to be heading back into the studio.’
Allen has been on a hiatus from recording and touring since 2009, during which time she’s kept plenty busy. She got married, had a child, and opened a clothing shop called Lucy In Disguise. In 2011, she launched her own record label, In The Name Of, with backing from Sony. She and Cooper are currently expecting a second child.
