Death Of ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Star Johnny Lewis Ruled Accidental

 Johnny Lewis

A recently-released autopsy report on actor Johnny Lewis indicates that his September death was accidental.

The Sons of Anarchy star died after falling off the roof of the home where he was renting a room, a 15 foot drop.  Investigators believe he was fleeing the scene after killing the owner of the home, 81 year old Catherine Davis, and beating her cat to death. There was speculation that Lewis was under the influence of drugs at the time, but the autopsy found no evidence of any drugs in his system.

The report, written by L.A. County Senior Deputy Medical Examiner James K. Ribe stated:

“Decedent died of a fall.  This caused him to land so his head impacted the concrete driveway.”We do not have definitive evidence that the decedent intended to kill himself. We also do not at this time have any evidence that he was pushed. Therefore, the manner of his death is accidental.”

Lewis had a history of mental illness, and had stopped taking his prescribed medications a few months before his death.  He had multiple run-ins with the law in the months prior, was estranged from his family and was in the midst of a custody battle over his daughter.    He was cremated and buried at sea.
