Don’t Tickle Me, Elmo! Fourth Accuser Comes Forward Against Kevin Clash
This is a bit of news I’ve been cynically expecting while optimistically hoping not to see… Former Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash has been accused by another young man for sexual activity with a minor. And this time, he could find himself slapped with serious criminal charges.
Elmo No More: Kevin Clash Resigns Amid More Sex Scandal
A lawsuit filed Monday claims that Clash flew the underage “S.M.” from Miami to New York for a four-day tryst in 1996. The documents elaborate:
“Clash lured[S.M.] to visit him in New York with promises to pay for his plane ticket, be a ‘dad’ to him in New York and give him cash and a free place to stay.”
According to the plaintiff, who was 16 or 17 at the time, the weekend also included a lot of sex… which he now says caused him “tremendous emotional, mental and psychological damage.”
Third Man Accuses Kevin Clash Of Underage Sexual Relationship
If these new allegations are found true, Clash could be charged with transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of sexual activity, a federal crime.
Three other men – Cecil Singleton, Sheldon Stephens, and an anonymous individual – have come forward with tales of teenage sex with Clash, who was the voice of Sesame Street‘s Elmo for 28 years. Three of the men are represented by Miami attorney Jeff Herman, who exclusively handles sexual abuse cases.
