It’s increasingly common for Hollywood couples to announce their engagement shortly after revealing a pregnancy, and Kim Kardashian and Kanye West would be no exception.  There’s just one pesky little thing standing in the way of their marital bliss:  Kim’s 10 minute marriage to Kris Humphries still hasn’t been dissolved.

No matter.  There’s a way around that, sources say.  Evidently Kim and Kanye are planning a commitment ceremony, to “celebrate their love” while they wait for Humphries to stop being so bitter and settle the divorce already. (Actually, I don’t blame him.  Story for another day.)  It will be much smaller and “a lot more low-key” than a wedding, reports Showbiz Spy, but there will be an exchange of rings.

Confirmed:  Kanye West Knocked Up Kim Kardashian!

Other sources report that Kim doesn’t necessarily feel she must be married to Kanye to “validate having his baby” but she “does not want to be married to another man at the time of the birth.   Part of that might be a legal issue:  under California law, a man is presumed to be the father of a child that is born during his marriage to the baby’s mother, or within 300 days of their divorce.   So corn-fed white boy Kris Humphries would be the presumed father of a half-black baby.  Now that is a perfect set up for a reality show if I ever heard one.
