So on the eve of her elimination, Lil’ Kim and Dancing with the Stars partner Derek Hough dropped by Jimmy Kimmel to discuss getting the boot, what’s next for the rapper, and most importantly - how cute she thinks her biggest DWTS supporter Regis Philbin really is!
Oh yeah, and she kinda reminisces (in present tense no less) about her days in prison. She really is in amazing physical shape - let’s hope she truly capitalizes on this re-discovered relevancy and moves back towards the top of the charts (or at least snags a really dope reality show!)
Lady Gaga was understandably flattered when her hit “Poker Face” was tackled by one of the biggest names in the industry today, Kanye West (for the Kid Cudi track “I Poke Her Face”) but with lyrics like “I make her say ‘oh oh oh oh, oh oh ohhhh oh’ when I.. ‘poke poke poke poke her face’”, was she exactly flattered at the sexual interpretation?
Why yes. In fact, while sitting down with MTV News on the set of her Massachusetts video shoot with Wale for his new single “Chillin”, Gaga confirms her track’s true meaning, laying it out specifically that the song is about a past relationship with a man, in which she used to fantasize about being with a woman. Kinky!

Lil Kim, t-pain
Capitalizing on her Dancing with the Stars fame, hip hop’s most-successful female Lil’ Kim has issued a new music video for a single (appearing on a mixtape release) featuring an illustrated cameo by T-Pain and soul singer Charlie Wilson, “Download”. The single features a singing (and only-sometimes rapping Kim), which I’ve never been too crazy on, but this single just reeks perfection for a product-tie-in.
The reason behind T-Pain’s illustration? The day before he was slated to arrive on-set for the music video, the autotone master was involved in a tooth-breaking incident with a golf cart accident!
Check for the cameo with her DWTS partner Derek Hough.

American Idol
One of the most-successful acts to come from American Idol, the Chris Daughtry-fronted band Daughtry will debut their newest single “No Surprise” on the show next week.
The project to promote? The group’s sophomore album (still untitled), due out July 14th - the sure-fire hit followup to the group’s uber-platinum 2006 debut. The lead single “No Surprise” was co-written with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, so basically, it’s going to be huge.

Christina Aguilera
New news this morning on the Christina Aguilera front, that the man behind her previous hits “Ain’t No Other Man” and “Still Dirrty”, DJ Premiere, has joined the list of collaborators. Posted on the producer’s blog:
“Last night DJ Eclipse was holding a party at LiveFromHQ because we all know DJ Premier is staying at Christina Aguilera’s home with his crew to work on her upcoming album. But you know Preem, he always gives a call to check in! Christina asked him to do two track for the album but they recorded already up to four tracks haha, she said he has to do whatever he feels like doing. Four tracks?! 2009!! And I’ve seen I already got linked to Aguilera’s fan pages, so I got some news for them too. The new album is suppose to release in september. Paparazzi and million Christina fans: get ready. She was suppose to get on the phone but she was going to eat or something. I think Panchi is becoming the new co-host on LiveFromHQ, and damn, this guy is too funny. For real, he is ALWAYS funny. Check “The Panchi Chronicles” for prove, you should pay only to hear his jokes haha. Preem was telling about the major fans at Aguilera’s crib taking pictures and and Panchi was already joking how Preem get out the mansion in his shorts with all the tabloids over there. Whatever, got some more news.. DJ Premier going west-coast? There is going to be a remix of “Ain’t Nuttin’ Changed” with MC Eight and Young Maylay (he is the main character “CJ” in GTA:SA game, Premo is a big fan of him). The video is shot last week also in LA. We’ll hear it in about two weeks. I can only dream about it lol. That’s all folks, stay tuned!”

Jay-Z, Kelly Clarkson
So while Jay-Z doesn’t have a Twitter page, thus lacking random meanderings, he does occasionally blog for RapRadar.com - which this weekend afforded him the opportunity to blog about a recent concert billing alongside Kelly Clarkson and Third Eye Blind at the University of Arizona.
Unusual? Maybe - but as Jay himself says, “There’s NO such thing as black and white music, only good and bad music.”
“On the show as well were Third Eye Blind and Kelly Clarkson … I thought that had to be the oddest pairing ever, but soon realized it’s what I’ve always professed. There’s NO such thing as Black music or White music only Good or Bad music.”
Jay said it was cool to like different things that are outside of your comfort zone. He said this also applies to the world around us and not just music.
“If you’re African American you can have a Jewish friend.” He brought up his own friendship with former Def Jam head/ current Warner Music CEO Lyor Cohen. “The Jew fro and the BLUEprint fro [Afro] are the SAME thing.”
Jay added that he would like to see diverse concerts such as this happen more often, outside of the one or two festivals per year and big radio station summer concerts like Zootopia, held by New York’s Z-100, among many others.
“I’m putting that into the universe,” Jay blogged, adding, “Next up, [a concert with] Taylor Swift and Uncle Murda!”

American Idol
Man, I still think Elliot Yaminshould have won his season of American Idol. For his upcoming album (tentatively slated for a summer release), the R&B singer has released the music video for his lead single “Fight For Love”. Complete with relatable lyrics and a catchy beat hook, the single has staying power. It’s still a little unimpactive that radio will swarm to it, but it’s got potential to usher in a strong sophomore album release.

Easy there, Brandon Flowers! Someone’s got a case of the Kanye-itis. In a new interview with NME.com, the frontman for The Killers claimed the group plans on knocking Nirvana and Led Zepplin“off their pedestals”.
“We’ve been embraced in Britain in a way that I’ll never understand, and it’s such a wonderful thing,” he declared. “But over here [in America], people are still so obsessed with Led Zeppelin and Nirvana, those sorts of bands, that nobody else is allowed [to grow].”
He added: “It’s not just us; there are a lot of great bands that have been held down or confined by the influence of these people that we’ve put up on pedestals. I’m tired of it, you know? I just want to knock them all off! And people don’t like that attitude. It’s almost like they don’t believe that it’s possible that anybody else can be the real deal.
“It doesn’t matter how many great songs we write or how many great shows we play. But we’re slowly chipping away at it. With this last album ['Day And Age'], there’s been a noticeable shift but we’re still nowhere near where we are in Europe.”

Green Day
It seems like all I’ve been blogging about on here lately are tour date confirmations, but I guess ’tis the season! Summer tours are often some of the biggest earnings for an artist, out-grossing their very own album sales even! Unquestionably Green Day won’t be any exception. Timed with the release of their much-anticipated new album 21st Century Breakdown, the group will be in the following cities (after the jump!)

Black Eyed Peas, Music
It’s currently the #1 song on iTunes, so you can’t really fault Busta Rhymes for trying to snag another hit (and some club play) courtesy of a remix of the Black Eyed Peas hit “Boom Boom Pow”.
Personally, it doesn’t really add a whole lot to the already-busy song, but it’s whatever - no matter what’s altered on this record, it’s still a hit we’ll be hearing throughout the summer season.

Check out the Yeah Yeah Yeahs performing their newest single “Zero” on The Late Show with David Letterman.
The second single debut from The Fray, “Never Say Never” insists on remaining melodramatic, with a disaster-survival theme, and well, the group’s by-now trademark mid-tempo sound. Can they do a club banger? Just once? Please?

Avril Lavigne
Pop/punk fans have smartened up since the debut of Avril Lavigne, and even though she’s maintained somewhat of a fan base, it’s safe to say she’s nowhere near being as successful as she once was. Well, according to the somewhat newlwed’s Myspace blog, she’s snagged a gig as the Canadian Ambassador for the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China.
Hey Everyone,
On Friday, I was in Vancouver and honored as the Canadian Ambassador for 2010 World Expo, Shanghai, China. It’s really exciting as it’s the first time China has ever hosted World Expo and the theme is “Better City, Better Life”. It’s really cool that over 200 countries and international organizations are coming together at World Expo, Shanghai to create a better future for the world. I’ve played 2 shows in Shanghai. It’s a great city and i look forward to visiting again next year. Avril.
Now the real question: can homegirl stop dressing like it’s two thousand and late?

pussycat dolls
No, you’re not the only Pussycat Doll eyeing yet another shot at a solo career Nicole Scherzinger! Smartly so (since all accounts indicate that a PCD breakup is very near), red-head Jessica Sutton has just finished shooting a video for her single with Trance god Paul Van Dyk - called “White Lies”.
Her trademark backup cane sex appeal has done anything but diminish, which makes this clip highly watchable, and surprise surprise - the girl can actually kinda sing!
