Looks like rapper 50 Cent will be following in the footsteps of Donald Trump in doing an Apprenctice-like series for MTV.
MTV has announced 50 Cent: The Money and the Power, a new The Apprentice-like reality competition that will feature 14contestants living together and competingto earn a “$100,000 investment” fromrapper and business mogul 50 Cent, will premiere on Thursday, November 6th at 10PM ET/PT.
Similar to Donald Trump’sThe Apprentice, The Money and the Power will require the contestants — who were all “hand-picked” by 50 Cent himself — to compete in “inventive” challenges that will gauge their “business flair, strength, ambition, and fearlessness,” according to MTV.
In between challenges, they’ll live at “Camp Curtis,” a Brooklyn warehouse containing tents named after New York City’s five boroughs (the camp is named after 50 Cent himself, whose real name is Curtis Jackson).
Each episode of theten-episode series willend with50 Centnarrowing the contestant poolby testing what they’ve learned so far in the competition. At the end, the final contestant will win 50 Cent’s “$100,000 investment.” Along the way, 50 Cent will also be assisted by “underboss” Tony Yayo, his G-Unit label mate.
In addition, the series will also feature special appearances by several celebrities, including fellow G-Unit member Lloyd Banks, rapper and actor LL Cool J and now formerDanity Kane member Aubrey O’Day.
It’ll be cool to see the businessman side of 50 Cent… But I hope this doesn’t turn into a dud like Diddy‘s Making the Band has.
