50 Cent and guns!? No way! How original. Oh I’m sorry does that sound sarcastic? Poor Val Kilmer, what happened?

50 Cent Gets ‘Caught in the Crossfire’ Again?

50-cent-am02

Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson has been cast in the upcoming film Caught in the Crossfire with Chris KleinAdam Rodriguez

The drama concerns two homicide detectives who find themselves caught in the crossfire of a gang-related homicide and a group of dirty cops. Jackson plays a gang-banger who becomes a reluctant informant.

I don’t know if 50 Cent can play a gang-banger, seems like a stretch (that’s me being sarcastic). We’ll see if this is more than just standard faire crime drama, my bet is yes.

50 Cent Is Launching A Line Of Beauty Products

50 Cent

Oh no, you read that headline right. Rapper 50 Cent is launching a line of men’s beauty products. The line, which includes night creams and moisturizers, is targeted at men who like to be “pampered.”

Evidently he’s even putting music on hold so he can focus on this new project.

I guess even gangbangers get flaky skin sometimes! And I’m sure there’s nothing like a good night cream to refresh and transform a baller’s complexion after a hard day of drug dealing and gun toting. This is just TOO much!

Rapper 50 Cent’s New Apprentice Series on MTV

Looks like rapper 50 Cent will be following in the footsteps of Donald Trump in doing an Apprenctice-like series for MTV.

MTV has announced 50 Cent: The Money and the Power, a new The Apprentice-like reality competition that will feature 14contestants living together and competingto earn a “$100,000 investment” fromrapper and business mogul 50 Cent, will premiere on Thursday, November 6th at 10PM ET/PT.

Similar to Donald Trump’sThe Apprentice, The Money and the Power will require the contestants — who were all “hand-picked” by 50 Cent himself — to compete in “inventive” challenges that will gauge their “business flair, strength, ambition, and fearlessness,” according to MTV.

In between challenges, they’ll live at “Camp Curtis,” a Brooklyn warehouse containing tents named after New York City’s five boroughs (the camp is named after 50 Cent himself, whose real name is Curtis Jackson).

Each episode of theten-episode series willend with50 Centnarrowing the contestant poolby testing what they’ve learned so far in the competition. At the end, the final contestant will win 50 Cent’s “$100,000 investment.” Along the way, 50 Cent will also be assisted by “underboss” Tony Yayo, his G-Unit label mate.

In addition, the series will also feature special appearances by several celebrities, including fellow G-Unit member Lloyd Banks, rapper and actor LL Cool J and now formerDanity Kane member Aubrey O’Day.

It’ll be cool to see the businessman side of 50 Cent… But I hope this doesn’t turn into a dud like Diddy‘s Making the Band has.

Taylor Swift & Kid Rock Among Performers for MTV Special Honoring Troops

Taylor Swift, Kid Rock, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Fall Out Boy, Ludacris, Saving Abel, Nelly, and others will be performing on a cross-network special honoring our troops on October 24th at 8pm. Hosted by the awful Sway of the music & reality TV conglomerate, A Night for Vets: An MTV Concert for the BRAVE will not only air on MTV’s various channels, but also on CNN Worldwide.

In addition to being performed before a live studio audience of vets and their family, the special will also include an interview with CNN international correspondent Michael Ware via satellite from Baghdad.

NEW MUSIC: 50 Cent – “Get Up”

If there’s one artist in the music industry who simply does not know how to switch his style up, it’s 50 Cent. Check out his new track, just released from his upcoming Before I Self Destruct.

Garbage.

50 Cent Re-Ignites Fake Beef with Kanye

Didn’t we already fall for this once? Even MTV seems to be buying it. Sure 50 Cent lost his corny “who can sell more” battle with Kanye, but he still knew it was the best marketing move he could have made (as week and single-less as Curtis was, there’s no way it would have done as well as it initially did).

Curtis performed this past weekend in Albany NY, and he demanded everyone get their camera phones ready– that he was about to debut his new single live for his packed crowd (he and his G-Unit cronies performed an almost-2-hour set). Then? The intro drum kicks for West’s “Love Lockdown” struck. Fif’ sang along to the first line, before laughing, telling the audience – “That’s what y’all are left with… I’ll forgive y’all for that one.”

The fledgling MC/wannabe actor then brought out equally talented MC’s Flavor Flav and LL Cool J before announcing his new album Before I Self-Destruct (really? Is that a promise Mr. Jackson?)’s release date – December 9th, conveniently mimicking ‘Ye’s release date of 808′s and Heartbreaks.

Keyshia Cole also performed at the venue, performing only a select few of her hits before walking offstage “barking” at the sound man.

Court Sides With 50 Cent In Ongoing Baby Mama Drama

50 Cent has been granted visitation rights with his 11 year old son Marquise on Monday, much to the chagrin of the boy’s mom Shaniqua Tompkins.

A temporary order – pending the beginning of a full custody trial next month – gives the rapper visitation with his son every other weekend. He’s pleased with this outcome.

“Yeah, I’m happy,” the rapper said outside Suffolk Family Court. “I get a chance to see him.”

Shaniqua, not so happy. Her lawyer said:

“I frankly don’t see, given his schedule, how he’s going to be able to see him on alternating weekends.”

The judge also ordered 50 Cent to stay away from his ex, due to the increasingly volatile nature of their relationship. Probably wise, considering that they have been conducting a battle royale since this past spring, when he tried to evict her from his Long Island property where she was living… and then the house burned down… and he had to sue her in order to get her to stop claiming that he started the fire… wait, I’ve seen this movie – it was called War of the Roses!

On a serious note, though, you know the ones who end up suffering the most in these nasty situations are the kids. So I’m glad Marquise gets to spend time with his dad, and I really hope Fiddy doesn’t mess it up!

Dr. Dre Is Ready For “Detox”… Are You?

The album that’s been over six years in the making (not implying in the least bit that Dr. Dre himself has been sitting idly by on the project for those six years), Detox is finally seeing a late 2008 release. He’s no longer pudgy (debuting a slimmed-down and beefed-up frame at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards), and while his track list may look chunked up with cameos, don’t expect the material to be your typical MC love fest.

“I was starting to doubt it myself, and then I went up in there and he played so much music for me it knocked my head off. … I see what he got them waiting for. It’s on and poppin’,” said Snoop Dogg who says he recorded material for the album, along with 50 Cent, Jay-Z, and Lil’ Wayne.

No word yet on whether Eminem will make this third studio album from the hip-hop icon.

“I’d describe it as the most advanced rap album musically and lyrically we’ll probably ever have a chance to listen to,” said one who surprisingly had the chance to listen to the project, now-bankrupt producer Scott Storch.
