Adele Is ‘On The Mend’ After Throat Surgery

Adele is “doing well” after her throat surgery and the British soul singer let her fans in on the good news.

The “Rolling in the Deep” chanteuse underwent laser throat surgery at Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital to repair a vocal cord hemorrhage and the procedure was successful.

“Sorry I haven’t written for a while. Thank you for all your positive thoughts and get well wishes,” Adele posted on her website.

“I’m doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all. The operation was a success and I’m just chilling out now until I get the all clear from my doctors.”

Adele, 23, had to cancel all her appearances and singing engagements for the rest of 2011. She was rumored to have throat cancer but her reps were quick to dismiss the more serious illness.

With the operation over, Adele also wanted to send out a message of gratitude to her fans.

“Thank you to everyone who voted for the awards I’ve won recently as well,” she wrote. “Hugely appreciated. I best get back to practicing my mime show now. Take care, miss you all.”

Clearly her sense of humor is still intact!

Adele Cancels All 2011 Concerts – Dismisses Throat Cancer Rumors

Adele‘s fans have been hit with two pieces of sad news about the singer: that she’s cancelled all the remaining 2011 concert dates and has throat cancer.

Only one of those things is accurate.

Yes, the “Rolling in the Deep” singer will not perform live at all for the rest of 2011 and possibly into 2012 – which is disappointing to fans – but everyone can breathe a sigh of relief as the rumors of Adele suffering from throat cancer are untrue.

“We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord,” the rep tells E!. “All reports regarding any other condition are 100 percent false.”

The 23 year-old is having the procedure to repair her damaged vocal cords, but it isn’t due to the more serious illness of cancer. She has a  hemorrhage – sort of like a bleeding bruise – on her vocal cords that needs to be surgically corrected.

At the beginning of the month, when Adele issued a statement on her official website, she said she was devastated at letting down her fans.

“I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or i risk damaging my voice forever. i have great confidence in believing you know how much this upsets me, how seriously i take it and how truly devastated and annoyed i am by this. wanting to do something so bad and not being able to is the most frustrating thing as im sure you know!”

Miley Cyrus Joins Adele, Sting & Ke$ha For Bob Dylan Tribute Album

A Bob Dylan tribute album is reportedly in the works to benefit Amnesty International and a slew of singers will cover the legendary musical poet’s tunes.

Among the celebrities giving Dylan’s songs a go are Sting, Adele, Ke$ha, Patti Smith, The Dave Matthews Band and Miley Cyrus.

Chimes of Freedom: Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International is set for release in early 2012.

Adele’s track is “Make You Feel My Love” which is also featured on her latest album, 19. Ke$ha is taking on “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right.”

The specific track Cyrus will be covering has not been announced.

So what tune do you think Cyrus should try?

“Blowin’ in the Wind,” “Just Like a Woman,” “Like a Rolling Stone” or maybe “Mr. Tambourine Man.” Any suggestions?

Adele Cancels Her US Tour Due To Vocal Cord Problems

British chart-topper Adele has been forced to cancel her remaining US tour dates because of a problem with her vocal cords.

The 23 year-old has been diagnosed with a vocal cord hemorrage – which is like a (bleeding) bruise in your throat – something that could be both painful and a long-term issue if she doesn’t address it.

Adele was forced to cancel her tour back in May because of laryngitis and these US dates were rescheduled from those spring concerts.

The singer posted her apology to fans on her blog:

“Guys, im heartbroken and worried to tell you that yet again im experiencing problems with my voice,” Adele said. “its ridiculous i know! i cant believe it myself. i follow all the advice im given and stick to regimes, rules and practices to the best of my ability but it seems to simply not be enough.”

She goes on to detail her vocal and respiratory problems that have led up to another cancellation and tells fans she is simply “devastated” at having to cancel shows again.

“singing is literally my life, its my hobbie, my love, my freedom and now my job,” Adele posted.

The “Rolling In The Deep” songstress released her second album, 21, earlier this year and it is the best selling album of 2011 so far.

Adele Tells Vogue UK She Doesn’t Want To Let The Pressure To Be Thin Rule Her Life

British soul-singer Adele is absolutely gorgeous on the cover of British Vogue for the October issue.

The 23 year-old chantuese spoke about her pre-show jitters, relationship distractions and how she’s not going to give in to the pressure to look a certain way.

On having supportive friends and not succumbing to beauty pressures: “I’ve seen people where it rules their lives, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I don’t want that in my life. I have insecurities, of course, but I don’t hang out with anyone who points them out to me.”

On why she isn’t in a relationship right now: “I do get massively distracted when I’ve got someone in my life, which I can’t afford to do right now. Besides, no one treats me as well as I do.”

On her pre-show anxiety: “I puke quite a lot before going on stage. Though never actually on stage. But then, I s— myself before everything … the bigger the freak-out, the more I enjoy the show!”

On any endorsement future she might have: “I don’t want to see me plastered everywhere,” she said. “If they offered me £10million, I’d be like f*** off. Besides if I was going to be the face of anything it should be the face of full-fat coke.”
