Alanis Morissette was seen shopping in Brentwood yesterday. We haven’t seen much of her around lately. I find her one of the most amazing singers of our time, and to top it off she’s Canadian like me. That alone makes her cool.

Recently, she was involved in the Earth Hour campaign where everyone was encouraged to turn off just their lights for an hour on March 28th . I know that our family participated in that making the city I live in having their energy being used that hour go down 1%. (Compared to last year at the same time when it went up 3%.)

The people in charge of this year’s Earth Hour have pulled out all the stops. On on March 28 they are encouraging us all turn off our lights for an hour at 8:30 p.m. local time. And for this spot the ‘turn off’ is Alanis Morrisette trimming her toenails on an airplane with nails flying everywhere. That bugs me period even not on a plane so they got my attention with that one.

Janeane Garofalo has also done her own huge ‘turn off’ spot too. Do you think these will make you turn off your lights for an hour?

The 34 year-old singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette has been through some rough times after her split with Ryan Reynolds (who is now married to our “Hottest Jewish Actress” Scarlett Johansson) and she gained some weight. Well, Alanis is back and slimmer than ever! I would say she even looks a lot sexier now than a decade ago.

Alanis found out she would have to change her lifestyle and turn to a vegan diet, if she wanted to live more and feel more energized.

“I realized I want to live till I’m 120,” Alanis reveals. “There’s a lifestyle that I am how happily creating that can, as best as is possible, prevent most forms of cancer and other diseases.”

“I wasn’t interested in some fad diet that was unsustainable, like ‘lose 10 pounds in two weeks,’ ” she says of why she chose to go the vegan route. “I don’t believe in diets; I think they’re short-term and a bit of an emotional roller-coaster.”

But turning vegan is even a bigger change and a bigger roller-coaster than a simple diet. I seriously don’t understand why people can’t just eat healthy without going extreme. Of course an extreme diet will only make you miserable because after you lose some weight you go right bad to all the greasy food. Ugh!!

It’s not always about what you eat but about what you do. That means you will have to include some exercise. Yeah, turning vegan is not enough to look that good!!

Alanis says: “When I’m not on tour, I do between a half hour to an hour of light weights, running, biking, swimming, probably five times a week. I also love to kickbox and dance.”

Her boyfriend, attorney Tom Ballanco, was always very supportive and for him it doesn’t really matter what’s her weight but how she feels. He just cares about her well-being… how romantic! Alanis does look amazing and we hope to see her back on tour soon.

I still can’t believe this! But there’s a rumor Alanis Morissette is pregnant with her first child. Who is the father?? We don’t know.

Since her break-up with actor Ryan Reynolds a year ago, Alanis did not assume a serious relationship with anyone. On the photo taken this morning on the “Today” show, Alanis is using loose clothes and it looks like she gained a little weight. Can you see a bump there??

We are still waiting for some kind of statement from the 33 year old singer’s rep to confirm or deny this pregnancy. So we will keep you updated…

Where’s Alanis Morissette been lately? Apparently licking her wounds over Ryan Reynolds breaking their engagement and then hooking up with younger, hotter model Scarlett Johansson about 13 minutes later.

And surprise surprise, now that RyJo have announced THEIR engagement, Alanis has some things to say.

“I took a break over the past two and half years. I was tending to my personal life,” says the singer… During that time, she says she hit “rock bottom” due to “a personal unraveling of significant relationships in my life.”

She channeled her feelings into songs for her album due on June 10th, Flavors of Entanglement. Come on, Alanis, lyrics like It was a slap in the face/How quickly I was replaced/And are you thinking of me when you f… her? are sooooo 1990s.
