The 34 year-old singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette has been through some rough times after her split with Ryan Reynolds (who is now married to our “Hottest Jewish Actress” Scarlett Johansson) and she gained some weight. Well, Alanis is back and slimmer than ever! I would say she even looks a lot sexier now than a decade ago.
Alanis found out she would have to change her lifestyle and turn to a vegan diet, if she wanted to live more and feel more energized.
“I realized I want to live till Im 120,” Alanis reveals. “Theres a lifestyle that I am how happily creating that can, as best as is possible, prevent most forms of cancer and other diseases.”
“I wasnt interested in some fad diet that was unsustainable, like ‘lose 10 pounds in two weeks,’ ” she says of why she chose to go the vegan route. “I dont believe in diets; I think theyre short-term and a bit of an emotional roller-coaster.”
But turning vegan is even a bigger change and a bigger roller-coaster than a simple diet. I seriously dont understand why people cant just eat healthy without going extreme. Of course an extreme diet will only make you miserable because after you lose some weight you go right bad to all the greasy food. Ugh!!
Its not always about what you eat but about what you do. That means you will have to include some exercise. Yeah, turning vegan is not enough to look that good!!
Alanis says: “When Im not on tour, I do between a half hour to an hour of light weights, running, biking, swimming, probably five times a week. I also love to kickbox and dance.”
Her boyfriend, attorney Tom Ballanco, was always very supportive and for him it doesnt really matter whats her weight but how she feels. He just cares about her well-being how romantic! Alanis does look amazing and we hope to see her back on tour soon.
