Alicia Keys nearly always looks good, but she particularly rocked the biker chick look for her new video, “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart.”  She was snapped while filming the video in New York.

The song is the second single from her new album, Element of Freedom.  What’s the song like?  Alicia said:

Alicia Keys is ready to branch out into another venue. The songstress is adding jewelry designer to her expanding creative ventures. The jewelry line will be called The Barber’s Daughter and will carry an engraved message of hope with each piece. Her newly formed company AK Worldwide, will handle all non-music business opportunities Keys decides to take part in.

Hhmmmmm.� I find this mishap a bit odd.� Alicia Keys certainly has the means to get nice hair.� Why on earth would this diva show up on the most glamorous night in Hollywood wearing a crappy wig?!� WTF?� This is� THE ACADEMY AWARDS! It’s Oscar night!

I give 2 thumbs down on this act.� The dress was nice but, unfortunately the wig took over and ruined the whole package.� Sorry.

Alicia Keys will have to be on the ‘worst dressed list’.

Whether a fan or not, there was little escape from Alicia Keys‘ “No One” this year.� Appropriately so, the singer/songwriter/actress leads the list of nominees for the 2008 American Music Awards with 5 nominations alongside Coldplay, who snagged 4.

Keys strikes nods for artist of the year, favorite female artist– pop or rock music, favorite female artist– soul/rhythm & blues, and favorite album for each for her multi-platinum-selling As I Am.

Coldplay ranks among those up for artist of the year, favorite band, duo, or group– pop or rock music, favorite artist– alternative rock music, and favorite album (for Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends).

We already got a taste of Jack White and Alicia Keys‘ new collaboration for the Bond flick Quantum Solace, “Another Way to Die” via Coke Zero’s new commercial, and even though we have yet to hear Keys’ vocals, she’s talking about the mutual love fest between the artists.

“I love Jack and the White Stripes, the rawness of their style. ‘Seven Nation Army’ obviously is crazy. And ‘Icky Thump’ � the intro to that is off the chain,” said Keys.

White’s input? “I like that she sneaks odd-sounding things into pop music that shouldn’t be there.”

The process of the song’s fruition alone is pretty exciting.� Having talked with Keys via phone, and reading the script and picking up on the flick’s themes of paranoia and mistrust, White wrote lyrics such as the chorus “Someone that you think you can trust is just another way to die.”� He didn’t want the sound to be retro, and was influenced by both Paul McCartney’s theme “Live & Let Die” as well as the animated opening sequences of previous Bond films (which he watched while mixing).

White and Keys have shot a video for the song and plan to perform it live several times, likely beginning at a special premiere in England, with the royal family in attendance. And the two hope to work together again in the future. “I would love to rock with him on my next album,” says Keys.

It seems there have been more musicians vying for the new Bond movie (check out my boy Nick’s coverage here) theme song than there were actors aiming for the role of 007 himself! From Amy Winehouse/Mark Ronson, Beyonce, and Leona Lewis, to Annie Lennox, Jack White, and Duffy, the dust finally seems like its settled, and the Quantum Solace title track has gone to front-runner Alicia Keys. Alicia Keys has signed a deal with beverage company Glaceau to be the face of their energy drink line, Vitamin Water.� She’s going to be paid $25M for the gig.�� That’s a lot of dough, but it’s a mere fraction of what their previous celebrity spokesman, 50 Cent, made for the same job - his Vitamin Water contract was reportedly $400M!!!

They’re getting a bargain!� Alicia should have totally tried to get more money from them.� I dunno about you but I’d rather look at her face than 50 Cent’s any day!� She should have just sung to them, “Baby, you know I’m worth it!”

Alicia Keys performed on the Late Show With David Letterman last night, and although she sounded great, hooo boy did girl ever make some bad fashion choices!

Her dress definitely shows off her curves, but the one-piece, monotone look just isn’t cutting it for her.� And ‘licia?� I know that you generally don’t wear things like this, but why didn’t someone tell you can’t wear undies (even a thong) under stuff this form-fitting?� Girl, it SHOWS.� Her hair looks much better natural than straightened - it looks limp and flat here.� And the items that are strapped onto her feet which I can only assume she intends to be shoes?� Ummm… what are those things - a pair of strappy sandals that got attacked by a tweed messenger bag?
