Alicia Keys and her man Swizz Beatz are engaged according to Us Weekly. The happy couple is trying to keep this engagement on the down low for now, but a big mouthed friend has revealed,
“They are currently in Hawaii celebrating the engagement and her birthday. She feels blessed. She is thrilled. She is with the man who has inspired so much of her music and her new album, The Element of Freedom.”
Since we already heard about the fabulous penthouse Alicia and Swizz are buying, we knew this ring was on it’s way. Congrats to the very happy couple!

Plus it has a gym, squash courts and even a private screening room. These places go for around $12 million!

We told you it was coming last month… Alicia Keys has officially unveiled her new jewelry line, The Barber’s Daughters.
The collection features
silver and gemstone pieces with quotes and poetry from iconic figures such as Gandhi, Buddha and Shakespeare.
Alicia explained why she chose to incorporate words into her jewelry:
“As a lyricist I love words and I love things that kind of…hit you so hard to the heart…I realized that this was another way to reach out to people and to really bring them inspiration in some way. If people tell me how much they love my music because it’s gotten them though a certain time in their life, I felt like this was an extension of music.”
The line includes necklaces, earrings, watches, cuffs and bracelets ranging from $85-$2,500. Unfortunately it won’t be available in time for Christmas shopping – it doesn’t hit stores until early 2010.

Alicia Keys nearly always looks good, but she particularly rocked the biker chick look for her new video, “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart.” She was snapped while filming the video in New York.
The song is the second single from her new album, Element of Freedom. What’s the song like? Alicia said:
‘It’s gonna take you on an ascension and I wanna take you higher.’

The jewelry line will be called The Barber’s Daughter and will carry an engraved message of hope with each piece. Hhmmmmm. I find this mishap a bit odd. Alicia Keys certainly has the means to get nice hair. Why on earth would this diva show up on the most glamorous night in Hollywood wearing a crappy wig?! WTF? This is THE ACADEMY AWARDS! It’s Oscar night!
I give 2 thumbs down on this act. The dress was nice but, unfortunately the wig took over and ruined the whole package. Sorry.
Alicia Keys will have to be on the ‘worst dressed list’.
