The cats came out to play for the Puss in Boots premiere at Regency Village Theater in Westwood, California with Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas.

Hayek was beautiful in a one-shoulder chocolate and black dress with ruffled detail and pleating.

Hayek and Banderas posed together on the red carpet and with their respective characters – Kitty Southpaws with Salma and Puss for Antonio.

Banderas was so proud of how the kids were enjoying themselves at the premiere.

Full ‘Skin I Live In Trailer’ with Antonio Banderas is Dark

Here’s the full trailer for the upcoming film The Skin I Live In starring Antonio Banderas from director Pedro Almodóvar.

This is one of my most anticipated movies of the year, Pedro Almodóvar is one of my favorite directors of our time. This movie looks like a step into the dark side like he’s never taken before, and I can’t wait to see how it turned out. Banderas reunion with the director looks like it went very well, this is a very different type of character for him. The Skin I Live In will get a limited release in the USA on October 14th, 2011.

Salma Hayek At 2011 Cannes Film Festival Opening Night

Salma Hayek was joined by husband Francois Henri Pinault as they walked the red carpet for the opening night of the 2011 Cannes International Film Festival at the Palais de Festivals on Wednesday.

Hayek opted for a fantastic Gucci Premiere dress (her husband owns the revered fashion label.) The strapless silvery white gown was beaded with crystals and sequins and embroidered on the bodice with the detailing trailing down into the full pleated skirt.

The actress was also wearing Gucci earlier in the day at the photo call with Antonio Banderas for their film Puss in Boots, premiering at Cannes.

Banderas and his wife, actress Melanie Griffith also attended the opening night of the festival.

Salma Hayek & Antonio Banderas: ‘Puss In Boots’ At Cannes

Puss in Boots actors Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas had a grand time with the photographers at the photo call for their animated flick at the 2011 Cannes International Film Festival at Carlton Beach.

Hayek was glowing in a russet colored leather dress from Gucci’s Fall 2011 collection. She paired it with a similiarly hued floral shrug and a purple leather belt.

The Shrek spin-off is a first for Hollywood: both lead voice actors are native Spanish/Latin speakers and Banderas is proud of his heritage and eager to let it show.

“I feel very proud, actually. I never pretended when I first went to Hollywood to be a guy from Oklahoma,” said Banderas, who was born in Spain. “I am what I am.”

Hayek says she’s glad to participate as the ideas for these characters weren’t derived from studio’s trying to fill a particular market; the development was natural.

“What’s interesting and great about it is it’s not contrived,” Hayek said. “It’s not like, ‘Oh, there’s a good Spanish market. Let’s now target them because we have not yet done the Mexican princess.’” Banderas’ version of Puss in Boots, she said, “got a life of its own, and that’s what created this, organically.”

First Look: ‘The Skin I Live In’ With Antonio Banderas (NSFW)

Here are the first official images from the upcoming film The Skin I Live In from director Pedro Almodovar.

An adaptation of Thierry Jonque‘s novel Tarantula, it is in part about the revenge a plastic surgeon (played by Antonio Banderas) seeks against the man who raped his daughter. But the surgeon is also sort of a psycho whose home life with his wife is, to say the very least,a bit deviant, and not quite to her taste.

See the NSFW image of Banderas in his lab after the jump.

New Woody Allen Film Gets a Title: ‘You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger’

slice_woody_allen_01

Woody Allen’s newest film finally has a title, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger. The film stars Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, Gemma Jones, Lucy Punch, and Freida Pinto.

So today, months after the shoot has ended, it’s news that Woody Allen’s newest movie has a title. You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, which sounds either like a prophecy or a threat, will be coming out in about a year.

It’s strange how long it takes for him to decide on a title to his films. I have no clue what this movie is about, but the cast is enough for my interest to be peaked.

‘Puss in Boots’ ‘Shrek’ Spinoff in the Works

puss-in-boots

The lovable Antonio Banderas voiced character Puss in Boots from the Shrek movies is getting his very own feature.

Tom Wheeler has been hired to write the “Shrek” spinoff “Puss in Boots” for DreamWorks Animation, a stand-alone feature foray for the feline assassin/swordsman voiced by Antonio Banderas in the two most recent “Shrek” films.

Michelle Raimo is producing.

The “Shrek” franchise has ballooned into a multibillion-dollar property, with three feature films grossing more than $2 billion worldwide in theaters, tens of millions of DVDs sold and merchandising in every toy store. A fourth feature film, “Shrek Goes Fourth,” is due in theaters May 21, 2010.

So they’ve hired a writer now hopefully they can pull of a quality movie.
