The new Melrose Place on the CW is already struggling and it seems that the execs over there think that by dumping Ashlee Simspson Wentz they will somehow save the show.  Thankfully Ashlee isn’t getting booted all by herself. Her co-star, Colin Egglesfield is also being dumped.

According to the executive producer, Todd Slavkinoth,  Colin and Ashlee seem to be taking the news fine,

“When you go into a show you never know what’s going to evolve and what the possibilities are. But because they knew ahead of time [that leaving was a possibility], it wasn’t a complete shock.”

Their final appearances will be in January.  Do you think these casting changes will help or hurt the show?  What’s next for Ashlee?  Better luck next time guys!

Melrose Place’s Ashlee Simpson, author/actress Alicia Silverstone and Friday Night Lights’ Connie Britton star on the upcoming October “20s, 30s, 40s” cover of REDBOOK magazine.

I love all three of these sexy ladies!  They are the perfect mix for this issue.  Nice choice, Redbook!

Here are a few highlights:

ASHLEE SIMPSON

On how having Bronx changed her: “I’ve grown up so much. The great thing about being pregnant is that you have nine months and it really does prepare you. Your body is changing, and it’s such an amazing time to feel that connection. I did prenatal yoga, which was a nice way to mellow down and focus on me and Bronx. Being pregnant was the healthiest I’ve ever been in my life. Except for the cupcakes.”

On whether she ever envies Jessica for being “free”: “I really don’t. She’s always saying, ‘Oh, I want a baby!’ Being a mom’s so empowering and incredible. I’m one of those people who believes that life brings things to you at a certain time for a certain reason, and if you just go with it, that’s where the best moments come from.”

ALICIA SILVERSTONE

On life after the huge success of Clueless: “It was overwhelming. And I was really isolated. From 19 to 28 there was a lot of turmoil in my life, but in a stuck way. Then, around 28, my life started to get shaken up. I realized I wanted to grow more and that anything that wasn’t working in my life, I could fix it. I feel like I came into my womanhood. And that was when I got married. I wasn’t attached to the idea of marriage, but something about Christopher and me—when we got married, things got more clear. My life and my decisions.”

On her role model: “I love Susan Sarandon. She’s such a sexy, sassy, sophisticated woman—and playful. She’s such a great example of what a hot woman is.”

CONNIE BRITTON

On aging and how she stays in shape: “I’m in an environment where I have a lot of information about how to stay healthy and live a good life. I love vegan and raw food, I love to exercise. If I weren’t in this business, I think I would be aging differently. I’m fortunate because, for whatever reason, I’ve never looked at myself as, Oh, my gosh, I have to be the most beautiful. I’ve always worked from the inside out, not the outside in.”

On marriage and her Friday Night Lights co-star Kyle Chandler: “It’s been fun playing this role on Friday Night Lights. Kyle’s a great TV husband. We have so many conversations about partnership and what that means to us, what our values are. We have the same perspective on conflicts and where we need to make sure we are grounded and have solidarity. Choosing to be in a monogamous relationship is one of the greatest challenges of being a human being. I have a much less conventional view about it now. It’s about the partnership and the choice to make a commitment.”

Ashlee Simpson Wentz was at the Melrose Place launch party last night (August 23rd)  in Los Angeles along with lots of other lovely ladies.  But, unfortunately Ashlee fell flat in the style department next to everyone else.

I think her dress is ok.  But, her hair ruins everything.  It is so flat and stringy.  I am not saying she needed a prom up-do.  SHe just needed to look like she’s washed it this month.  I am an Ashlee fan, just not a fan of her look last night.  I was disappointed, I wanted her to sparkle on her big night.  I think Melrose Place is a big step in her career and I think she should have shined last night.

Ashlee Simpson got a chance to party with her husband, Pete Wentz,  at the the AXE Instinct bash at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. AXE teamed up with Rolling Stone magazine for the Power of Leather launch party. They have a new AXE Instinct, it smells like leather.

I’m not sure if I could handle that. Do I really want my man to go around smelling like leather? I would rather just smell the real leather jacket on someone. That and the smell of cigarettes brings me back. Axe can you make a scent like that? Leather jacket and Player’s cigarettes? Let me know when you get that done.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are proving that they aren’t going to be silent for Prop 8. It needs to be overturned and passed. Gay marriage should be allowed just like it is in Canada. Why should two people that love each other be denied that one thing just because they are the same sex?

They were shot by photographer Adam Bouska on Monday with the campaign’s signature look: “NOH8″ painted on their cheeks and duct tape over their mouths as a symbol of the pro-gay voices not being heard.

I love that they are on board for this. It makes me heart them that much more.

Though she just had her precious bundle of joy Bronx Mowgli mere months ago, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is bangin’ a hot mom body already. Having already returned to her svelt figure, she went shopping yesterday in Beverly Hills sporting some black wash, low rise skinny jeans, a white tank, and super long fire engine red hair.

I just don’t get why hubby Pete Wentz would feel the need to go partying with strippers. He’s got the mother of his child working her buns off (literally) for him. Get a life, dude!

Ashlee Simpson shared an adorable picture of Bronx Mowgli. Apparently while Ashlee was at home spending some one on one time with her sweet baby, her husband was out in Las Vegas at the Palms Hotel and Casino spending some two on one time with strippers!

It was a major band party complete with Las Vegas’ finest….sluts.  How lovely.

“Everybody was going absolutely crazy. People were even drunkenly playing makeshift Slip ’n’ Slide with a mat and lubricant. Pete was in great spirits. He was dancing and singing along to his band’s own songs, grinding up against the dancers.”

“At one point he was dancing on a pool table with the girls.”

I would love to hear what Ashlee thinks about her beloved husband and his little trip to Vegas…..I’d be so pissed.

Singer Ashlee Simpson and her husband Pete Wentz attended the MTV Australia Awards held at the Darling Harbour Convention and Exhibition Centre in Sydney. The new momma is absolutely gorgeous and how did she manage to get back into shape so fast?! She looks amazing. We are ready to read about her weight lost secrets in some magazine.

Rumors say Ashlee and Pete’s marriage is on the rocks because Ashlee is tired of staying home being a mom while daddy still keeps a busy schedule. I’m sure this is just a phase – they are still adapting to having a baby and being a new married couple and parents.

Ashlee Simpson has been snatched up by the CW and will be on the new generation of Melrose Place.  I think she will do great.  I just hope that it doesn’t take up all of her time….little Bronx Mowgli needs his mama!!

“I’m thrilled to be joining the cast of Melrose Place and I look forward to being a part of its new generation of residents,” Simpson-Wentz said in a statement.

I love that the good classics are getting another run.  I loved 90210 and Melrose Place.  I hope Melrose is as good as the original!
