Crystle Stewart: The New Miss USA

Crystle Stewart, a 26-year-old from Texas, beat out Chace Crawford’s sister and 48 other girls to be crowned Miss USA.

Almost immediately, the contestants were narrowed down from 50 to 15. The finalists included Miss Missouri - and sister of Chace Crawford - Candice Crawford. But even her sibling’s star power was not enough to deny Stewart from her destiny.

Miss Texas Crystle Stewart was the winner, and first runner-up was Leah Laviano, and second runner-up was Tiffany Andrade.  She succeeded Rachel Smith.

Congrats Crystle, you are stunning!

Miss USA Tara Conner To Write Rehab Memoir

Tara Conner

To get a pardon from Donald Trump and still be Miss USA is sweet. To be out of rehab and be a former Miss USA is money! Tara Conner will get a chance to make loads of cash out of her rehabilitation and give every one her ‘life lessons’ from her ordeal.

Conner, from Kentucky, spent 31 days at the Caron Foundation rehab facility in Pennsylvania last December. She completed the treatment on Jan. 21 and later admitted that she was just a small town Kentucky girl who got lost in the bliss of the Big Apple.

“When it was time for me to walk away and take the sash off, I turned into a completely different person,” Tara said.

Life Lesson #1 Be pretty. Life Lesson #2 Be pretty and go to rehab or get arrested. Money will follow… Is there really anything else?

CW premieres “Crowned” December 12th

The CW network has a fun and pretty new face coming to it’s line up this week. Crowned, The Mother Of All Pagent Shows, has mother/daughter challenges and teamwork to give you a glimpse into the world of beauty pagentry and the relationships between the women who enter them and who groom their daughters for the life. Carson Kressley of Queer Eye and Shanna Moakler are judges adding their wit and wisdom each week.

Not only do good looks, talent and a penchant for world peace have to run in the family, each team must also have patience, teamwork and a healthy sense of humor. Some teams have years of pageant experience and some teams have none. In the end, one mother/daughter team will be “crowned” the winner and will receive a valuable prize package, including a $100,000 cash award, and, of course, a fabulous pair of tiaras.

Be sure to catch the first episode December 12th on the CW.

Sounds like delicious fun!

Miss Puerto Rico Pepper Spray Incident Made Up?

Ingrid Marie Rivera, Miss Puerto Rico

The world of beauty pagents is incredibly cut throat and this past weekend’s competition for just a chance to be in the Miss Universe pagent was no exception. Ingrid Marie Rivera reportedly had her clothing, make-up and credit cards stolen and her make-up and gowns sabotaged and doused in pepper spray. She claims to have had to shed her clothes and put ice on her skin in between performances because she broke out in hives. Now crime scene investigators in Puerto Rico are wondering how she was able to not cry while on stage, if indeed having been covered in pepper spray.

The reported skepticism about Rivera prompted Today show host Meredith Vieira to inquire on Tuesday’s broadcast if, possibly, crime-scene investigators believe the pepper-spray claim may have been imaginary.

“They’re saying, they think she made it up?” Vieira asked reporter Kerry Sanders, who replied: “They’re looking into it. They’re curious.”

Rivera is due to be interviewed on Wednesday’s Today show, where, on Tuesday, co-anchor Matt Lauer said he intended to get to the bottom of the mystery.

This is curious. I think I could see it if it was just her clothing. The contestants aren’t on stage for very long. To not cry if it was mixed in your make-up? That just doesn’t seem possible. How can you continue wearing it? Something is amiss…
