‘Little Fockers’ May Have ‘Get Smart’s Pete Segal as it’s Director

fockers

The third film in the Ben Stiller driven Meet The Parents trilogy Little Fockers might be getting Pete Segal to direct.

Pete Segal has emerged as the frontrunner to direct “Little Fockers,” the third installment in the Universal Pictures/Tribeca Prods. franchise.

Segal was expecting to return as the director of “Get Smart 2″ this year but became available when Steve Carell instead made a deal to team with Tina Fey in the Shawn Levy-directed comedy “Date Night” for Fox.

Personally I don’t really have a lot of hope in this movie being a stellar experience, so this news is less than exciting to me.

Natalie Portman Pretty In Pink At The Oscars

Natalie Portman At The Oscars

My favorite dress of the 81st Academy Awards was by far Natalie Portman‘s. She was also the prettiest too! Natalie wore a Grecian-inspired, orchid pink Rodarte gown. Of all the horrible and bland dresses on the red carpet this one was nice to see. Her stylist needs a raise.

Later on in the evening she presented the award for best Cinematography with Ben Stiller. Although, Ben stole the show with his his spoof of Joaquin Phoenix. Natalie did a good job reading the teleprompter and trying not to die laughing. See the clip of the spoof here>>>

Colorful New ‘Night at the Museum 2′ Poster

namposter

This is the poster from the new film sequel Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonianstarring Ben Stiller.

Opening in conventional and IMAX theaters on May 22, the Shawn Levy-directed sequel stars Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Hank Azaria, Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais, Owen Wilson, Ed Helms, Christopher Guest, Jon Bernthal, Bill Hader, Alain Chabat, Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon.

This movie was made solely to milk the first one for all it is worth. I’m sure audiences will be disappointed then again, it’s a large and full cast of comics.

‘Night at the Museum 2′ Trailer

Here’s the trailer for Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian starring Ben Stiller.

The studios love to milk movies like this for as much cash as they can. Hopefully it’s actually worth taking the kids to.

‘Zoolander 2′ is Coming

That’s right a sequel to the goofy comedy starring Ben Stiller as supermodel Derek Zoolander is coming. Stiller said:

He says, “I’ve been trying to get Zoolander 2 together and we’ve had a few scripts. I feel that is the sequel I really would like to do some day because I like the original and I would make sure it was something new and worthy of it first.”

The first one was pretty funny. It takes the cake as the most stupid movie that I actually enjoyed.

Will ‘The Dark Knight’ Succumb to ‘Tropic’ Fever?

The Dark Knight has made $445.3 million domestically as of monday night. $708.8 million is it’s grand total worldwide so far. This film has remained on the top of the heap in the USA since it’s release 4 weekends ago. This weekend is likely to be the first that the film fails to reach the top spot as the new Ben Stiller comedy Tropic Thunder hits theaters. The star power of Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Jack Black are likely to pull in a large audience. Especially with the buzz over the boycott against the film for the use of the word ‘retarded’. When will people learn that there is no such thing as bad publicity?

‘Tropic Thunder’ Hits Entertainment Weekly Cover

Jack Black, Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. are the stars of the new film Tropic Thunder. Check out EW’s interview of the trio:

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: This movie mercilessly ridicules the self-important aspects of acting. Ben, you were telling me earlier that there’s nothing actors love more than to sit around telling stories about other actors behaving like jerks.
JACK BLACK:But not in aninterview!
ROBERT DOWNEY JR.:Literally, I once heard an actor say, ”This whole process us trying to shoot this scene this isgarbage. We need to put on animal masks and get primal with each other, and then we’ll understand who really has the status in this scene. I’ve got the masks.”
BEN STILLER:Wow.
DOWNEY:I remember looking at this dude and going, ”You broughtanimal masks? You honestly think your, like, improv summer-stock idea is going to break it open for me? We’ve gotmoneyon the line. I’m not going to put on rabbit ears and figure out who’s king of the forest.”

BEN STILLER:I remember being in a car scene with a jaded actor who pulled out a flask: ”It’s 4 o’clock. Time for a little nip.”

ROBERT DOWNEY JR.:[To Stiller] But you’ve never worked drunk or loaded?
STILLER:Um, no.
DOWNEY:Liar.
STILLER:I haven’t! Just out of fear of screwing up.
DOWNEY:Jack?
JACK BLACK:No. I had an improv class in high school and I came stoned one time. And I was so paranoid that I never tried to f— with it again. I marvel at some people’s ability to party and then act. I’m not built that way. [Pauses] But what blows me away is how quickly someone who’s new to the industry can go from being, like [breathlessly], ”Whoa, what? I have my owntrailer?! Oh my God, you guys, this is insane!” to [smugly] ”But I deserve it. And actually now Iexpectit.” The transition into the spoiled actor happens really fast. That’s why you hear about a lot of actors who live on a farm out in the middle of the country to shield themselves, so they can stay grounded. But that’s its own kind of spoiledness too.
STILLER:I was directing an actress once who was taking a nap on the set and I had to gingerly wake her up. [Whispering] ”We have to film now.” ”But I’m so tired.” ”I know, but everyone’s here and we’re ready to do the scene.”
BLACK:There is an infantilization that happens to actors. I had to catch myself a couple of times while we were making this movie from falling into the trap of ? being the character. I got a really bad sunburn on the very first day of rehearsals, and I was so mad and I really wanted to blame someone besides myself for not putting sunblock on.
STILLER:”How could you not tell me how strong the sun was going to be?!”
